Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Wordwall application in enhancing students' learning motivation of grade 3 students of SDN Inpres Sakuru. The problems found were the lack of motivation to learning mathematics such as not focusing on learning, lack of self-confidence and the use of media that had not been implemented properly. This study used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest Posttest design to see motivation before and after treatment. The sample in this study was 27 students. To measure motivation, data were obtained from respondents' answers on the questionnaire statement sheet. Before being given treatment, the initial motivation was 28.37 then after being given treatment it increased by 44.88. This shows an increase in the motivation of grade 3 students. Based on statistical analysis, a significance value of 0.000 was obtained which means it is smaller than the significance level of 0.05, thus it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This finding shows that there is a difference in students' learning motivation scores before and after treatment. This means that the use of interactive learning media assisted by Wordwall has a significant effect on increasing students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Not all students have the ability to speak or to express opinions in public well, and not all students are able to engage in the learning process with a student centered approach. Therefore, the learning model with a student centered approach should still be juxtaposed with the considered percentage of lecture method (teacher cantered approach). This research aims to produce an Articulation learning model development oriented towards student activities. The data analysis was referring to the ISMAN model which consists of the stages: input, process, output, feedback, and learning. Based on the validity test to the validator, the Articulation development model is declared suitable for the Economics learning process. The students responses to the utilization of the Articulation development model obtained an average percentage of 88.62% in the category of very effective.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a crucial role in fostering children’s holistic development, including aesthetic experience and ecological awareness. This study explores the role of nature-based art learning as a strategy to develop both aspects in children aged 5–6 years. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved 46 children and 4 teachers at Kelompok Bermain Alam Uswatun Khasanah, Sleman. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation during art sessions involving ecoprint and jumputan techniques with natural materials. Instruments were validated through expert judgment, and data accuracy was ensured through triangulation. Analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model. The results revealed that direct interaction with natural materials such as leaves, flowers, seeds, and plants not only enhanced children’s visual expression and aesthetic appreciation but also fostered ecological awareness. A total of 38 out of 46 children could articulate the meaning behind their artwork, while 31 demonstrated ecological understanding through inquiry and responsible behavior toward nature. Teacher reflections emphasized that this approach was more contextual and meaningful than conventional methods. These findings support the integration of nature-based art into the ECE curriculum and recommend further teacher training and quantitative studies to broaden the insights.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills by enhancing their intrinsic motivation to learn. It compares the effects of three instructional models PBL (Problem Based Learning), DL (Discovery Learning), and Direct Instruction (DI) on students’ mathematical critical thinking across four levels of intrinsic motivation: high, medium, low, and overall. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The sample consisted of 75 seventh-grade students: 25 students each from classes VII A and VII B as experimental groups using PBL and DL models, and 25 students from class VII C as the control group using DI. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. Results indicate that PBL significantly outperforms DL in improving students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. In turn, DL shows a more pronounced effect compared to DI. Intrinsic motivation plays a crucial role: students with high and medium levels of motivation benefit the most, while those with low motivation show weaker outcomes. A significant interaction effect was found between the type of instructional model and the level of intrinsic motivation, suggesting that the choice of instructional model should consider students' motivational profiles. These findings imply that instructional strategies tailored to students' motivation levels can significantly enhance mathematical critical thinking abilities.
