Abstract

Burnout is a psychological problem caused by chronic workplace stress that reduces nurses’ well-being, care quality, and patient safety. A preliminary study at Banjarmasin Islamic Hospital found that eight of ten nurses experienced moderate-to-high burnout. This study aimed to determine the relationship of workload and the nursing work environment with burnout among nurses at Banjarmasin Islamic Hospital. This quantitative correlational study used a cross-sectional design. The population comprised all nurses at Banjarmasin Islamic Hospital; 105 respondents were selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the NASA-TLX, PES-NWI, and MBI questionnaires and analyzed using univariate analysis and Spearman rank correlation (α = 0.05). Most respondents had high workloads (67.6%), rated the nursing work environment as good (56.2%), and experienced high burnout (50.5%). Workload was significantly associated with burnout (p = 0.010; r = 0.251), and the nursing work environment was also significantly associated with burnout (p = 0.001; r = 0.331), both with weak-to-moderate correlations. Hospitals should evaluate workload distribution, strengthen staffing and resource support, and reinforce burnout-prevention programs.

Abstract

Scabies is a contagious skin disease common in Islamic boarding schools, associated with personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, shared use of personal items, and peer support. This study analyzed the relationship between these factors and scabies incidence among students at Darul Ilmi Islamic Boarding School, Banjarbaru, using a cross-sectional design. A sample of 99 respondents was selected from 132 seventh-grade male students via simple random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with univariate and bivariate (Chi-Square) methods at α = 0.05. Most respondents had poor personal hygiene (43.4%) and poor environmental sanitation (52.5%); item-sharing was mostly moderate (35.4%), while peer support was mostly good (35.4%). Scabies was found in 45.5% of respondents. Personal hygiene (p = 0.001; OR 10.20), environmental sanitation (p = 0.003; OR 3.48), item-sharing (p = 0.005; OR 4.88), and peer support (p = 0.002; OR 6.74) were significantly associated with scabies incidence. These findings indicate hygiene, sanitation, item-sharing, and peer support jointly contribute to scabies risk.

Abstract

This study examines the diffusion of E-Money innovation among Generation X users of Balikpapan City Trans (BACITRA) in Balikpapan, Indonesia. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observations, structured interviews, and documentation involving ten informants comprising BACITRA users and an operational informant. Data were analyzed through reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. Findings show that E-Money was initially perceived as a new and somewhat complex payment practice, particularly regarding tapping, balance, and card acquisition. However, direct experience, repeated use, and assistance from others reduced perceived complexity and strengthened perceived relative advantage. Digital media generated initial awareness, while interpersonal communication was more influential in operational understanding and adoption decisions. Adoption unfolded gradually through knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. The social system, especially family, peers, neighbors, and bus drivers, functioned as a key mechanism of normalization and continued diffusion. The study highlights socially embedded communication in public-service innovation.

Abstract

The development of the Islamic finance industry in Indonesia has expanded investment opportunities in Sharia-compliant instruments, including sukuk. Generation Z represents a promising investor segment because of its close connection with digital technology and broad access to financial information. Nevertheless, easy access to information does not necessarily imply adequate understanding of Sharia principles, product characteristics, investment risks, and mechanisms. This study aims to examine the effect of Islamic financial literacy on sukuk investment behavior among Generation Z in Deli Serdang Regency. The study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory design and primary data collected through a structured questionnaire. Based on the data presented in the manuscript, the study involved 100 respondents. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that Islamic financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on sukuk investment behavior, with a regression coefficient of 0.662, a t-value of 6.968, and a significance level of 0.000. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.329 indicates that 32.9% of the variation in sukuk investment behavior can be explained by Islamic financial literacy, while 67.1% is attributable to other factors outside the model. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening applied Islamic financial literacy so that Generation Z can evaluate, select, and engage in sukuk investment in a more informed manner and in accordance with Sharia principles.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of risk profile and capital adequacy on the profit performance of PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia. Risk profile is proxied by the Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) and Non-Performing Financing (NPF), while capital adequacy is measured by the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Profit performance is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA). A quantitative approach was employed using secondary quarterly financial-ratio data from Bank Muamalat Indonesia comprising 44 observations. The data were analyzed using an Error Correction Model (ECM) with EViews 10. The short-run estimates show that FDR has a positive and significant effect on ROA (coefficient 0.011713; p=0.0172), NPF has a negative and significant effect on ROA (coefficient -0.079003; p=0.0252), and CAR has a positive but statistically insignificant effect (coefficient 0.002011; p=0.8915). In the long run, FDR, NPF, and CAR have negative but statistically insignificant effects on ROA. These findings indicate that changes in financing liquidity and financing quality are more immediately reflected in bank profitability in the short run, whereas capital adequacy does not exhibit a statistically strong effect on ROA during the observation period.
