Abstract

This research was conducted to find out how the implementation of the Roundtable cooperative learning model is significant to increase interest in learning Mathematics in Kelas VIII-2 in SMP Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan. The participants of this qualitative research were 28 students and the researcher himself was involved as a participant-observer. This research was conducted in two cycles and data collection did by observation and document analysis. The findings were then analyzed qualitatively by explaining and elaborating according to relevant theories. This study proves that the implementation of the Roundtable cooperative learning model significantly increased interest in learning Mathematics in Kelas VIII-2 in SMP Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan. The implementation of the cooperative learning model seems to be potential in increasing group working, communication skills, and learning outcomes of the students. However, heterogeneous groups seem to be important in group work to make the learning activities interesting and meaningful for students. Hence, relevant studies still recommended gaining significant and better findings.

Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted to find out how the implementation of the Think Pair Share Cooperative learning model is significant to increase students' motivation in learning science online in Kelas IX-1 in SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan. This research is a descriptive qualitative study conducted in two cycles with 22 students as participants and the researcher herself acted as a participant-observer in this study. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and document analysis, and the findings were then analyzed qualitatively based on relevant theories used in the study. This study found that the implementation of the Think Pair Share model can improve students’ learning outcomes in science in Kelas IX-1 in SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan. The implementation of the teaching method also improves students' ability in speaking and in critically thinking. However, the implementation of online classes expects the teacher's maximum effort in motivating students to involve in learning activities. Technical problems regarding online learning activities are still found challenging for teachers and students. Therefore, further study is recommended regarding the issues to find satisfactory findings.

Abstract

Educational games are considered interactive activities that should be just as motivating and engaging as regular digital games, but players will learn rather than just be entertained. Despite some limited success over the past few decades, educational games have failed to reach mainstream adoption or success. This chapter claims that such a failure is the result of poor design. Designers can create better educational games once they have a better understanding of how to design games. To this end, three aspects of game design are investigated to see how they relate to the design of successful games. Firstly, how players learn or come to understand something while playing a game. Secondly, how designers can ensure players remain motivated to play the game. Lastly, how both education and motivation should be considered from the perspective of gameplay

Abstract

The learning process that is usually carried out in schools or what is often referred to as the conventional learning system is now seen as less effective. In the current era of globalization, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is a requirement that is used as the basis for determining the quality and effectiveness of the learning process. Designing ICT-based IPS-Civics learning can help teachers or students in the learning process so that knowledge and learning materials can be conveyed to students properly. This research was obtained and collected through literature studies, which were carried out by literature review and from searches carried out on the internet via Google. ICT-based learning media, namely learning media in which all electronic components consist of hardware and software as well as all activities related to data processing, retrieval, collection (acquisition), processing, storage, dissemination, and presentation of information/data using computers and telecommunications. ICT-based learning media include: computer technology, multimedia, telecommunication, and computer network technology. The function of ICT in learning media is as a tool in learning media, learning facilities/places, as a source of learning, and as a means of increasing professionalism. The purpose of this research is to make it easier for teachers to develop learning designs that use information technology so that learning becomes less monotonous and more creative, especially in Social Studies and Internship learning which is often considered boring by students, using ICT-based learning designs will attract more students' attention keywords: Learning Design, Civics, and Social Studies, ICT (Instruction Computer Technology).

Abstract

Building problems are a regular occurrence, particularly in older residential buildings. One of the variables that contribute to a building's bad state is insufficient maintenance management. People are also responsible for the building's poor maintenance, with the authorities in charge of its conservation. The purpose of this study is to support customers and clients in their efforts to raise maintenance standards in Pakistan. This study works on the core ideas of construction management with a focus on using mobile to improve the effectiveness and standard of residential construction. The suggestions and observations included in the conclusions should be taken into account while performing such a task in action. An effective technique to do repairs and maintenance, which are constantly needed in buildings, particularly residential buildings, can be found in mobile applications. This study focuses on how mobile applications can improve work quality and reduce completion times.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the video-assisted Problem-based learning (PBL) model on cognitive and psychomotor aspects of learning outcomes in the question-and-answer indicators in science learning for Class V students at SD Negeri 31 Payakumbuh. This type of research is an experiment with a "posttest-only control design". The population in this study were all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 31 Payakumbuh for the 2022/2020 academic year. The sampling technique is Total Sampling. The research instrument was in the form of valid, reliable student science learning test questions, and student learning questionnaires on psychomotor aspects. Data on student learning outcomes were analyzed using the t-test at the 5% test level. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the Video Assisted Problem Based Learning Model on Science Learning Outcomes of Class V Students, in a statistical test t hit > t tab, namely 2.30 > 2.01. the average cognitive aspect of learning outcomes in the experimental class was 82.43 and in the control class 73.03. The science learning outcomes of students in the psychomotor aspect on the indicator asking the experimental class were 65.32% and the control was 59.80%, and the indicator answering the experimental class was 83.06% and the control was 75%. It can be concluded that the application of the video-assisted Problem-Based Learning model has an effect on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 31 Payakumbuh in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. It is suggested that teachers who teach science in elementary schools can apply the video-assisted Problem-Based Learning model to different science materials to improve the learning process.
