Abstract

The preliminary test research in the active compounds of plants are needed. The preliminary test often known as phytochemical screening is the qualitative test for the review of secondary metabolites content determine in group samples. Nowadays, Indonesian society starts to publish the heritage about traditional medicine, using plant or animal species, thus came the term "Back to Nature" but still many plants are known yet about the content of secondary metabolites based on qualitative and quantitative.  It should be carried out research related to content and activities of certain medicinal plants. The training screening candidates phytochemical medicinal plants for high school teachers gave the positive impact  to review and conduct the simple research especially medicinal plants (ethnobotany and chemistry natural materials). A total of twenty participants were attended  the training activities. The training activities was run well.

Teachers have difficulty in searching references / libraries in various sources. As well as teachers experiencing obstacles in terms of sending publications. This service program aims to resolve the above problems through training activities in research methodology and mentoring to publish their work and direct the teacher to the journal to be addressed.  The method used for solutions to problems faced by teachers and to support the success of the program is in the form of lectures, question and answer, demonstrations and practice / writing. Participants who have participated in the training will immediately practice the results of the training they get and make scientific papers with the guidance of the trainers so that participants can make scientific papers well. Keywords: papers, teacher professional development, SMPN Sentani

Abstract

Training on developing physics learning media for high school physics teachers in Abepura and surrounding areas was carried out on 15 and 16 August 2019 at computer laboratory of physics department. The aim of the training is to motivate and improve the ability of teachers to create virtual learning media as alternative physic learning media so as to improve the quality of teaching and physics learning.  The method used to support the success of this program is in the form of training, demonstration and practice or tutorial using matlab program. The results of the implementation of service activities felt by the team and the training participants were very satisfying, with indicators of participant activity in each activity process, and participating in training enthusiastically. The training of create  physics learning media for senior high school teachers in the community service program that has been implemented is expected to provide understanding and also the ability of teachers to design physics learning media using computers that will have an impact on increasing teaching and learning productivity and professionalism of physics teachers in senior high school. Keywords: learning media, Matlab, physic teachers

Abstract

This service was carried out with the title of Implementation of Science and Technology Of The Minister's Circular Letter No. 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Education during the Covid Period. The activity was carried out to partners in Perumnas 1 Waena State Elementary School, due to the constraints of teachers who have not understood the implementation of learning that can be done in accordance with government directives through The Minister's Circular Letter No. 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Policies and Education in the Emergency Period of Corona Virus Disease Spread (Covid 19). Through this circular, learning methods in the covid-19 pandemic can be done online to minimize crowds or physical distancing efforts, which so far the team of servicemen meets learning methods are still done offline (face-to-face) because some teachers have not mastered online learning applications so that with the expertise possessed the serviceman can do the application of science and technology. The implementation of this devotion is carried out by the presentation of government discretionary materials through the implementation arrangements of distance education, discussions, and technical guidance in the operation of online learning methods, namely using the Zoom application, Whatsapp, Google Classroom, Google Meet, Google Drive and several other supporting applications by paying attention to the covid-19 protocol and assistance to partners in implementing online learning methods. The externality of this devotion is the increasing knowledge of partners about the implementation of learning in accordance with the Circular Letter of Minister No. 4 of 2020 in terms of learning using online methods in the covid-19 pandemic period, to break the chain of the spread of covid-19. Keywords: circular; covid-19 pandemic; online learning

Abstract

GKI Martin Luther Sentani is one of the churches located in Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. GKI Martin Luther's congregation consists of four elements, one of which is the Children and Youth Association (PAR). From the results of discussions and interviews with several Sunday School teachers, information was obtained that the parents of Sunday School children complained when their children asked about lessons in formal schools, especially science subjects. When children offer assignments or homework from school, sometimes parents spontaneously asked the children to ask other people, especially assignments or homework for math subjects. of course, this problem is very important to find a solution considering that mathematics is a basic science. It is also known that Sunday School teachers are also often the place for Sunday School children to ask questions about assignments or homework from formal schools, especially about geometry. If faced with questions from Sunday School children about geometry, only some of sunday school teachers who can explain it.  The explanation from the Sunday school teacher also sometimes makes children confused or difficult to understand what is explained. Taking into account the problems faced by Sunday School children, Sunday School teachers, in this case the PAR GKI Executive Board (BP) Martin Luther Sentani Church and the community service team, consider it necessary to hold activities that involve Sunday School children. The purpose of this activity is to inform or introduce geometry through concrete media as well as identifying the nature and elements of geometry and to hone Sunday school children's creations in learning about geometry through concrete media using paper and straws. Implementation of this service using several methods, that are the lecture, question and answer, and demonstrations.  With this service activity, the participant’s knowledge about the concept or theory of geometry does not only come from textbooks but also through concrete media so that learning becomes fun. Apart from that, it sharpens the participant's creations in learning mathematics, especially in learning geometry. Keywords:  mathematics learning; geometry; creation Jayapura

Abstract

The use of learning media can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the learning process. The solutions offered to partners are; help partners illustrate something abstract in mathematics that requires visualization or animation in writing, especially in the form of images. The methods used for solutions to problems faced by partners and to support the success of the program are in the form of lectures, questions and answers, demonstrations and exercises/practices. Participants who have attended the training will put into practice directly the results of the training they received and create learning media with the guidance of the trainer so that participants can create interactive mathematics learning media using Macromedia Flash, and can develop their work according to their imagination. The results of the implementation of PKM activities were felt by the service team and the training participants were very satisfying. With an indicator of the arrival of participants in each meeting and the enthusiasm of the participants.
