Abstract

Watersheds (DAS) function as a reservoir, storage, and distribution of water, and divided into upstream, middle, and downstream areas. The Manikin Baki watershed in East Nusa Tenggara faces problems of erosion, land degradation, and illegal grazing. An afforestation program by Nusa Cendana University, the Ford Foundation and the NTT Forestry Office since 1982 has successfully created an agroforestry area in the Sisimeni Sanam Permanent Forest Area, but there are still environmental problems that need to be addressed. This study assessed the health of agroforestry forests in the Manikin Baki watershed using the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method with vitality indicators with tree damage parameters, productivity with base area parameters (LBDS) and tree volume, biodiversity with diversity and species richness parameters, and site quality with cation exchange capacity (CEC) and soil pH parameters. The results showed that the vitality indicator was in the healthy category. Productivity indicators show that the results of LBDS and volume calculations can be used to compare changes in the next period. Biodiversity indicators show that the index of richness and diversity of stand species is less stable, causing a decrease in biodiversity. Site quality indicators show high CEC values and neutral pH. This agroforestry system has great potential to strengthen the sustainability of the biotic and abiotic environment in the upstream area of the Manikin Baki watershed through the positive contribution of the four forest health indicators.

Abstract

Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as an Islamic financial institution based on Islamic Banking must be able to ensure the safety of people in the world and long for a financial economic system that has the value of truth (logic), goodness (ethic), and beauty (aesthetic). The Islamic financial system was born and emerged from a thought that is full of religious character and has special characteristics that are not possessed by other economic and financial systems such as the financial economic idiology of capitalists, socialists, liberalists and communist financial economics. This is due to the perfection of the rules through the elaboration of the concept of muamalah based on Islamic sharia. Muhammad Syafi'i Antonio and Hilman Fauzi Nugraha, that Islamic banking financial institutions and other Islamic financial institutions are recognised today to have become the leading torch in the economic development project and Islamic finance in Indonesia and even in the world. Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) continues to support the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) through the provision of access to Islamic financing. this is reflected in the distribution of BSI financing to the MSME sector nationally until March 2024 has been realised at Rp 46.62 trillion. This research shows that the existence of Islamic banking is expected to be able to synergise with the government in the empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM).

Abstract

The decline in fish resources has a direct impact on coastal communities, such as happened in the Tunda Island region, Banten province. This condition requires the attention of the local government and one of the follow-up actions is efforts to distribute and install fish apartments. So far, the placement of fish apartments has not been studied so it could result in them being lost, damaged or even not functioning properly. The aim of this research is to analyze the condition of oceanographic factors and water quality at prospective locations for installing fish apartments, as well as determining recommendations for suitable locations for installing fish apartments on Tunda Island. The methodology used basically consist of 2 stages, namely the preparation of suitability criteria and spatial analysis to match location. The waters of Tunda Island have a temperature of between 30.1-30.5 °C with a salinity of 34 ‰; dissolved oxygen 6.3 mg/l; pH value 8.2-8.3 and brightness reaches 12 meters. The current speed is relatively slow (0.091-0.11 m/s) and includes fertile waters. The nitrate content is between 0.072-0.115 mg/l and the phosphate concentration is 0.024-0.046 mg/l. Apart from that, safety conditions and the level of community participation based on the assessment are in the safe and high category. This makes both stations highly recommended as locations for placing fish apartments.

Abstract

This study was conducted during January - March 2023 in the waters of Ternate Island with the aim of examining sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a parameters and their relationship with the catch of tuna (Euthynnus affinis) to get the optimum value of the two oceanographic factors for the presence of tuna. The use of field survey method for data collection and assessment with statistical analysis and GIS analysis. The results showed that the value of oceanographic factors, namely sea surface temperature during the study ranged from 26.8-31.7 oC and had a real influence on the catch of tuna with a correlation coefficient of 0.74, where there was a tendency if the sea surface temperature was higher than the average temperature (30.14 oC) then the catch would decrease. For the chlorophyll-a parameter, the value ranges from 0.120-0.440 mg/m3 and also has a significant effect on the catch of mackerel with a detemination coefficient of 0.74. and there is a tendency that an increase in the value of chlorophyll-a concentration is directly proportional to the increase in the number of mackerel catches. The optimum values of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration for mackerel distribution in Ternate Island waters are 27 - 30.9 oC for sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration values above 0.1 mg/m3, respectively.

Abstract

This research was conducted from November 2023 to January 2024 in the waters of Dodinga Bay with the aim of assessing the potential of anchovy using the Schefer and Fox methods. The method used is the experimental fishing method where researchers will directly participate in fishing activities during 40 fishing trips and carry out the data collection process in the form of fishing position, water temperature and anchovy length as the main data in the study. Based on the results of research by analyzing MSY based on the Fox model and Scheafer Model, it can be concluded that the R2 value of the Scheafer model is 0.7583 which is close to 1 so that the Scheafer model is the best model for calculating MSY of skipjack in Ternate Island waters with an MSY value or sustainable potential of 6,976.3 kg / year with a maximum effort of 192 trips. Furthermore, the level of skipjack utilization in Ternate Island waters during 2017-2022 is still low or less than 20%.
