Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing learning media. Research subjects were selected using purposive sampling, comprising two biology teachers and 33 students from class X E 6. The study employed descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods within an R&D framework using the 4D model, limited to the "develop" stage. Data collection involved teacher interviews and the distribution of student needs questionnaires. Research instruments included a teacher interview guide and a student needs questionnaire. The analysis revealed that teachers faced limitations regarding time and technological proficiency in developing diverse learning media and had not yet integrated sustainability issues; students also encountered obstacles when using existing learning media. Student analysis showed that 54.54% preferred worksheets, 24.24% desired media featuring videos or animations, and 90.90% (72.72% agreeing and 18.18% strongly agreeing) supported learning linked to environmental issues. Task analysis was based on the Phase E biology Learning Outcomes, with assignments formulated according to the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) syntax. Concept analysis covered ecosystem components, energy flow, and biogeochemical cycles, integrating SDG 15 indicators. The task and concept analyses served as the basis for formulating learning objectives. Consequently, it is concluded that the development of an SDG 15-integrated, PBL-based electronic student worksheet for the Phase E ecosystem topic is necessary to meet the need for interactive, contextual learning media that introduces sustainability issues.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the numeracy skills of Phase E students regarding the topic of biogeochemical cycles. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a posttest-only control group design. The sample consisted of an experimental class implementing the PBL model and a control class using Direct Instruction. The research instrument was a validated 30-item multiple-choice numeracy test. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and an independent samples t-test with the aid of SPSS. The results showed that the mean posttest score of the experimental class (83.89) was higher than that of the control class (75.93). Hypothesis testing yielded a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two classes. The implementation of the PBL model proved effective in enhancing students' numeracy skills through active engagement in problem-solving, discussion, and data analysis. Thus, the PBL model serves as an effective alternative instructional approach for improving students' numeracy skills in the study of biogeochemical cycles.

Abstract

Motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang memengaruhi keberhasilan pembelajaran Biologi karena berkaitan dengan keterlibatan, aktivitas, dan hasil belajar murid. Berbagai penelitian mengenai motivasi belajar pada pembelajaran Biologi dalam implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Fase E telah dilakukan, tetapi hasilnya masih tersebar pada berbagai publikasi ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis profil motivasi belajar murid dalam pembelajaran Biologi pada Kurikulum Merdeka Fase E berdasarkan model ARCS Keller dan indikator motivasi belajar menurut Hamzah B. Uno melalui pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Metode penelitian mengacu pada pedoman PRISMA 2020 dengan menganalisis sepuluh artikel ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar memiliki hubungan positif dengan aktivitas dan hasil belajar Biologi. Analisis berdasarkan model ARCS Keller dan indikator Hamzah B. Uno menunjukkan bahwa aspek attention, relevance, confidence, satisfaction, hasrat untuk berhasil, dorongan belajar, harapan masa depan, penghargaan, kegiatan belajar yang menarik, serta lingkungan belajar yang kondusif berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar murid. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar merupakan komponen penting dalam merancang pembelajaran Biologi yang aktif, efektif, dan berpusat pada murid sesuai dengan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu kompetensi penting dalam pembelajaran Biologi karena berkaitan dengan kemampuan siswa menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan menyelesaikan berbagai permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan dan lingkungan. Berbagai penelitian mengenai penerapan Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan pendekatan 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace) dalam pembelajaran Biologi telah dilakukan, namun hasilnya masih tersebar pada berbagai publikasi ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh model Problem Based Learning berbantuan 4R terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada pembelajaran Biologi melalui pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengacu pada pedoman PRISMA 2020 melalui analisis terhadap sepuluh artikel ilmiah yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan 4R memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dipadukan dengan pendekatan 4R mampu mendorong siswa berpikir kritis, melakukan penyelidikan, merumuskan solusi berdasarkan bukti ilmiah, serta meningkatkan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan sehingga berpotensi menjadi alternatif pembelajaran Biologi yang efektif.

Abstract

Topik bakteri merupakan salah satu topik biologi yang membutuhkan media pembelajaran untuk membantu siswa memahami konsepnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan media Quiz Card (Q-Card) berdasarkan metode Teams Games Tournament (TGT) untuk topik bakteri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Responden terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas 10 Fase E dan 2 guru biologi di SMAN 2 Batusangkar. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan analisis kebutuhan kuesioner dan dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan akan bahan terbuka, sebagaimana dilaporkan oleh siswa, memiliki persentase rata-rata 76% (kategori tinggi), sedangkan guru melaporkan 83% (kategori sangat tinggi). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa Q-Card berbasis TGT berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif untuk topik bakteri.

Abstract

Biology teaching requires teaching resources that can help pupils gain a deeper understanding of abstract and complex concepts. One possible solution is to develop e-LKM supported by Liveworksheets using a deep learning approach. This article aims to review findings from previous studies egarding e-LKM development, the implementation of Liveworksheets, and the application of the deep learning approach in learning. The study employed a literature review method, examining relevant journal articles published between 2022 and 2026. The findings show that the application of a deep learning approach in the development supports active, meaningful and student-centred learning while contributing to better conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. Furthermore, Livewroksheets facilitates the creation of interactive, practical and easily accessible e-LKM through multimedia features and digital assessment tools, thereby enhancing student engagement in learning. In Biology lessons, combining Liveworksheets with the deep learning approach can help present abstract and complex concepts in a more concrete manner. Consequently, e-LKM developed with the support of Liveworksheets and a deep learning approach can serve as an innovative alternative for promoting Biology learning that is more effective, interactive and meaningful.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami jenis motivasi belajar yang dimiliki oleh para siswa dalam pembelajaran Biologi yang menggunakan Kurikulum Merdeka, dengan cara membaca dan menganalisis berbagai sumber informasi yang relevan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan mengkaji artikel ilmiah dari jurnal nasional yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2018 dan 2025. Artikel dipilih berdasarkan kesesuaian isinya, relevansi dengan tujuan penelitian, dan ketersediaan akses yang terbuka. Data tersebut dianalisis dengan cara analisis isi, yaitu dengan memperhatikan tujuan penelitian, ciri-ciri motivasi belajar, latar belakang pembelajaran, indikator motivasi, serta temuan utama yang terdapat pada setiap artikel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka berhasil meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa. Hal ini dicapai melalui pendekatan pembelajaran yang fokus pada siswa, penggunaan metode pembelajaran inovatif seperti Project-Based Learning dan deep learning, serta pemberian kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menjelajahi materi sesuai dengan minat dan kemampuannya masing-masing. Motivasi belajar siswa dipengaruhi oleh bantuan dari guru, penggunaan berbagai macam alat pembelajaran, suasana belajar yang nyaman, serta ketertarikan siswa terhadap materi yang diajarkan. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa berada dalam kategori baik hingga tinggi, meskipun masih ada beberapa hambatan dalam penerapan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Biology learning needs to be conducted consciously, meaningfully, and joyfully by considering the characteristics of the material and the needs of students. This study aims to analyze the need for flashcard media development for game-based learning on fungi material for Phase E high school students. The study used a descriptive method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The study was conducted at SMAN 17 Padang for Phase E students. Data were collected using teacher and student needs questionnaires, then analyzed descriptively through percentages and grouping of open-ended answers. The results of the analysis show that Biology learning is still dominated by lectures and questions and answers with the use of media in the form of Student Activity Sheets and crosswords. The media used do not fully facilitate the activities of observing images, grouping concepts, recalling information discussing answers, and obtaining feedback. Therefore, flashcards are needed that present fungi material visually and concisely and are used in games that have goals, rules, challenges, turns, and feedback. The game is designed through the stages of memorize, recall, and examine. The results of the analysis indicate that the development of flashcards for game-based learning is needed to support more active, meaningful, and joyful Biology learning.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dikembangkan melalui pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model problem based learning terintegrasi socio scientific issues terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik melalui studi literatur. Kajian dilakukan terhadap 8 artikel ilmiah relevan yang dipublikasikan dalam rentang tahun 2020–2026 dan diperoleh melalui basis data ERIC, Garuda, dan Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kata kunci problem based learning, socio scientific issues dan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model problem based learning terintegrasi socio scientific issues berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Model problem based learning terintegrasi socio scientific issues efektif digunakan sebagai strategi pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

Abstract

Argumentation skills are one of the key competencies in biology education because they support students’ ability to express their opinions based on scientific evidence. Various studies on the implementation of STEAM-Project-Based Learning (STEAM-PjBL)-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) have been conducted, but the results remain scattered across various scientific publications. This study aims to analyze the effect of STEAM-PjBL-based LKPDs on students’ argumentation skills in biology learning through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research method followed the PRISMA 2020 guidelines by analyzing ten scientific articles that met the inclusion criteria. The results of the study indicate that STEAM-PjBL-based worksheets have a positive impact on students’ argumentation skills. Improvements were observed in the ability to formulate claims, present evidence, provide reasons, and defend arguments based on scientific data. The findings suggest that STEAM-PjBL-based worksheets are an effective teaching resource for supporting active, collaborative biology learning that is oriented toward the development of argumentation skills.
