Abstract

There were some problems that students faced when speaking, such as: difficult in conveying their ideas, lack of vocabulary, incorrect pronunciation, and the strategy that used by the teacher that monotonous and boring. The purpose of this research was to improve the students' speaking skills through Talking Stick Strategy at the tenth grade of SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli in 2022/2023. The researcher conducted this research by using Classroom Action Research (CAR). Instrument of the research were observation sheets, field notes and oral test. In Cycle I, the average percentage of the researcher's completed activities was 79% (good), and the percentage of the students' completed activities was 72.5% (adequate). In this cycle, the students could not achieve the Minimum Competence Criterion (MCC) of 70, students' average score was 51 (less). All the students scored ≤ 70, with the highest score was 63 and the lowest score was 38. Furthermore, in Cycle II, the average percentage of the researcher's completed activities was 95% (very good), and the students' completed activities was 91% (very good). In this cycle, the students had achieved the Minimum Competence Criterion (MCC) of 70, the students' average score was 79 (good). None of the students scored ≤ 70, with the highest score was 81 and the lowest score was 75. Based on the results of this research, the researcher concluded that Talking Stick Strategy could improve the students' speaking skill in the tenth grade of SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli in 2022/2023.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze whether the content of “Bahasa Inggris SMA” textbook in the part of its speaking material is in line with Dat Bao’s theory. This research used descriptive research type with the content analysis. The data was English textbook “Bahasa Inggris SMA” used by eleventh grade students of SMA Swasta Santu Xaverius Gunungsitoli that consist of eight Chapters. The research instruments were textbook evaluation sheet and interview sheet. The data was then analyzed by using assessment rubric of Dat Bao’s theory that consists of four main aspects, namely; linguistic support, content-based and affective support, skill support, and diversity and flexibility. Thereafter, the researcher presented the data with percentage of scoring and interpreted it into a description paragraph. The result of study showed that English textbook “Bahasa Inggris SMA” did not successfully fulfill Dat Bao’s theory, where the linguistic support was (73.95%), content-based and affective support (48.43%), skill support (70.31%), and diversity and flexibility (58.31%). The percentage showed that it was still lacking of linguistic input in pronunciation section, lacking of supporting students’ cultural and visuals that support verbal learning, lacking of supporting communicative functions and strategies, and lacking of variety of speaking activities. From the research findings, the researcher suggested that the textbook needs to be developed in terms of its content of speaking materials. Subsequently, both ELT teacher and textbook writer should concern and pay attention with the content of the textbook suggested by Dat Bao’s theory.

Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze the students’ writing competence in descriptive text by using Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) at the tenth grade of SMK Swasta Cahaya Lahewa. This research used descriptive research type with PWIM model. The data was students’ writing descriptive text by tenth grade of SMK Swasta Cahaya Lahewa. The instruments that used to collect the data were observation sheet and interview sheet. The data was analyzed by using writing scoring rubric that consist of five main aspects, namely: content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. Furthermore, the researcher presented the data with percentage of scoring and described it into a description paragraph. The result of study showed that students’ writing descriptive text by using PWIM had not fulfilled the requirements needed, where the content was (77%), organization was (75%), vocabulary was (86%), language use was (74%), and mechanics was (69%). The percentage showed that the students were difficult to organize the ideas, lack of vocabulary and training when implemented PWIM and also environmental influence such motivation and interest in writing. Based on the results of this research, the researcher concluded that the implementation of PWIM was not appropriate in students’ writing descriptive text because of the low ability of students, particularly at the tenth grade of SMK Swasta Cahaya Lahewa.

Abstract

In the initial study, information was obtained that there was no development of teaching materials in accordance with the demands of technological developments. Besides that, in fact the use of e-module teaching materials in training is still minimal. For this reason, it is necessary to develop this e-module to assist the learning process. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of the developed e-module. The type of research used is development research. The development of e-modules in this study uses the ADDIE model. The ADDIE development model consists of five stages, namely the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. At the analysis stage, a needs analysis is carried out, such as an analysis of the curriculum, teaching materials, and materials. In the design phase, an interactive e-module development design plan was created. The development stage in this research is e-module development, review, expert validation test, namely media experts, design experts, and material experts. The implementation stage in this study is the implementation of e-module trials in learning activities. E-module trials were carried out in small groups and large groups. At the evaluation stage, a questionnaire was given to the responses of the training participants. The validation results of the MTs ICT Training e-module by design experts, media experts and material experts obtained successive percentages of 90%, 88% and 86.5% which were declared very valid. The MTs ICT Training E-module received very good responses from the training participants in small and large group trials with successive percentages of 86.5% and 85.83%, this shows that the E-module is effective for use. From the results of the paired t-test using SPSS statistical software, a p-value of 0.00 was obtained which indicated that there was a significant average difference between the pre-test and post-test values in the large group trial.

Abstract

This development research aims to: (1) produce teaching material products in the form of Competency Mapping and Indicator Mapping Training Subject E-Modules; (2) find out the feasibility of teaching materials in the form of Competency Mapping and Indicators Training Subject E-Modules, (3) find out the effectiveness of teaching materials in the form of Competency Mapping and Indicators Training Subject E-Modules. The development of e-modules in this study uses the ADDIE model. The ADDIE development model consists of five stages, namely the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results of validation of the competency mapping e-module and indicators by design experts obtained a percentage of 92% and was declared very valid. The results of the validation of the competency mapping e-module and indicators by media experts obtained a percentage of 92%, and was declared very valid. The results of validation of the competency mapping e-module and indicators by material experts obtained percentages of 93% and 91%, and were declared very valid. The competence mapping e-module and indicators obtained very good responses from the training participants in small and large group trials with successive percentages of 82% and 83.88%. There is a significant difference between the post test and pre test scores. In the small group trial, the average post-test score was 10.80 points higher than the pre-test score, while in the large group trial, the average post-test score was 32.56 points higher than the pre-test score.

Abstract

This study focuses on the existence of significant differences in the ability to understand concepts between students who are taught by contextual teaching and learning and cooperative learning methods, there are significant differences in the ability to understand concepts between students who have a concrete sequential thinking style, abstract sequential, concrete random, and abstract randomization, as well as the interaction between learning methods and thinking styles on the ability to understand the concepts of Civics subjects for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 57 and 49 Surabaya. This type of research is experimental research. Quasi-experimental research design using a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study were class VIII students of SMP Negeri 57 and 49 Surabaya for the 2022/2023 academic year. The research sample used a sampling technique with details of 72 students in the experimental class and 70 students in the control class. The data collection method is to use a student thinking style test instrument and a test of the ability to understand "Strengthening National Commitment." Methods of data analysis using Two Way Anava. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference between the treatment of students who are taught using the contextual teaching and learning method compared to the cooperative learning method. There are differences in the ability to understand concepts in students who have concrete sequential, abstract sequential, random concrete, and random abstract thinking styles between groups of students who are treated with the contextual teaching and learning method compared to the cooperative learning method. There is interaction between learning methods and thinking styles on the ability to understand concepts as a result of each different characteristic of each student in terms of their respective thinking styles.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a Canva-based Indonesian Folklore Text Teaching Material in facilitating students as an interesting source of information with Indonesian subject matter so that it can improve student learning outcomes of Class VII SMP Surabaya Grammar School in teaching and learning activities in language subjects Indonesia. The research model used in this study is the ADDIE model. The selection of this model is based on the consideration that this model is easy to understand, developed systematically, and is based on the theoretical foundation of the developed learning design. This model is structured programmatically with systematic activities in an effort to solve learning problems related to learning media according to the needs and characteristics of students. The stages of research on the ADDIE model consist of five stages which include analysis, design, research, implementation, evaluation. The research process involved subject content experts, design experts and media experts to provide feedback, input and improvements. In addition, Indonesian language teachers and Surabaya Grammar School Middle School students as users of Canva-based Indonesian Folklore Text Teaching Materials also provided their comments and input. The use of Canva-based Indonesian Folklore Text Teaching Materials with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages which include analysis, design, research, implementation, evaluation for Indonesian subjects. which can effectively promote active and engaging learning. The results of this study are Canva-based Indonesian Folklore Text Teaching Materials which have a feasibility level of 95% for material, 94% for design feasibility, and 93% for media feasibility. While the small group trial rate is 90% and based on field trials 92% with very decent qualifications and does not need to be revised.

Abstract

Differences in student learning outcomes become a reference in drawing research conclusions. The learning outcomes are grouped based on two variables. Learning outcomes based on the application of learning models and learning outcomes based on the level of learning motivation possessed by students. The type of research used is experimental research. Data collection using written tests and questionnaires. Written test instruments are used to collect data in the form of student learning outcomes. This test is given before learning activities begin and at the end of learning. The questionnaire instrument was used to collect data in the form of students' motivational values and was given before the learning activities began. Furthermore, the research data were analyzed using Two-way Anava. This study has three hypotheses. Based on the results of data processing, it was found that the first hypothesis was accepted, namely that there were differences in the effect of the learning model on student learning outcomes; the second hypothesis is accepted, namely that there is an influence of learning motivation on student learning outcomes; and the third hypothesis is rejected, which means there is no interaction with the Flipped Learning and Direct Learning models and learning motivation on student learning outcomes in English subjects. Suggestions that can be conveyed through this research are that this kind of research should be carried out with a longer research period, using different materials and at different levels. It is possible to obtain generalization of research results. The use of more interesting learning media and effective learning plans will greatly assist in the learning process.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations made at SDN 1 Hadiluwih Kec. Ngadirojo, Kab. Pacitan. The learning activities carried out are less effective, this is due to the learning activities caused by the learning method which is still monotonous with lectures without using the media as a supporting tool. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) and this research is in collaboration with tutor teachers as well as homeroom teachers for class III SDN 1 Hadiluwih. The subjects in this study were class III students at SDN 1 Hadilwuih Kec. Ngadirojo, Kab. Pacitan. Data collection techniques consisted of observation and posttest questions and there were four stages in the research conducted, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The above problems lead to the need for creative and innovative learning media to improve student learning outcomes. Learning media that is easy and can be created by educators is audiovisual media which is able to have a big influence on learning activities. This makes students experience lagging behind and has an impact on the learning outcomes of students, the majority of whose learning outcomes are under the KKM. The results of the data from pre-cycle with KKM 75, only 30.76% of students who can fulfill the achievement of mastery. In Cycle I there was an increase in students' learning achievement which reached 53.84%. The percentage almost reached the expected target even though there were several points that students had not understood. In cycle II 84.61% The percentage obtained has reached the expected target. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in learning activities using audiovisual media.

Abstract

Institutionalization of village mediation is a strategic and synergistic endeavor with efforts to build a justice system in Indonesia. Especially in the perspective of access to justice for people in rural areas who experience disputes. Based on Law Number 6 of 2014, there are regulations that provide space and creativity for villages to institutionalize village mediation as "informal justice" to resolve disputes that arise in village communities. Besides, there are legal opportunities for village heads to take a strategic role in disputes that occur in village communities. Thus access to justice is closer to the villagers. Such a situation clearly synergizes with efforts to build a justice system that is accessible to all levels of society, is effective, efficient and is able to encourage the creation of an atmosphere of harmony in society.
