Abstract

Cost is one of the primary determinants of project implementation, as contractors must estimate the required budget to execute a project and prepare competitive bids to increase their chances of winning the tender. In practice, contractors do not always prepare the project cost estimate based entirely on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) cost analysis. Instead, they frequently estimate the project budget using field-based volume calculations and practical experience to predict the overall construction cost. A project cost estimate (Rencana Anggaran Biaya/RAB) is defined as the calculation of the costs required for materials, labor, equipment, and indirect expenses associated with project implementation. This study was conducted on the periodic maintenance project of the Bayu–Meuraksa Road in Syamtalira Bayu District, North Aceh Regency, with a total road length of 2,660 meters. The project was financed through the 2022 North Aceh Special Allocation Fund (DAK) with a contract value of IDR 5,172,419,000 under Contract No. 620/08/2022 dated February 18, 2022. The project was executed by CV. Jasa Kubina Cemerlang under the supervision of CV. Kreasi Pratama Consultant. This research aims to estimate the implementation cost of the road maintenance project by calculating direct costs, including material costs, labor costs, and equipment costs. The data were analyzed using the Work Unit Price Analysis (AHSP) Guidelines for Public Works issued by the Directorate General of Highways (Bina Marga) in 2018. The expected outcome of this study is to determine the difference between the Contractor's Budget Plan (RAP) and the Owner's Cost Estimate (RAB) for the road maintenance project

Abstract

Road pavement plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of transportation and supporting regional economic development, particularly in response to the increasing volume and axle loads of heavy vehicles. Therefore, improving the quality and durability of pavement structures is essential to ensure their long-term performance under heavy traffic conditions. One potential approach is the development of innovative asphalt mixture materials to enhance pavement performance. This study aims to evaluate the effect of incorporating fresh heavy-duty engine oil (Meditran SC 15W-40) on the Marshall characteristics of Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) hot mix. The research was conducted experimentally at the Asphalt Pavement Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Almuslim. The optimum asphalt content was determined to be 5.74%, while the aggregate specimens were immersed in fresh engine oil for varying durations of 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 minutes. The evaluated Marshall parameters included stability, flow, Marshall Quotient (MQ), bulk density, Void in the Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), and Void Filled with Asphalt (VFA). The experimental results demonstrated that the Marshall stability increased with longer immersion durations, reaching the highest value of 1,300 kg after 40 minutes of immersion. Furthermore, all Marshall parameters satisfied the technical specifications established by the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works (2014). These findings indicate that the application of fresh heavy-duty engine oil as an aggregate immersion medium has the potential to serve as an innovative approach for enhancing the mechanical performance of AC-WC mixtures, resulting in greater strength, improved stability, and enhanced resistance to heavy traffic loading

Abstract

The important role of heavy equipments in completing a project makes implementation time management effective and efficient, the selection of heavy equipment must be right in terms of type, size and quantity. Incorrect selection of heavy equipment resulting in delays in completion of construction projects. It is known that to achieve or determine the performance of heavy equipment, it requires to consider various factors, including working conditions, type and capacity of heavy equipments, work methods of heavy equipments, and theory of calculation of heavy equipment productivity. This show that the use of heavy equipment is a complex problem. The purpose of this research was to find out the amount of time management is needed in working on earthworks (division III), granular pavement (division V) and asphalt pavement (division VI) on the road structure improvement project of Mon Jeureujak – Tanjong Raya, Gandapura District, Bireuen regency. The data processing technique used in this research was the calculation of heavy equipment productivity using the Estimate Index Analysis method formula and heavy equipment time scheduling using the methods of Barchart and the Network Planning. This research was conducted based on references from previous research. From the research results, the time needed for heavy equipment in each division item to complete earthworks (division III) was 2 working days, for granular pavements (division V) was 52 working days and asphalt pavement work (division VI) was 5 working days.. Based on calculations using these two methods, it can be concluded that the length of time for using heavy equipment in division III, V and VI was 59 working days

Abstract

This study aims to classify soil in Wih Pesam District, Bener Meriah Regency, using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). Soil classification is essential for construction planning as it affects stability and bearing capacity. Samples were collected from four villages-Kebun Baru, Wih Pesam, Wonosobo, and Pante Raya-with three points in each location. Laboratory tests included water content, Atterberg limits, grain size distribution, and bulk density. The results showed an average water content of 61.5%, liquid limit of 33.95%, plastic limit of 55.01%, grain gradation of 21.85%, and bulk density of 1.46. All samples were identified as coarse-grained soils dominated by sand, with more than 50% retained on the No. 200 sieve. Based on grain size analysis and coefficients (Cu and Cc), the soil is classified as poorly graded sand (SP). These findings provide local soil data that can support infrastructure design in the study area

Abstract

Road infrastructure plays a vital role in supporting the movement of goods and services as well as improving connectivity between regions. This study focuses on the Gunung Salak–KKA road section, specifically at STA 44+000 to STA 45+500 in North Aceh Regency. The research aims to evaluate the geometric design of the road, particularly the vertical alignment, to ensure it meets technical standards and provides safety and comfort for road users. Data collection was conducted using waterpass and GPS instruments, and further processed using Google Earth, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD 2007. The analysis shows that the existing road segment has a slope exceeding 10%, which does not comply with the standard specified in the Geometric Design Guidelines for Intercity Roads No. 03/BM/2018, where the maximum allowable slope is 10%. The evaluation of the vertical alignment identified four vertical curves, consisting of two convex curves and two concave curves. The findings indicate that the current road geometry requires improvement to enhance safety and service performance for traffic flow

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the bearing capacity of mini pile piles in the Fandika General Hospital construction project with various dimensions of 20×20 cm, 25×25 cm, and 30×30 cm at a depth of 13 m, using the Meyerhof empirical method based on Cone Penetration Test (CPT) data. The problem formulations raised include: how to calculate the bearing capacity of piles with various dimensions based on CPT data, and  the most optimal pile dimensions used from a technical and efficiency perspective. The objectives of the study are to obtain the ultimate bearing capacity (Pu) value for each dimension variation and to determine the most appropriate dimensions for the project field conditions. The data used consist of primary data in the form of CPT test results and foundation design drawings, as well as secondary data such as pile specifications with K-300 concrete quality. The calculation of bearing capacity is carried out by dividing the contribution of end bearing and skin friction. The analysis results show a maximum load capacity of 34.67 tons for a 20x20 cm pile, 54.17 tons for a 25x25 cm pile, and 78.00 tons for a 30x30 cm pile. Increasing the dimensions from 20x20 to 25x25 cm results in a capacity increase of approximately 56%, while increasing the capacity from 20x20 to 30x30 cm by approximately 125%. The conclusion of this study indicates that variations in pile dimensions significantly influence bearing capacity. The larger the cross-sectional dimensions, the larger the tip and circumference area of the pile, which increases both the tip bearing capacity and the bedding friction. The results of this study are expected to serve as a technical reference for designing similar building foundations, considering the balance between bearing capacity requirements, cost efficiency, implementation methods, and local soil conditions.

Abstract

Driving safety is a crucial aspect of transportation systems, particularly at unsignalized intersections, which are prone to accidents due to the lack of traffic control. This study aims to analyze road users' perceptions of driving safety at the Alue Peunyareng unsignalized intersection in Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency, by considering demographic factors (age and gender), education level, and the effectiveness of infrastructure such as road markings, traffic signs, and lighting. A quantitative descriptive approach was used, with questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using a likert scale to measure perception indices for each studied variable. The results indicate that perceptions of driving safety vary based on age and gender, with an index score of 76.85%. The adult age group scored 78%, and female respondents (60%) showed higher levels of awareness. Additionally, road users with higher education levels had an index score of 80.45%, indicating better understanding of driving risks. Road infrastructure, with an index score of 83.05%, especially signs and markings, was perceived as significantly contributing to improved safety at the intersection. Other aspects such as user behavior, physical conditions of the intersection, and the surrounding environment also play a role in shaping perception and comfort in driving. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of transportation policies that are more responsive to road users’ needs and field conditions, thereby enhancing safety at accident-prone intersections
