Abstract

Umar ibn Khattab is one of the four khulafa 'al-Rashidin who is famous for his stories of courage, firmness, and fierce impression. The identity of Umar's character is more popular than his political steps that are beneficial to Muslims. For this reason, this simple research tries to reveal the innovations and reforms of thought initiated by Umar al-Faruq, which include political, economic, and social-social ijtihad. In this research, the method used is a qualitative method by examining primary sources in the form of hadith atsar of the Companions, Date books, and secondary sources from journals, articles, and previous studies. The collected data will be analysed and described descriptively. Among the results of this research, it is known that Umar bravely broke down the old system while still maintaining the principles of the Quran and the Prophet. The reforms made by Umar were very significant for the development of Muslims, and their impact can still be felt today

Abstract

Every letter in the Qur'an has a purpose, including the letter al-Muzzammil. According to Wahbah Az-Zuhaili in Tafsir Al-Munir, explained that Surah Al-Muzammil as a letter that was revealed in the early days of Islam consisting of 20 verses contains three themes, each of which contains spiritual values. Through Maqashidi analysis, these values are maqashid surah which includes maqashid Tawhid, worship, sincerity, humility, patience, and morality. The maqashid became the initial provision for Muslims in the early days of Muhammad's apostleship as a universal value that guided the life of Muslims from the time of the Companions to the end of time.

Abstract

As a symbolic universe, Islamic religious texts in the form of the Qur'an and hadith are not only meant to be read and interpreted (informative function), but also to live within society (performative function). This study explores the phenomenon of the living Qur'an and hadith within the local Muhammadiyah community, an organization often labeled as anti-cultural. In 2002, Muhammadiyah developed the concept of cultural da'wah, which incorporates culture as a strategy for da'wah and provides space for cultural expression. This article examines the phenomenon of welcoming Ramadan 1438 Hijriah by the Tamantirto Muhammadiyah Branch in Yogyakarta, who performed a wayang play titled Wahyu Makutharama. This study found that the wayang performance, combined with Quranic recitations, served as a medium for da'wah, fostering ukhuwah, and providing spiritual recreation. During the performance, verses from the Qur'an were recited, and religious values derived from hadith texts regarding welcoming Ramadan, the qualities of a leader, and the obligation to seek knowledge were conveyed.

Abstract

The preferred choice of understanding the Hajj verses is in a very limited time, even though these verses show flexibility in the time of implementation, namely in 3 months, namely Shawwal, Dzulqa'dah and Dzulhijjah. According to Masdar, expanding the time for the Hajj must be implemented by Muslims today by returning to the understanding of the verses regarding the flexibility of time as understood from the verses, however, Masdar's understanding is considered rare and difficult to accept by the majority of Islamic scholars with evidence to date that the application of the Hajj verses still indicates limited pilgrimage time. At this point it is necessary to trace the sources, methods and contributions of Masdar Farid Mas'udi's thoughts in understanding the Hajj verses. To handle this research problem, researchers used contextual interpretation theory, using a socio-historical approach. The results of the research are 1) the ideas of Masdar Farid Mas'udi (Surat al-Baqarah verse 197) which refers to the classical mufassir era, to be precise, four schools of thought are true, namely the months of Shawwal, Dzulqa'dah and Dzulhijjah. It's just that this month is understood as an extension of the ihram time, while the Hajj is still carried out on 8-13 Dzulhijjah; 2) the interpretation method used by Masdar F.M. Abstract

This article raises issues related to the development of increasingly sophisticated technology with the aim of making human life more flexible and enjoyable with the presence of Artificial Intelligence. The ease of accessing all work can make people forget their existence as God's perfect creatures and it is easier to deny the order that is in accordance with Kalamullah. The presence of I'jaz Ilmi is to show the greatness of the Al-Qur'an regarding the scientific facts hinted at by the Book of Allah. The method use in this paper is descriptive-qualitative-historical which prioritizes the decomposition of data based on historical sequence combined with library research. The results of this research are that the study of i'jaz ilmi based on scientific facts in the Qur'an has been proven that the book brought by Muhammad was not an encyclopedia of science, but in the centuries since the revelation of the Qur'an it has answered future problems such as the occurrence of humans originating from soil/thin which in the science of emberiology developed in 19th century. Miracles regarding scientific facts in the Qur'an provide a signal to humanity to take lessons or i'tibar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengangkat tema pengembangan diri (self-improvement). Islam sendiri lebih mengenalnya dengan sebutan muḥāsabah 'ala nafs. Penelitian tentang ayat-ayat tidak aman akan dimaknai secara menurut oleh Bisri Mustofa dalam kitab tafsirnya, kemudian dikolaborasikan dengan gagasan Imam al-Ghazali pada bab pengawasan serta introspeksi diri melalui enam langkah yakni musyāraṭah, murāqabah, muḥāsabah, mu'āqabah, mujāhadah, dan mu' āṭabah. Fokus penelitian ini adalah bagaimana konsep perbaikan diri digambarkan dalam kitab Tafsir al-Ibriz dan bagaimana memaksimalkan pengembangan diri pada masa ini. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif-deskriptif di mana pada proses penafsirannya menggunakan metode tematik-konseptual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya Ayat-ayat yang berisi perintah untuk memperbaiki diri sendiri, manfaatnya, dan bagaimana perilakunya saat ini; dapat menggunakan waktu dengan maksimal, memanusiakan manusia, menghapus rasa rendah diri, tidak mudah berputus asa serta dapat memilih berita yang sesuai kebenarannya.

Abstract

Jadal or debate in the Qur'an is a complex and structured process of discussion, in which arguments, critical thinking, and logic are used to explore the truth and strengthen beliefs. The Qur’an teaches the principles of healthy and fair debate, such as the use of strong evidence, rejection of inappropriate arguments, and respect for the debater. The contemporary implementation of jadal refers to applying the principles of debate taught by the Qur'an in a contemporary context. This involves the use of fact-based arguments, respect for dissent, and the ability to develop a deep understanding of complex issues. By adopting the Qur’anic values of Jadal, modern society can develop critical thinking skills, enhance intercultural dialogue, and create a more productive and meaningful discussion environment. This article uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study design. Data were collected through literature searches using academic databases, some of books, and sources indexed by Sinta, Semantic Scholar and Google Scholar. The data was analysed descriptively by summarising and organising the findings from the selected literature. It was found that jadal has several definitions, types, methods, and its implementation in today's world, especially in the digital era.

Abstract

The duality of the role of Tahfiz students in Indonesia is increasingly widespread with the existence of Islamic boarding schools, especially Tahfiz Islamic boarding schools, which are starting to integrate the Tahfiz program with formal schools. One of the interesting boarding schools for research is Pondok Modern Darul Hikmah which integrates the tahfiz program with formal schools while emphasizing the use of Arabic and English as languages ​​of daily communication. In this way, the tahfiz students of Pondok Modern Darul Hikmah have two important roles that must be carried out. From this research, researchers found that the dual role of Islamic boarding school students at Pondok Modern Darul Hikmah (as memorizers of the Qur'an as well as students) is indeed difficult, but they can carry it out with balance and full responsibility. Even though there are several factors that become obstacles, they can still get good academic grades without neglecting their memorization targets
