Abstract

This research was instigated by learning activities that were not maximum because COVID-19 pandemic, so it was difficult to measure student scientific process skills at Vocational High School of Abdurrab Pekanbaru maximally. This research aimed at knowing student scientific process skills using Physics Education Technology (PhET)Virtual Laboratory on Acid Base Indicator lesson. Quantitative descriptive method was used in this research. Observation sheet, posttest question in the form of essay, and student interview as the supporting instrument were used to measure student scientific process skills. The subjects of this research were the tenth-grade students of TLM at Vocational High School of Abdurrab Pekanbaru, and the objects were student scientific process skills using PhET Virtual Laboratory on Acid Base Indicator lesson at Vocational High School of Abdurrab Pekanbaru. The samples were 20 of the tenth-grade students of TLM 3 at Vocational High School of Abdurrab Pekanbaru selected by using purposive sampling technique. Based on the data obtained, it could be concluded that student scientific process skills using PhET Virtual Laboratory overall were on good category. The highest percentage result of scientific process skills was on the aspect of doing an experiment 97.5%, and the lowest result was on the aspect of grouping skill 82.5%.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini dilakukan modifikasi zat warna organik secara komputasi dengan struktur tipe D-A (Donor-Akseptor) dan D-π-A (Donor-π konjugasi-Akseptor). Struktur molekul digambarkan menggunakan software GaussView 6.0.16 dan dihitung menggunakan paket software Gaussian’16W dengan metode DFT/TDDFT serta basis set B3LYP/6-31G. Zat warna trifenilamin digunakan sebagai rantai donor yang dimodifikasi dengan cara memvariasikan rantai akseptor. Variasi rantai akseptor pada tipe D-A yang digunakan Piridin, Pirimidin, Purin dan Kuinolin. Sedangkan Asam Benzoat, Asam Asetat, Asam Format dan Asam Sianoakrilik digunakan sebagai variasi rantai akseptor tipe D-π-A. Selanjutnya dilakukan optimasi dengan menambahkan gugus pendorong yaitu -CH3, -CH=CH2, dan -NH2 dan gugus penarik -OH, -CN, -NO2. Hasil perhitungan pada zat warna tipe D-A menunjukan bahwa rantai akseptor purin yang dinamakan dengan Dye 3 memiliki bandgap yang paling kecil dan serapan cahaya yang paling besar. Sedangkan perhitungan pada zat warna tipe D-π-A menunjukan bahwa Dye 6 dengan rantai akseptor asam asetat memiliki bandgap yang paling kecil dan serapan cahaya yang paling besar. Untuk penambahan gugus pendorong maupun penarik elektron didapatkan hasil bahwa tidak mampu menurunkan bandgap dari zat warna tipe D-π-A. Jadi, pada penelitian ini dihasilkan bahwa struktur zat warna organik dengan rantai donor trifenilamin, π konjugasi purin, rantai akseptor Asam Asetat merupakan struktur zat warna paling efisien yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi serapan cahaya pada DSSCs. Abstract

Vitamin C is the best antioxidant known to have benefits to boost immunity. One of the fruits that contain vitamin C is the Pasaman orange. Pasaman orange is a fruit that is a flowering plant with members of the Citrus clan from the Rutaceae tribe (orange-orange tribe). Pasaman oranges were analyzed for their vitamin C content in order to increase the community's immunity during the covid-19 pandemic. The method used is a laboratory experiment with the iodometric method. The result is that Pasaman oranges contain high levels of vitamin C, with the average vitamin C levels in the Pasaman oranges being 10.22%, 11.18% and 10.38% respectively, while the average vitamin C levels in the Pasaman oranges were 10.59%. And during this pandemic, we should consume a lot of food and fruit with vitamin C to increase the body's immunity, so that it can be developed to the next stage of further and more effective research.

Abstract

This research was instigated by student workbook Contextual Teaching and Learning based that was not yet developed on Reaction Rate lesson. Besides, the students cold not relate what they learnt and how the knowledge should be applied in their daily lives. This research aimed at producing student workbook Contextual Teaching and Learning based on Reaction Rate lesson and knowing the validity and practicality level, and student response to the produced workbook. It was a Research and Development with 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model. It was administered at State Senior High School 2 Kampar, and the subjects of this research were student workbook media design experts, learning material experts, Chemistry subject teachers, and students. The object was student workbook Contextual Teaching and Learning based on Reaction Rate lesson. The collected data were primary—the data were obtained directly from questionnaire. The instruments of collecting the data were validity test questionnaire, practicality test questionnaire, and student response test questionnaire. The obtained data then were analyzed by using Descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. Based on the produced workbook that was tested, its validity level was 88.78% percentage (very valid), its practicality level was 88 % percentage (very practical), and student response was 88 % percentage (very good). Based on these results, it could be concluded that student workbook Contextual Teaching and Learning based was valid and practical on Reaction Rate, so it was appropriate to be an additional teaching material for the teachers at school.

Abstract

This research aimed at designing SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society) based Motion Comic media on Acid Base lesson valid based on the validation by the experts of material and media, teacher practicality and student response. It was R&D (Research and Development) with 4-D development model. It was conducted at State Senior High School 01 Kampar Kiri Tengah to the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 3. Motion Comic media could be stated proper, if it completed the valid and practical aspects. Validity could be seen from the result of validation by using validation sheet. The validation result percentage by the expert of material overall was 92.22% with very valid criterion. The validation result percentage by the expert of media overall was 82.85% with very valid criterion. Teacher practicality test was conducted to 2 teachers, and the result was 85.71% with very practical criterion. Student response was obtained from 12 students, and the questionnaire result was 84.64% with very good criterion.

Abstract

Corrosion is one the problems that occur in the production process in oil and gas industries that can reduce material equipment such as tubing and flowline. corrosion is influenced by humidity and temperature. Corrosion can be control by using organic inhibitors because they are environmentally friendly. This research is a laboratory research that examines the effect of humidity using red ginger on reducing corrosion flow rate. Red ginger is used because it contains phenol antioxidants which can inhibit the corrosion flow rate. The variables used were variations in room humidity, 80%, and 90% and the inhibition time was 72 hours, 144 hours, and 216 hours. The results showed that the sample by adding red ginger inhibitor at room temperature humidity, 80%, 90% was able to maximize decrease in the corrosion rate. The sample with the addition of ginger inhibitor showed the higher the humidity value, the higher the corrosion rate where the highest corrosion rate was 0.1362 mmpy at 90% humidity, while the lowest humidity was obtained at room humidity of 0.0517 mmpy. Abstract

Saat ini sumber energi yang banyak digunakan adalah energi tak terbarukan yaitu yang berasal dari alam seperti minyak bumi, batu bara dan gas bumi yang apabila digunakan terus menerus akan habis. Upaya untuk menghindari ketergantungan energi adalah pemanfaatan limbah pertanian, perkebunan dan hutan yang dijadikan sebagai energi alternatif dengan cara dibuatkan menjadi briket. Kualitas briket SNI yaitu memiliki Kadar Air ≤ 8% Kadar Abu ≤ 8% Nilai Kalor ≥ 5000 cal/g. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan melakukan sistematika riview dari beberapa jurnal penelitian. Diapat bahwa dari beberapa jurnal yang di riview nilai kalor dari briket batang gulma siam : perekat dengan komposisi 91 : 9 memiliki nilai kalor 12106,27 cal/g merupakan nilai terbaik yang didapat.

Abstract

Limbah cangkang telur digunakan sebagai bahan baku untuk pembuatan katalis heterogen dalam produksi biodiesel. Sebelum digunakan, kandungan kalsium karbonat (CaCO3) dalam limbah cangkang telur dikonversi ke kalsium oksida (CaO) dengan kalsinasi pada 200-1000°C untuk 2jam. Sifat fisikokimia katalis oksida padat dianalisis menggunakan difraksi sinar-X (XRD). Aktivitas katalitik dari katalis dalam transesterifikasi minyak sayur dengan metanol dievaluasi. Pengaruh waktu reaksi, suhu reaksi, rasio molar metanol:minyak, jumlah katalis, juga diselidiki. limbah cangkang telur adalah sumber daya hayati untuk produksi katalis basa heterogen yang berhasil dimanfaatkan untuk sintesis biodiesel dengan kemurnian tinggi, hemat biaya dan ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Ekstraksi hidrokarbon pada sedimen Hycarfos dilakukan melalui protokol yang dibuat di laboratorium. Sedimen HycarFos yang diambil di Teluk Fos yang mana merupakan lokasi kilang minyak dan industri petrokimia. Studi ekstraksi ini dilakukan dengan alat soxtherm. Perlakukan analisa sampel sedimen Hycarfos melalui protokol analitik (ekstraksi dengan soxtherm) diperoleh kandungan hidrokarbon adalah 90,36% dan 104,81%. Dari studi ini juga menunjukkan sedimen terkontaminasi oleh hidrokarbon dengan jumlah total hidrokarbon lebih besar dari 100 mg/kg sedimen kering dan nilai F1/F2 besar dari 1.

Abstract

Desa Teluk Nilap merupakan salah satu daerah di kecamatan Kubu Babussalam, kabupaten Rokan Hilir, Riau. Daerah ini merupakan daerah dataran rendah dengan ketinggian dari permukaan laut 6-10 m dan kedalaman sumber air tanah ≤ 5 m. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan kelayakan kualitas air tanah di derah penelitian sebagai air bersih. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling dengan cara mengumpulkan data air tanah dangkal (sumur gali) di lokasi penelitian. Kemudian, ditentukan titik-titik pengamatan (pumping test) dan pengambilan sampel air tanah dangkal untuk analisis laboratorium. Dari 15 sampel air tanah, didapatkan warna air tanah keruh (60%), coklat (20%), kuning (14%), bening (6%); TDS berkisar 283,4 – 958,0 mg/l; pH berkisar 5,37- 6,37; kadar Fe berkisar 0,3-30 mg/l; kadar Hg berkisar 0,0009 – 0,02 mg/l dan kadar Pb berkisar 0,009 – 0,01 mg/l. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran semua parameter fisika dan kimia air tanah di daerah penelitian yang mengacu pada Permenkes No.32 tahun 2017 tentang persyaratan air bersih maka dihasilkan peta kelayakan air tanah yang menunjukan bahwa semua air tanah di daerah penelitian tidak layak digunakan sebagai air bersih.
