Abstract

Oral and dental health is an integral part of general health, yet high treatment costs and limited availability of dentists, especially in non-urban areas, often lead the public to delay examinations until complaints worsen. This research aims to develop a web-based expert system capable of providing early indications of oral and dental diseases quickly, accurately, and accessibly through a self-screening mechanism. This web application provides an expert system developed using Python (Flask) and designed with login/logout features for data security, as well as storing user information and diagnosis results in a database. The system utilizes the Forward Chaining method as the primary inference engine to process user-inputted symptoms, and integrates Certainty Factor to calculate and determine the confidence level of the diagnosis results. Testing has demonstrated ease of use, where users only need to answer symptom questions with "yes" or "no" to obtain a disease diagnosis and relevant treatment suggestions. Performance analysis based on trials with 40 simulated data shows the system achieved an accuracy rate of 85%, making it a reliable tool for initial screening.

Abstract

AutoGATE is an immigration inspection automation system implemented at a number of international airports in Indonesia. This system was developed to improve service efficiency and supervision of residence permit holders and users of Visa on Arrival (VoA) facilities, not all VoA users can use AutoGATE, especially if they do not meet the requirements for electronic passports or do not have biometric records in the immigration system. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using AutoGATE in supporting mobility control of VoA users and residence permit holders. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study research type. The qualitative approach was chosen because it is suitable for describing and analyzing in depth the effectiveness of the AutoGATE system in controlling the mobility of residence permit holders and users of the Visa on Arrival (VoA) facility, using three main techniques, namely in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, and to maintain data validity and validity, this research applies source triangulation and technique triangulation techniques. Data from various sources were compared and confirmed with each other, while data from interviews, observations, and documentation were analyzed simultaneously to obtain credible conclusions. The results show that AutoGATE contributes significantly to improving the speed of the immigration process as well as the accuracy of monitoring data. However, the system still faces challenges in cross-agency data integration and biometric validation. This study recommends strengthening the information technology infrastructure and training officers to sustainably improve AutoGATE's performance.

Abstract

In Indonesia's immigration system, the Limited Stay Visa (VITAS) and Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) are two main instruments that are interrelated. However, so far there are gaps in the system that cause less than optimal synchronization between VITAS and ITAS. Problems that often arise include data duplication, long bureaucratic processes, and limited interoperability between related institutions' systems. This research aims to analyze the integration between Limited Stay Visa (VITAS) and Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) in the development of sustainable immigration technology in Indonesia, especially from the perspective of digital innovation. The research approach uses a qualitative method with literature study and policy analysis to examine regulations, digital systems, and service practices related to VITAS and ITAS. The results show that the integration of e-Visa and ITAS Online electronic systems can significantly improve the efficiency, transparency, and speed of immigration services. This digital transformation also contributes to reducing paper usage and cutting bureaucracy, which is in line with sustainability principles. However, there are still challenges related to technological infrastructure, digital literacy of officers, and technical constraints that need to be addressed to ensure optimal implementation. This research recommends strengthening human resource capacity, improving IT infrastructure, and public education as strategic steps going forward. The digital integration of VITAS and ITAS is an important foundation in building a modern, inclusive, and sustainable immigration system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze consumer purchasing patterns at Toko Sumber Rejeki using a data mining approach,specifically the Market Basket Analysis method. In this study, three popular algorithms are used, namely Apriori, FPGrowth, and Eclat to identify associations between products that are often purchased together. The transaction dataanalyzed consists of 200 of purchase data during the period 2023-2024, which is then processed through the preprocessingstage and transformed into a transaction format. The evaluation is carried out based on the support, confidence, and liftmetrics to assess the strength of the association rules generated by each algorithm. In addition, a comparison of algorithmefficiency is seen from the number of rules formed and the computation time required. The results of the study show that allthree algorithms are able to produce rules that are relevant to the needs of the store, but FP-Growth has an advantage inprocessing time efficiency compared to Apriori and Eclat. These findings can be used as a basis for strategic decisionmaking, such as product arrangement and bundling promotions, to increase sales effectiveness.

Abstract

The main problem often faced by barbershop businesses is the manual booking process, such as through phone calls or direct visits. This leads to long queues, scheduling errors, and inefficiency in customer data management. This study aims to design and develop a web-based barbershop booking information system that facilitates customers in making reservations and assists barbershop staff in managing service schedules effectively. The software development method used is the Waterfall model, which consists of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. The analysis technique used is PIECES, aimed at identifying weaknesses in the old system and formulating the needs of the new system. The result of this study is a web-based booking information system that provides features such as user registration, service and barber selection based on time, schedule management, and automatic notifications. Black Box testing showed that all system functions work as expected. The system successfully reduced queues by up to 70% during a three-day operational simulation and improved service efficiency at the barbershop.

Abstract

The problem faced by the Jambi Regional Office of the Ministry of Law related to news portals is that the existing systemis ineffective in presenting the latest and relevant legal information to the public. The old system has disadvantages suchas a less intuitive interface, many features that confuse users, and the absence of interactive features that can involve thepublic in discussions of evolving legal issues. In addition, this portal lacks the legal information needed by the public. Thepurpose of this research is to design and develop a web-based news portal system that can provide up-to-date and relevantlegal information for the people in Jambi Province, with a focus on presenting legal news that is easily accessible andunderstandable. This system aims to replace the old system that has limitations. The methods used in this study includeanalysis of existing systems, data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation, and system design usingUML (Unified Modeling Language). The system is tested using the black-box method to ensure that all features runaccording to the set objectives. The results show that the new news portal system can present legal information moreeffectively with features such as news searches, news categories, and interaction between admins and users. This system isexpected to increase transparency, legal literacy, and provide better access for the public to accurate and up-to-date legalinformation.

Abstract

The city of Kendari is home to various social institutions such as orphanages and nursing homes that require support fromthe community and attention from the government. However, limited information regarding the locations and supportingdata of these social institutions often poses challenges in the distribution of aid and the formulation of social policydecisions. This study aims to develop a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) that visually and informativelymaps the distribution of social institutions in Kendari. The methods employed include literature review, needs analysis,system design, implementation, and testing. The system is developed using PHP for the backend, Leaflet.js for interactivemap visualization, and MySQL as the database. The data used consist of spatial data in the form of geographiccoordinates and non-spatial data such as institution names, categories, addresses, contact details, and social mediaaccounts. The testing technique applied is black box testing to evaluate key system functionalities, including map display,location search, data management by administrators, and interface reliability. The results show that the systemsuccessfully displays an interactive digital map with informative location icons and supports data operations such as add,edit, and delete through an admin interface. This system is expected to serve as an effective information tool for the public,volunteers, and authorities in accessing and managing social institution data efficiently and transparently.

Abstract

The implementation of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure projects frequently experiences failures—such as schedule delays, cost escalation, and stakeholder rejection of deliverables, because of ineffective communication between vendors and internal stakeholders. This study evaluates how far optimizing communication planning, information distribution, performance reporting, and documentation processes can improve project communication effectiveness and reduce conflict. A qualitative case study was carried out on an IT infrastructure project at a national telecommunications company through field observation; analysis of project documents, such as communication plans, weekly reports, and meeting minutes; and structured interviews with the project manager, vendor team, and internal departments, such as planning, project management, and regional operations. Coordination patterns were identified to verify the consistency and reliability of data sources. Findings indicate that a combination of routine face‑to‑face meetings, periodic reporting, and the use of digital collaboration platforms, such as a project portal, Jira, and Microsoft Sharepoint, Teams, accelerates issue detection and expedites technical decision‑making compared with previous project cycles. Disciplined communication documentation also reduces conflict and administrative disputes by providing clear mitigation evidence, including comprehensive project records and well‑defined escalation paths when scope changes occur. An integrated set of communication procedures across all departments enhances transparency, aligns stakeholder expectations, and lowers the risk of failure, particularly in IT infrastructure projects.

Abstract

Pengelolaan arsip surat secara manual pada instansi pemerintahan sering menimbulkan berbagai kendala, seperti keterlambatan pencarian, risiko kehilangan dokumen, serta kurangnya integrasi data. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan sistem informasi berbasis website untuk mengelola arsip surat masuk dan keluar di Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil (Disdukcapil) Kabupaten Nias. Sistem ini dirancang menggunakan model pengembangan perangkat lunak Waterfall, melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Sistem yang dibangun terdiri dari tiga level pengguna: Super Admin, Admin, dan User, dengan hak akses yang disesuaikan. Fitur utama meliputi pengelolaan surat masuk/keluar, pencatatan otomatis, disposisi, pelacakan status surat, serta penyajian laporan berkala. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi administrasi, akurasi data, serta transparansi layanan publik. Sistem ini tidak hanya menyelesaikan permasalahan arsip di Disdukcapil Nias, tetapi juga berpotensi menjadi model penerapan digitalisasi arsip bagi instansi pemerintahan lainnya. Penerapan sistem ini mendukung transformasi digital dalam pengelolaan administrasi publik yang lebih efektif dan modern.

Abstract

The utilization of e-learning platforms in higher education has become a fundamental necessity to support effective and efficient online learning processes. User experience (UX) quality plays a crucial role in determining the success of such platforms, both from technical and pedagogical perspectives. Universitas Jender al Achmad Yani (UNJANI), as a higher education institution, has developed its own e-learning system to facilitate technology-based instruction. This study aims to evaluate the UX quality of UNJANI’s e-learning platform. A mixed methods approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Quantitative data were collected through the distribution of the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) to 354 student respondents from four faculties. Meanwhile, qualitative data were gathered through in-depth interviews with 26 respondents to gain a more comprehensive understanding of user perceptions and experiences. The quantitative analysis revealed that the platform scored highest in the attractiveness and novelty dimensions (1.55), followed by clarity and efficiency (1.50). However, the accuracy (0.78) and stimulation (0.85) dimensions indicated areas for improvement. The qualitative findings supported these results and further uncovered technical issues and a demand for more innovative and interactive features. The study concludes that UNJANI’s e-learning platform provides a relatively positive user experience, yet further development is required to enhance system stability and the effectiveness of features supporting online learning.
