Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the behavioral orientation of school principals and discipline leadership with the work motivation of teachers in junior high schools on the island of Buano. The research method used in this research is quantitative research. From this data it can be concluded that: 1) There is a relationship between the leadership behavior of school principals and teachers' work motivation because the significant value is < 0.05 or 0.150 < 0.05. The value of the Pearson correlation is 0.912, which means that there is a degree of relationship at very low correlation. 2) There is a relationship between work discipline and teacher motivation because the significant value is <0.05 or 0.00 <0.05. The value of the Pearson correlation is 0.873, which means that there is a high degree of correlation. 3) There is a positive and significant relationship between the principal's leadership behavior and work discipline with the teacher's work motivation because the significant value is <0.05. Thus it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship simultaneously between the leadership behavior of school principals and work discipline with teacher work motivation. so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

Syllable card media is a tool aimed at enhancing students' early reading skills by visualizing images and syllables that are affixed to a board. The purpose of this study is to investigate the Influence of Syllable Card Media on Reading Ability Quality of Students. The research was conducted at a public elementary school in Deli Serdang, with the subjects being second semester first-grade students, consisting of two classes: class IA and 1B. The research utilized a quantitative method with a Quasi-Experimental approach. The results from the Wilcoxon signed-rank test indicated an Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). This leads to the conclusion that the "Hypothesis is Accepted," implying a difference in students' early reading ability using media between the Pre-Test and Post-Test. Thus, it is evident that Syllable Card Media has an Influence on the Quality of Reading Ability among Students. The recommendation from this research is for educators to utilize media in teaching to enhance early reading skills.

Abstract

his study aims to determine the management of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds at SMP Negeri 10 Ambon. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. This research involved the school principal and BOS treasurer as primary data sources. Secondary data sources included school profile, vision and mission, BOS Annual Activity Plan (Rencana Kerja Tahunan-RKT), BOS Accountability Report (Laporan Pertanggung Jawaban­­-LPJ), and teacher data. The interview results were then transcribed into Bahasa Indonesia. The results showed that the management of BOS funds went through several stages and processes, namely planning, management, evaluation and reporting. The components of planning, management, evaluation and reporting showed that SMP Negeri 10 Ambon had run well in accordance with the technical guidelines for the management of BOS funds, except for the lack of trust and transparency by the managers to each field related to BOS funds. In this study, there were several obstacles, namely delays in fund disbursement, lack of transparency in terms of budget implementation, and accountability problems in reporting management and evaluation. The obstacles found resulted in the regulation carried out by schools being hampered so that the program that had been prepared in the RKAS could not run properly. Recommendations that can be given are that periodic evaluations from stakeholders can continue to be conducted for effective and efficient regulation of BOS funds.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the influence of the role of the principal on teaching motivation, (2) the effect of the use of instructional media on teacher teaching motivation, (3) the effect of the role of the principal and use of instructional media jointly on teacher teaching motivation in public junior high schools in the district of Bula, East Seram regency. This type of research is expost-facto using quantitative methods. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire or a Likert distribution questionnaire. The population as well as the sample in this study were all 69 PNS/Non PNS school principals and teachers from 3(three) public junior high schools in Bula District, East Seram Regency. The results showed that: 1) the role of the school principal (X1) had an effect on teachers’ teaching motivation (Y) by 6.3% based on (R square) of 0.063, (2) The use of instructional media (X2) had an effect on teachers’ teaching motivation (Y) of 23.6% besed on (R square) of 0,236, and (3) the role of the school principal (X1) and the use of instructional media (X2) has an effect on teacher motivation (Y) of 23,7% based on (R square) of 0.237. Based on the results of the reseach conducted, the variabel of the role of the school principal and use of learning media should be increased in order to increase the motivation to teach teachers in public junior high schools in Bula District, East Seram Regency.

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to understand the process of designing lesson plans for writing activities in the tenth grade at SMK Negeri 2 Alasa Talumuzoi for the academic year 2022/2023 and identify challenges faced by an English teacher during implementation. Data was collected through observations and interviews with the teacher. The analysis followed qualitative techniques, leading to conclusions based on the research objectives. The findings reveal that the teacher's lesson planning process includes various components such as educational details, competencies, objectives, materials, methods, activities, and assessments. The teacher effectively designs the lesson plan. However, challenges were identified, including incomplete alignment between competencies and activities, lack of clear instructions for students, underutilization of teaching media, inadequate final assessments, and limited student involvement in summarization. This research provides insights into the strengths and weaknesses of lesson planning and implementation in the context of writing activities.

Abstract

Communication in the Indonesian hospitality industry impacts on the growth of domestic and foreign tourists’ number who visit the country. And one of the communication forms in this business is visitor review on hospitality platforms. This review offers several advantages since, for example, hotels will be able to find out customers' levels of satisfaction, needs, or complaints on hotel services and facilities. And these aspects can be used to evaluate the business’ performance in gaining profit. Based on that urgency, this study aims to investigate the complaint structures and strategies written by Asian and English-speaking country visitors on both domestic chain hotels (DCH) and international chain hotels (ICH) in the TripAdvisor page, an international-based travel site. Furthermore, a qualitative descriptive research method is employed along with note-taking as the data collection technique, and the theory used is the complaint speech act strategy presented by Trosborg. The results of this study indicate that the complaint structure consists of several components, namely: title, opening sentence, content (complaint sentence), closing sentence, and parting or valediction. In detail, the structure component that appears the least is parting since it is only found in Asian visitor reviews on ICH. While, the most common complaint strategy used by DCH and ICH visitors is annoyance. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in the use of complaints strategies between Asian and English-speaking country visitors in both DCH and ICH. It happens due to globalization where the world communities carry out high mobility between cultures even though they have geographical boundaries; thus, they are able to influence each other frequently

Abstract

Reading comprehension is the ability of understanding the text, like find the information, messages, or idea from the author. Therefore, it is very important for students to master reading comprehension skills, especially in narrative text. In fact, students at SMK Negeri 1 Sogae'adu experienced problems in understanding narrative text. There were several problems faced by students in reading comprehension: The students were not able to determine the main idea, the students were not able to locate the generic structure of narrative text, the students were not able to recognize or predict the important and unimportant content of the text, and the students were lacked of vocabulary. Concerning these problems, this study aimed to solve students' problems and improve students' ability in reading comprehension through the use of the Keyword Method. This research was carried out using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. This research was conducted in two cycles consisting of two meetings in each cycle. There were 4 procedures carried out, namely: Planning, Action, Observation, Reflection. In cycle I, there were 24 students who did not achieved MCC; the average student score was 61.76. The highest score was 87 and the lowest score was 20. Meanwhile, in cycle II, the average score was 87.7, the highest score was 100 and the minimum score was 75, where all students succeeded in achieving the MCC. From the results of this study, it could be concluded that the Keyword Method solves students' problems in reading comprehension and improved students' reading comprehension skills in narrative text.

Abstract

Adolescent same-sex attraction has led to negative behaviors and challenges among adolescents, particularly in Bulu Village. The emergence of lesbianism in this community indicates a departure from societal norms regarding sexuality, causing intimidation and issues within the local populace. This study concentrates on integrating Islamic values and counseling into the attitudes of LGBT groups, particularly junior and senior high school students. Using a qualitative approach, the research took place in Bulu Village over four months during the 2021/2022 academic year. Primary data came from interviews and observations, while secondary data were derived from documentation. The findings reveal that respondents' deviant sexual orientation falls into the moderately deviant category. They experience attraction to the same sex and even engage in romantic relationships. An Islamic perspective aims to guide these individuals in changing their attitudes, assisting those struggling with sexual orientation and lesbian viewpoints. Challenges faced by respondents include managing daily life and avoiding deviant behavior. Strategies include acknowledging wrongdoing, seeking repentance, avoiding negative influences, and maintaining positivity.

Abstract

Change and relationship is a content in PISA that is classified as having a low score, because students experience errors in completing it, so to find out the student's mistakes, Newman's analysis is needed which is useful to find out the mistakes made by students, as well as scaffolding efforts to minimize and overcome errors. This study aims to describe the provision of scaffolding to junior high school students in solving PISA content change and relationship problems at Proklamasi Balongbendo Junior High School for the 2022/2023 even semester in April. Of the three classes consisting of classes VIII-a (32 students), VIII - B (31 students), and VIII-C (32 students). Then selected Class VIII-B purposively in this study, consisting of 16 male students and 15 female students. Purposive selection based on, special characteristics in the form of student ability and student activity in the classroom. The tests were conducted on all students of Class VIII - B, namely the initial ability test (TKA) and the PISA Ability Test (TKP). The subjects were selected based on the results of analysis of student answers and scores of initial ability test (TKA) and PISA ability test (TKP) and considering the UAS scores in mathematics subjects of students in semester 1, the subjects consisted of high ability subjects (S1), medium ability subjects (S2), and low research subjects (S3). The results of the study stated S1 able to read the question correctly, can understand the purpose of the problem, explain all the information in the question and be able to understand what is being asked, able to write a plan of completion, by doing pemisalan and using formulas that are in accordance with the solution of the question, mention the conclusions in accordance with the conclusions of the answers obtained from the work done. S2 is able to be able to read the problem correctly, explain what information is obtained from the problem, able to understand what is meant by the problem and write what is known and asked in the problem, able to transform the problem into a mathematical model by making a calculation from the information obtained in the problem, but have difficulty in performing calculation operations so as not to get the correct final result, S2 is able to write conclusions in accordance with the results obtained, but not precisely because the answers obtained are also not precise so that the results obtained in the conclusion are not correct. S3 is able to read the problem correctly, explaining all the information known from the question correctly. S3 does not define formulas and models math. S3 directly perform the overall calculation operation based on the information in the problem. And in the course of the interview the subject said with confidence that there was a proper formula to solve it, but he did not know the formula so did not write it down. S3 is not able to write the final conclusion precisely because the results of the answers obtained are also not appropriate. The type of error S1 in solving the PISA content change and relationship problem is a transformation error, and a process skill error. The types of S2 errors in solving PISA content change and relationship problems are Transformation errors, and process skill errors, and final answer writing (encoding). The types of S3 errors in solving PISA content change and relationship problems are comprehension errors, transformation errors, process skill errors, and final answer writing (encoding). Based on the type of error S1 is transformation, scaffolding given is reviewing, and restructuring. And the type of process skill error, scaffolding given is reviewing, restructuring, explaining. Based on the type of error made by S2 in solving the PISA content change and relationship Problem, the scaffolding transformation error given is reviewing, and restructuring, restructuring. Abstract

This study generally aims to determine the extent to which the Drill method is applied in increasing motivation to study Pancasila Education in Class IV SDN 44 Rampoang. The type of research used in this study was classroom action research (Classroom Action Research) with the nature of PTK being carried out independently, which means that research is conducting CAR without collaboration with other teachers. In this case the researcher is directly involved in planning actions, taking actions, observing, reflecting, and others. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. This classroom action research was carried out in a participatory and reflective manner, where the implementation process was carried out in a cyclical manner. After the writer discusses, conducts research, analyzes the results of the research, the results of the effect of applying the Drill method on increasing learning motivation are said to be successful because it can be seen and observed at every meeting there is an increase in each cycle. Based on data analysis, it was found that the success rate of students in one class was 42.85%, that is, out of 21 test takers, 9 people passed. Meanwhile, 12 people failed or 57.14%, because the test score was less than 70 and below the passing standard. so that it can be concluded that the Application of the Drill Method in Improving the Learning Motivation of Pancasila Education in Grade IV Students at SDN 44 Rampoang
