Abstract

The mortality rate for children with a diagnosis of acute kidney injury after consuming syrup preparations in Indonesia is very high. The number of syrup preparations in Indonesia found to be contaminated with Ethylene glycol (EG) or Diethylene glycol (DEG) reached 116 syrup products. There are three issues that will be investigated as a result of the contaminated syrup: (1) the public response to the policies and responsibilities of regulators (the Indonesian Ministry of Health and the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM), (2) the public response to pharmacies in delivering safe medicines to patients, and (3) the public response to pharmacists who are responsible for the practice of pharmaceutical services in pharmacies. This research method is a qualitative descriptive study using a Google form questionnaire which is analyzed using the Guttman scale. The questionnaire meets the qualifications in testing the validity, reliability and normality of research data. The results showed that the level of public trust in the government (Ministry of Health and BPOM) was low, while the level of trust in pharmaceutical facilities at pharmacies and pharmacists was still quite above average.

Abstract

The Global Nutrition Report (2020) stated that stunting is a nutrional problem in children and there are 7,8 million stunted children out of 23 million children in the world. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is 24.4%. WHO targeted less than 20% stunting cases in 2024 globally. Parenting styles for toddlers contribute to stunting. Toddlers immunization status and the exclusive breast-feeding are examples of parenting styles. This study aimed to analyze risk factors influencing stunting based on parenting. Case Control approach was used in this study. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling and mothers have stunted 1-5 years old children as case group). Comparison Ratio 1:1 with the control group. Statistical analysis was carried out using the chi-square test (2x2), with an expected value of more than 20%, the Fisher's exact test is used.Multivariate analysis with logistic regression analysis, measuring the effect of a namely the stunting risk assessment. The nominal scale 2 categories, stunting and not stunting. Risk factors of stunting resulted from logistic regression analysis (p>0.05) are nutritional status, exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, immunization status, infectious diseases, and low birth weight. Stunting can be stopped by improving child feeding, improving women's nutrition and household sanitation.

Abstract

Various efforts have been made to prevent Covid-19, but they have not made us utterly free from Covid-19 and can live normally again as before the pandemic. An integrated model is needed to improve public health behavior in preventing Covid-19 through increasing public awareness, health services, and appropriate legal regulations. Concurrent embedded mixed methods analysis was used, where quantitative and qualitative data were taken simultaneously and then analyzed to conclude. The Quantitative data measuring public health behavior is based on a health belief model questionnaire with a sample of 235 people. Qualitative data measuring health services and legal regulations were conducted using structured interview techniques with nine respondents as heads of Health service and sub-district leaders in Batubara Regency, selected by purposive sampling based on urban and rural areas. Correlation analysis between variables obtained correlation results with a weak relationship (r = 0.21-0.40), namely perceptions of vulnerability, severity, self-ability, instructions for action, and knowledge. Meanwhile, the perception of benefits and barriers has a moderate correlation (r=0.41-0.60). The results of multivariate correlation showed only four variables that have a correlation, namely perceptions of obstacles, benefits, instructions for action, and knowledge. Health services through preventive, promotive, and curative measures are classified as good, but the application of legal regulations still needs to be improved, so the results are not optimal. Efforts to improve legal regulations must consistently increase public awareness in preventing Covid-19 in Batubara Regency.

Abstract

The world health agency or WHO issued a statement that the deaths that occur in mothers in the world are on average due to complications during pregnancy and also the delivery process. And in 2017 alone there were around 810 cases. Even though from the beginning of 2000 until now there has been a decrease in cases of up to around 38%, the mortality rate of pregnant women continues to be a concern of the World Health Organization. The statement also stated that the deaths received by these pregnant women globally occur in countries that have low GDP and middle income. Indonesia is one of the countries with a high rate of maternal mortality due to complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Assistance during labor and also during pregnancy must be a concern for medical personnel and also health workers. It is hoped that these medical personnel can provide skills and are also trained in treating pregnant women. Complete health facilities can be one way to reduce maternal and child mortality. Pregnant women must also have education, awareness and information about the importance of prenatal checks for medical personnel. Service on the community side of course has the aim of increasing the knowledge of pregnant women about anemia and early detection of complications in pregnancy. Education and information regarding early detection of pregnancy complications is the main concern of the Siabu Health Center, Mandailing Natal Regency.

Abstract

Episiotomy is a rupture made in the perinea between the vaginal open and the anus to release the baby. Episiotomy is not recommended because it may lead to an increase in the amount of blood lost. The number of events in the field of obstetrics around the world in 2009 accrued 2.7 million cases of perineal rupture wounds in mothers. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship of episiotomy in labor to the incidence of perineal rupture in the maternal mother at the Ernita maternity clinic. This research is quantitative research with analytical design. The population in this research is all maternal mothers at Ernita maternity hospital as many as 95 people. The sampling technique used in this research is the total population that is sampling from all mother maternity data. The results showed that of 54 people (57%) who performed the episiotomy action in the majority of labor perineal rupture that is as many as 35 people (37%). Chi-square test results there is a relationship between episiotomy in labor to the incidence of perineal rupture in the maternal maternal mother where the p value is 0.040 <0.05. It is desirable for midwives to reduce the action of episiotomy by doing proper labor delivery.
