Abstract

Packaging today often uses plastic and Styrofoam as food packaging. The current packaging can endanger consumers, food contamination due to the use of Styrofoam can occur due to the following ; food or drink that is too hot, the higher the temperature of the food in the styrofoam, the easier it will be for the styrene substance to transfer to the food. Ths study aims to determine the behavior of handlers towards the use of food packaging in restaurants in Mamuju District of Mamuju Regency. The sample in this study were 127 restaurant handlers. The results showed that the level of knowledge of food handlers in the less category was 59,1%, the attitude of food handlers was in the positive category by 37,8% and 62,2% had a negative attidue, the actions of handlerswere 40,9% had a positive attitude and 59,1% had a negative attitude. The number of restaurants handlers was 127 handlers interviewed, 62,2% had a negative attitude and as many as 37,8% positive attitude. This study concluded that the attitude of respondents was in a negative category towards the use of food packaging as a food and beverage container, because the attitude of the handler was not only formed by the knowledge of the handler but was also influenced by the emotional aspects, experience, and environtmental conditions the handlers was in. conclusion the description of the knowledge, attitudes and actions of handlers towards the use of food packaging in restaurants in Mamuju District, Mamuju Regency is in less category based on the results of the study.

Abstract

Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a health problem that is in the spotlight and attention of the world. The number of COVID-19 cases in the Tanjungpinang City area in 2021 has reached 10,212 cases. Village Batu IX is the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Tanjungpinang City, namely 1,998 cases. This study aims to describe the knowledge and attitudes of the head of the family in complying with health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic in RT Batu IX Village, Tanjungpinang Timur. This study uses quantitative descriptive research by means of interviews using questionnaires, sampling techniques using the purposive sampling with a total sample of 100 families residing in RT Batu IX Village. Data analysis using univariate. The results of this study indicate that the knowledge of the head of the family is good as many as 75 people (75.0%), sufficient knowledge of the head of the family as many as 20 people (20.0%) and lack of knowledge of the head of the family as many as 5 people (5.0%), and the good attitude of the head of the family as many as 25 people (25.0 %), enough attitude of the head of the family as many as 72 people (72.0%) and the attitude of less than the head of the family as many as 3 people (3.0%). The conclusions in this study were that the knowledge of the head of the family was good, while the attitude of the head of the family was sufficient in complying with the health protocol.

Abstract

Abstract School children are one of the targets for Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) in educational institutions and need to get attention besides the large population of school-age children in a community. The role of behaviour on the level of health, then promoting a healthy lifestyle in the elementary school students is very necessary. PHBS is very important to appyin everyday life, especially elementary school-age children. This study aims to determine the description of clean and healthy living behaviour in elementary schools. This research method is descriptive research. The research location was carried out at Bone-Bone Pantai Elementary School, Bambu Village, Mamuju District. Research time in June 2021. The samples in thi study were 27 students in grade 4, 30 stundents in grade 5 and 30 stundents in grade 6. The research instrument was to use a questionnaire containing questions and stationery and presenting data in the form of tables and narratives. Based on the results of this study, it showed that elementary school children had a high level of knowledge about good PHBS 94,3% and elementary school students actions that fulfilled the requirements 91,1 %. Suggestions from this study are for students to maintain habits of clean and healthy living behavior. Keywords : behavior, PHBS, elementary school students

Abstract

Many tofu home enterprises in Indonesia lack an IPAL treatment system, resulting in the direct discharge of liquid waste into rivers, which has an effect on the devastation of aquatic ecosystems and serves as a source of disease seeds. TSS levels and BOD levels have been set at 200 mg/l and 150 mg/l, respectively, in accordance with DIY Regional Regulation No. 7 of 2016 about the quality standards for the quality of tofu liquid waste. X tofu liquid waste has TSS levels of 1004 mg/l and BOD levels of 3780 mg/l, according to preliminary testing. Understanding how the addition of bamboo leaves (Bambusa Sp) and bamboo charcoal to three filtration methods for processing tofu liquid waste reduces the levels of TSS and BOD. The study's research methodology was a quasi-experiment using a pre-post test and control group design. Using the t-test, one-way anava test, and shapiro-Wilk test for inferential analysis. Using 20 cm bamboo leaves and 30 cm bamboo charcoal, treatment 3 reduced TSS levels by 54.44 percent and BOD levels by 66.21 percent. Treatment 1 used 30 cm bamboo leaves and 20 cm bamboo charcoal to reduce TSS levels by 69.81 percent and BOD levels by 69.31 percent. Treatment 2 used 25 cm bamboo leaves and 25 cm bamboo charcoal to reduce TSS levels by 61.33 percent and BOD levels by 66.84 percent. The TSS and BOD levels show sig.> 0.05 in the one-way anava test, indicating that there is a significant difference between the 3 filter treatments. The biggest reduction in TSS and BOD levels occurs in treatment 1, which also uses additional bamboo leaf media and bamboo charcoal for filtration.

Abstract

Wastewater is a combination of liquids or water or waste generated from household, institutional, commercial, and industrial activities that can cause various problems, one of which is the tofu industry that produces liquid and solid waste, especially liquid waste can cause environmental problems and pollution if not treated first. The wastewater quality standard for soybean processing activities includes Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Potential Hydrogen (pH), and Total Suspended Solid (TSS). The aim of this study is to determine the levels of BOD and COD in the liquid waste. This is a descriptive study with a population of workers from a tofu Industry, using a total population sampling technique, and wastewater samples were taken from the effluent discharge and examined in the laboratory. The sampling technique used was grab sampling. The results of the examination of BOD and COD in the wastewater of the tofu Industry were an average of 3,191 mg/L for BOD and 9,308.67 mg/L for COD. The conclusion is that the high levels of COD and BOD in the tofu Industry do not meet the standards.

Abstract

A high degree of health will affect the body's excellent performance. PT. X provides facilities for employees to consume food in the canteen. Canteens that do not have good sanitation can have an impact on health. Insects that often appear and fly around the canteen area are flies. Flies are vectors or nuisance animals with phyla arthropoda and orderdiptera. Purpose of knowingthe difference in the frequency of ultrasonic waves to the decrease in the density of flies. This type of quasi-experimental research with pre-test post-test without control design. Populationall the flies in the canteen, the sample is part of the flies that land on flygrill in the canteen with a sample size of 6 repetitions with 3 treatments, so that the sample size was 18 before the treatment and 18 after the treatment. The data collection tool is a fly grill, thermohygrometer, and hand counter. Data collection techniques by measuring the density of flies, temperature and humidity. Sampling technique incidental sampling. Data analysis using One-way Anova. Results: the average decrease in fly density after being treated with 45 kHz, 55 kHz, and 65 kHz was 23%, 36% and 61%. Referring to PERMENKES No. 70 of 2016 for quality standards for the density of flies is ≤ 2 tail. There is a large difference in the frequency of ultrasonic waves to the decrease in the density of flies. Suggestion: further research is needed regarding the length of time for measuring fly density adjusted to fly activity of at least 3 hours and increasing the size of the ultrasonic frequency wave. For the industry, by adding the length of treatment time so that the results of reducing the density of flies are in accordance with regulatory references.

Abstract

Noise is unwanted sound that can cause hearing loss. The level of air traffic noise (aircraft) and room temperature at SMAN 3 Bengkulu City exceeds the NAV of 81.3 dB. The research objective was to determine the relationship between air traffic noise levels (aircraft) with the disruption of the learning process of students of SMAN 3 Bengkulu City. The observational research method with a cross-sectional study population approach was all students of SMAN 3 Bengkulu City as many as 856 students, the sample of the study was a portion of the students from each representative as many as 90 students were taken using proportional random sample. The results showed that the level of aircraft noise with the learning process of SMAN 3 students in Bengkulu City (ρ = 0,000). The conclusion is that there is a relationship between aircraft noise level and the learning process of students of SMAN 3 Bengkulu City. Suggestions for schools to control noise by planting Kalpataru trees, installing silencers (fibers or foam).

Abstract

The environmental health problems such as low sanitation and hygiene are likely to trigger any digestive disorders that will probably influence the number of nutritions received by the body. As a result, the body's resistance of children could be affected, and they will be vulnerable to infection. With this case, there is a higher risk of stunting in children. The major purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between the environmental health and the occurrences of stunting in children under five years old in the area of Sawah Lebar Kota Bengkulu Health Center in 2023. The methodological approach taken in this research was observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The samples of this research were 250 children under five years old. They were selected by using a purposive sampling technique. The univariate analysis and bivariate analysis was conducted by using a chi-square test. Based on the statistical analysis, the findings of this research indicated that there were significant influences of the drinking water sources (p=0.022), the quality of drinking water (p=0.006), the ownership of latrine (p=0.041), the waste management (p=0.000), and the hand washing habits p=0.002) on the occurrences of stunting. However, the variables such as the drinking water treatment (p=0.454) and the solid waste management (p=0.70) were apparent to have no significant influences on the occurrences of stunting in the area of Sawah Lebar Kota Bengkulu Health Center. Therefore, as implications of this research, it is expected for for health workers to provide socialization on practical and effective methods of sanitation and hygienic lifestyle. Hence, people could be aware on the importance of maintaining environmental health to avoid the occurrences of infectious diseases that could trigger the cases of stunting in children.

Abstract

Garbage is still an environmental problem that is considered serious in Indonesia, every day waste is generated from household activities with both organic and inorganic. This is because the amount of waste in Indonesia is so high that it is difficult for the government to determine the right way to solve the waste problem. The purpose of this study is to determine waste handling, facilities and infrastructure and waste generation. The type of research used is analytic with cross sectional design. The sampling method used purposive sampling and data were collected by observation, then data analysis was done using chi-square. The average amount of waste generation in RW 20 Cipageran Village, North Cimahi District, Cimahi City on May 4 - 11 was 0.36 kg/person/day at the sorting stage, the result was that 19% fulfilled the requirements, while 81% did not meet the requirements. the results of observations at the sorting stage showed that 40% fulfilled the requirements, while 60% did not meet the requirements, the results of observations at the sorting stage showed that 63% fulfilled the requirements, while 36% did not meet the requirements. <0.05) then Ha is accepted so that there is a significant relationship between waste sorting and waste generation, the result of the analysis is that the value of p = 0.003 (<0.05) then Ha is accepted so that it can be interpreted that there is a significant relationship between waste storage and waste generation, the results of the analysis that the value of p = 0.160 (> 0.05) then Ha is rejected so that it can be interpreted that there is no significant relationship between waste collection and waste generation in RW 20

Abstract

Canteen is a place that provides food and beverages to be consumed by many people. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 5 of 2017 concerning Environmental Health Quality Standards and Health Requirements for Vectors and Disease-Carrying Disturbing Animals and Their Control, the fly quality standard must be less than 2 fly population indexes. Based on the results of preliminary measurements of fly density in the Kitchen of PT. X obtained a fly density index of 8 tails / flygrill, this is not qualified. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in UV lamp light intensity on dead flies in UV light trap electrocutors. This type of research is experimental research with Postest With Control research design. The treatment given is 3 treatments, namely variations in the light intensity of UV lamps 100 lux, 315 lux and 450 lux. The population in this study was flies in PT.X. samples in this study were flies in the kitchen of PT. X.The results of the study after analysis using the Anova test showed that the P value was 0.000 < α (0.05) which means that there is a significant influence between variations in the intensity of UV lamp light on fly mortality. The results of measuring the calculation of flies trapped with 6 repetitions for 1 hour each variation found as many as 74 flies that died, namely 4 flies in the control, 8 flies at an intensity of 100 lux, 24 flies at an intensity of 315 lux and 38 heads at an intensity of 450 heads. Based on the measurement results on the UV light trap electrocutor tool , the most dead flies are at an intensity of 450 lux.
