Jurnal Arrabona
Jurnal Arrabona merupakan wadah publikasi ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (LP2M), Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Arrabona Bogor. Jurnal Arrabona menerima artikel dari semua dosen, mahasiswa, dan alumni di lingkungan Sekolah Tinggi Teologi, maupun institusi lain yang memiliki bidang kajian yang sama. Artikel yang dikirim haruslah belum pernah atau tidak sedang dalam proses dimuat dalam jurnal lainnya. Artikel yang masuk harus sesuai dengan petunjuk penulisan atau format yang telah ditetapkan. Editor akan menolak artikel yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan tanpa proses lebih lanjut. Artikel yang telah memenuhi persyaratan akan dinilai kelayakannya oleh reviewer melalui proses blind-review. Focus dan Scope Jurnal Arrabona, yaitu: Biblika, Dogmatika, Misiologi, Apologetika, Historika, dan Praktika. Jurnal Arrabona terbit dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Februari dan Agustus, serta menyediakan akses terbuka langsung ke isinya (content).

<![CDATA[The Colossian congregation lived in a Greco-Roman household culture that was thick with the hegemonic masculinity of the head of the family, so that wives, children and slaves experienced arbitrary treatment. Christianity certainly does not allow this kind of thing to happen in Christian households. This article attempts to prove that Colossians 3:18 – 4:1 was used by Paul to deal with hegemonic masculinity at that time. The method used is epistolary genre hermeneutics. A study of Colossians 3:18 – 4:1 by paying attention to structure, grammar, and cultural context shows that Paul uses an inferior-superior formula in the structure of household rules, gives new values to the roles of each member, and bases all actions on the superiority of Christ. Paul still respected the existence of the existing social hierarchy but modified it in terms of values and practices.]]>

<![CDATA[Jewish rabbis after the fall of Jerusalem were more inclined to interpret the suffering servant in Isaiah 53 as the nation of Israel. As for the Jewish rabbis who stated that Isaiah 53 prophesied the nation of Israel as the suffering servant and stated that the prophecy had been fulfilled, where the nation of Israel suffered under other nations because they rejected Jesus as the Messiah. This study aims to investigate and analyze Isaiah 53, focusing on the question of whether the prophecy is more appropriately interpreted as a description of the Messiah or as a description of Israel by using the descriptive method of analysis. The results show that the prophecy consistently describes the characteristics of the Messiah, identifying specific elements that support this interpretation. Although there is an alternative view that views Isaiah 53 as a description of Israel's fate, this argument seems less consistent with aspects of the text and context. This study can provide in-depth insights into the meaning and interpretation of Isaiah 53, resulting in a significant contribution to biblical studies, as well as unearthing theological and spiritual implications that can enrich our understanding of this prophetic message.]]>

<![CDATA[The development of the current era is characterized by increasingly advanced technology that makes humans live in an instant. Of course, apart from the positive impact, there must be a negative impact produced through the development of technology, one of which is the distraction of short videos on the concentration of doing assignments for students, especially Christians. The purpose of this study is how or what is the role of Christian religious education to be able to handle Christian students who experience short video distraction which makes it difficult to concentrate on doing academic assignments. Through research with literature analysis with a qualitative approach, it was found that the role of Christian religious education in dealing with the distraction of short videos on concentration on assignments for Christian students is first, to bring students closer to God through worship so that they love God and hear the voice of truth. Second, providing an understanding of the awareness of the dangers of short videos on learning concentration. Third, controlling students to divide their time between doing assignments and watching short videos. Fourth, the awareness that students have does not stop at themselves but results in sharing with other students so that they experience change together. These roles will be able to be carried out if accompanied by examples or examples from Christian religious education teachers and lecturers who have finished with short video addiction, so that the students will be able to change their behavior together. These roles can only be fulfilled if accompanied by the example of a Christian education teacher or lecturer who has overcome addiction to short videos, so that students can find a good role model.]]>

<![CDATA[The two natures of Christ are something that goes beyond human logic because how is it possible to have two natures in a person at the same time, namely Jesus being a true God and a true man, without any mixing? The aim of writing this article is to provide an understanding with a historical approach to the nature of Christ, which has been the subject of debate by theological scholars so far, by using qualitative research methods through research into the history of church development, explaining the views of heretics who rejected the nature of Christ as true God and true man, and also explaining the reason why Jesus used two natures when he came to earth. This article ends with the conclusion that the anti-Christ group will not end before the end of time; this group will continue to mislead God's chosen people. Because of that, the church continues to play an active role in providing correct teachings based on the Bible, which is God's Word as the absolute truth, as the basis for those who are strong in the growth of strong faith in this world full of error.]]>

<![CDATA[Modernization that offers convenience and efficiency often causes individuals, especially Christians, to experience difficulties in maintaining a connection with the spiritual values contained in the Bible. The novelty of this study lies in the systematic attempt to explore how the Bible can serve as a moral and spiritual guide in facing the challenges of modernity. The main objective of this study is to explore and analyze the role of the Bible and provide practical recommendations for Christians to apply the values of the Bible in their daily lives and foster deeper spiritual engagement. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, which aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon of Bible reading practices and spiritual engagement among adult Christians. Data was collected through analyzing various sources available on the internet, including social media such as Instagram and comments on live streaming videos on YouTube. The results show that the Bible can be a source of inspiration and life guidance for Christians in facing modernization. The Bible provides values and teachings that are relevant in facing the challenges of modernization. The results also show that Christians can use the Bible as a life guide in facing modernization by: reading and meditating on the Bible regularly, using the Bible as a source of inspiration in facing challenges, making decisions based on the teachings of the Bible.]]>

Be it the poverty crisis, social disintegration and also the environment. The global multidimensional crisis presents complex problems to society, in this case the church must also carry out God's mission as a responsibility to be believers in God, because God sent the church to carry out His mission to all people in the world with all the problems they are experiencing. Carrying out God's mission to a pluralistic society with diverse cultures and problems also requires a way to answer these needs, namely carrying out the mission holistically. <![CDATA[This article discusses the challenges faced by teenagers in the context of worship at GMIT Rehobot, Rinin, West Amarasi, regarding the phenomenon of teenagers' inactivity in worship, which is often caused by emotional instability and feelings, as well as a lack of deep understanding of the meaning of worship. This research uses a qualitative method that emphasizes the social reality that is built and the values contained in the teenagers' worship experience. The purpose of the study was to identify problems related to teenagers' worship and provide recommendations to increase their participation in worship activities. The results showed that teenagers tend to attend church only to socialize, so a more holistic approach is needed in fostering their spirituality. The study recommends the development of programs that can increase teenagers' understanding and involvement in worship, as well as emphasizing the importance of worship as a means of sustainable spiritual growth.]]>

<![CDATA[This article discusses the parable of the sower taught by Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Mark 4:1-20 and its implications for faith growth in the modern era. The parable illustrates how the seed of God’s word is sown on different types of soil or human hearts, which affects its growth outcome. This study analyzes various types of soil: the path, rocky ground, thorns, and good soil, and how each type influences growth results. The article also explores the relevance of these changes in the contemporary context, focusing on modern challenges such as technological advancements, cultural shifts, and social factors that can impact individual spirituality. Additionally, the article offers practical approaches for implementing the teachings of the parable into daily life through the development of spiritual habits to support faith growth and strategies for overcoming obstacles in the modern world. In conclusion, the article emphasizes that although social contexts have changed, the principles of the parable of the sower remain relevant in helping individuals grow in strong and fruitful faith in today’s modern era.]]>

<![CDATA[In today's reality, there are many injustices that occur and are deliberately silenced. Many Christian leaders miss the opportunity to speak the truth under the pressure of today's challenges. This study shows that Proverbs 31:8-9 serves not only as an ethical guide, but also as a specific call for Christian leaders to advocate for justice at all levels of society. There is a research gap in discussing the theological study of Christian leadership from the perspective of the wisdom literature of Proverbs 31:8-9. Therefore, using the hermeneutic research method of the Wisdom Literature sub-genre, this study highlights three main aspects: first, the moral responsibility of a leader to be a voice for the oppressed; second, the importance of courage in the face of structural injustice; and third, the commitment to uphold truth and protect human rights as a reflection of divine character in building leadership based on social justice. The findings of this study provide theological and practical contributions for Christian leaders who seek to emulate biblical values in leading with a just conscience.]]>

<![CDATA[Transhumanism is a philosophical and cultural movement that focuses primarily on transcending the biological limitations of humans through technological advancement. In the Christian context, transhumanism poses a number of theological, moral, and spiritual challenges. Many Christian thinkers are concerned that transhumanism could undermine the traditional understanding of humans as creatures created in the image of God, and threaten the moral and ethical values that underlie Christian teaching. Drawing on figures such as Ray Kurzweil and Nick Bostrom, as well as a review of recent literature, this article seeks to answer the fundamental question: how can Christianity respond to attempts to replace dependence on God with dependence on technology? It also offers insights into how the church can play a critical role in guiding people in the face of technological advancement. The result is that the church needs to re-teach the values of the Imago Dei, the church needs to become a place for discussion of God's will for humanity as a central theme in Christian theology that includes understandings of creation, purpose of life, salvation, the end of time and human relationship with God.]]>
