Abstract

Hotel occupancy leveling is one of crucial components in the hotel revenue management. Revenue management is meant to maximize the revenue management from various limited supplies. There has been a trend that the prevailing hotels nowadays have improved the technology aspect to increase the hotel quality and eventually the hotel occupancy. The modeling for hotel occupancy representation is a complex problem because the presentation has linked with the other processes, such as: the arrival reservation, cancelation, length of stay, no-show, group reservation, seasonality, and so on. In fact, the problems rising up recently are not limited on the workers or capital, but more in providing the reservation information. The information should give facility by providing simple method of reservation for the customers. This paper provided brief explanation regarding with the hotel occupancy and then explored the reservation system which implemented Indonesian language called Humane Reservation Assistance (HuResTan). Obvious contribution of this application was the implementation of Indonesian language in the reservation process. Furthermore, it provided the preference to make a reservation for the hotel room after the searching result for targeted room was completed.

Abstract

Forecasting inflation is necessary as a basis for making decisions and high quality good planning in economic development in Indonesia particularly for the government and businessmen. The forecasting generally uses time series data. However, there is a time series data which is difficult to obtain stationary, i.e., the variance on financial time series data such as the stock price index, interest rates, inflation, exchange rates, and etc. It is mainly caused by the inconsistency of variance (heteroscedasticity). This study developed Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model using exogenous factors, namely the price of oil and outlier detection to forecast inflation. Another modeling which is expected to solve the problem of heteroscedasticity is a Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) model. In this study, the asymmetric GARCH of Glosten Jagannathan Runkle-GARCH (GJR-GARCH) was carried out. This model could accommodate the volatility in the form of negative shocks that can leverage the effect. The data used in this study was the Inflation rate of Indonesia and world oil prices in January 1991 to December 2014 respectively. The results showed that ARIMAX-GJR GARCH is the best model to forecast national inflation volatility.

Abstract

Health is something that has always been observed by any person for the sake of survival. Healthy lifestyle habits should be a society that is able to be applied in daily life - today. Exercise regularly, consumption of nutritious foods and balanced to support a better life. An unhealthy diet , such as eating foods high in fat , salt , sugar -free and low in carbohydrates complex , vegetables and fruits, the main cause of the increased risk of cardiovascular disease , diabetes mellitus and Hyperuricemia ( Sacher , 2004; Kumar et al. 2012). Various types of synthetic drugs used in medicine for example to decrease uric acid , allopurinol denan cause allergic reactions , stomach disorders, bowel , headache , dizziness , fever and blood disorders ( Tjay & Rahardja , 2007). Using of drugs that lower koleserol examples drugs of gemfibrozi drug , fenofibrate and bezafibrat of fibrate acid group which is usually used in patients with type III hiperlipoproteinemia and severe hypertriglyceridemia , has side effects gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea , diarrhea , flatulence , and others. Class of drugs such as cholestyramine and colestipol resins commonly used in patients with hypercholesterolemia, also give side effects such as nausea, vomiting , and constipation, but is reduced after some time of taking the drug. Likewise, the treatment of chronic hyperglycemia USING insulin and oral antidiabetic drugs are relatively more expensive because of its use in the long term and can cause unwanted side effects. Therefore, it is necessary to find an alternative treatment, especially from natural sources that are safer, does not have efeksamping and effective for use in the treatment of gout, hiperkolesetrolemia and hyperglycemia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the performance of classical bivariate binary logistic regression and Bayesian bivariate binary logistic regression. The sizes of sample used in research were small and large sample. The size of the small sample was 200 and the large sample was 10000 samples. Parameter estimation method that often used in logistic regression modeling is maximum likelihood which is called the classical approach. However, using a maximum likelihood parameter estimation has several weaknesses. When the number of sample is small and the dependent variable is unbalanced, bias parameters are frequently obtained. Nevertheless, when the sample size is too large, it has propensity to reject H0. As the solution, the use of Bayesian approach to overcome the small sample size problem and unbalanced dependent variable is suggested. The case study carried out in this research was customer loyalty of 'X' Company. This study used two dependent variables, i.e. Customer Defections and Contract Answer. Initial information on the number of consumers who defected and not defected was unbalanced, likewise for the Contract Answers. Based on the comparison of classical and Bayesian bivariate binary logistic regression prediction, Bayesian method was evidenced to yield better performance compared to classical method.
