Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of Story Theme to improve moral theme understanding in primary school students. This program was designed to help students understand the storyline, moral lesson, and formulation of the moral story by creating new stories that have similar moral themes. The participants (N = 16) were the students in grade 5 elementary school and divided into two groups: 8 students in the experimental group and 8 students in the control group. This study used the experimental design of Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) and a measuring tool of Moral Theme Understanding. The result of the analysis showed that Theme Identification Program has improved the understanding of moral themes among elementary school students (z= -2,527 p= 0,012).Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Program Identifikasi Tema (PIT) dongeng dalam meningkatkan pemahaman tema moral pada siswa sekolah dasar. PIT dirancang untuk membantu anak memahami alur cerita, penalaran moral, dan perumusan pesan moral pada cerita dengan membuat cerita baru yang memiliki tema moral serupa. Partisipan (N=16) siswa kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar. Terbagi dalam dua kelompok yaitu 8 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen dan 8 siswa pada kelompok kontrol. Desain pada penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen dengan desain Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pemahaman Tema Moral (PTM) yang disusun berdasarkan alat ukur Moral Theme Comprehention. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, diketahui bahwa hipotesis penelitian diterima, artinyaprogram identifikasi tema (PIT) meningkatkan pemahaman tema moral (PTM) di sekolah dasar (z= -2,527 p= 0,012).

Abstract

The study aimed to explore the concept of happiness of the coastal poor in Java. It was conducted using grounded approach through interviewing the poor in coastal D.I. Yogyakarta. Research subjects came from six different coastal areas; Parangtritis, Samas, Baru, Goa Cemara, Kuwaru, and Pandansari. This study used narrative content analysis for four aspects of the discourse that originated from 16 research subjects with the background of farmers, laborers, traders and fishermen; (1) a happy experience, (2) sad or risky experience, (3) sources of happiness, (4) individual interpretation of coastal environment conditions. The results showed that the concept of happiness was strongly associated with the fulfillment of physiological needs and social needs. "Urip iku mung mung mampir ngombe" (life is only a while) was the main narrative that described the concept of happiness as a subsistent strategy that became the foundation of the psychological welfare of coastal communities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi peran emosi akademik dalam memediasi hubungan antara efikasi diri dan beban kognitif dalam pembelajaran matematik. Sebanyak 487 siswa (191 laki-laki dan 296 perempuan) terlibat dalam studi korelasional ini. Teknik analisis mediasi dalam structural equation modelling digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi peran emosi akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efikasi diri memprediksi emosi akademik (yakni kesenangan, kemarahan, dan kebosanan secara langsung, serta kecemasan secara tidak langsung). Selanjutnya emosi akademik memprediksi beban kognitif: di mana extraneous load diprediksi oleh kesenangan, kemarahan, dan kebosanan; intrinsic load diprediksi oleh kesenangan dan kecemasan, sedangan germane load hanya diprediksi kesenangan saja. Kesenangan memediasi efikasi diri dengan extraneous load secara negatif, tetapi memediasi efikasi diri dengan intrinsic dan germane load secara positif. Kemarahan memediasi efikasi diri dengan extraneous load secara negatif. Kebosanan memediasi efikasi diri dengan extraneous dan intrinsic load secara negatif. Abstract

People with borderline personality features (BPF) are characterized by impulsive, emotionally unstable, have unsafe sexual activity, and other actions that are at risk to commit suicide. Although some of the behavior is not included in crime, but if there is no prevention, the BPF will endanger itself and its environment This study aims to determine the relationship of childhood trauma, a romantic relationship, with BPF. The hypothesis are, 1) there is relationship between childhood trauma and BPF;2) there is relationship between romantic relationships andBPF. This study using 77 participant wives aged 20-40 years. Collecting data using of Borderline Personality Scale, Childhood Trauma Scale and Romantic relation Scale. Data analysis with product moment.The result of this study are 1)there is a relationship between childhood trauma and borderline personality (r = 0.6, p <0.01); 2) there is relationship between romantic relationship and borderline personality (r = - 0.5= p<0.01).

Abstract

One of the tasks of human development is to discover its identity. There are many ways a person can find that identity. One of them is through the identification of the idol figure. This study aims to understand the process of identity formation through the identification of shadow puppet figures in the context of Javanese culture. A qualitative phenomenological approach was used to understand the process retrospectively. Three main participants were involved in the study. The process of collecting data was done through in-depth interview methods to both the main participants and their significant others. FGD (focused group discussion) is also conducted to explore participants' understanding of their process of identity formation. Data analysis was done by the phenomenological method. This study found three main themes, namely interested in shadow puppet figures, matching self-image with puppet characters, and the use of feeling as a bridge between self and the puppet. This study concluded that shadow puppets can be used as a means to find an identity among their fans.Abstrak : Salah satu tugas perkembangan manusia adalah menemukan identitas dirinya. Banyak cara yang dilakukan seseorang untuk menemukan identitas tersebut. Salah satu diantaranya adalah melalui identifikasi tokoh yang menjadi idola. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami proses pembentukan identitas diri melalui identifikasi tokoh wayang pada para penggemar wayang dalam konteks budaya Jawa. Pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis digunakan untuk memahami proses tersebut secara retrospektif. Tiga orang partisipan utama terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode wawancara mendalam baik pada partisipan utama maupun orang-orang dekat mereka. FGD (focused group discussion) juga dilakukan untuk menggali pemahaman partisipan secara bersama-sama. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode fenomenologis. Penelitian ini menemukan tiga tema pokok, yaitu ketertarikan terhadap tokoh wayang, mencocokkan gambaran diri dengan tokoh wayang, dan penggunaan rasa sebagai jembatan antara diri dan wayang.Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa wayang dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana untuk menemukan identitas diri pada penggemarnya.

Abstract

Abstract. Mental illness had contributed 23% of global mental health burden. The high number of mental illness prevalence had impact on social and economic burden, yet only 10% was treated by professional treatment. This study aimed to find out the significance of mental health literacy and community attitude toward mental illness toward formal help seeking. The hypothesis was mental health literacy and community attitude toward mental illness predicted formal help-seeking. The method was quantitative approach, in which data were collected by paper-pen survey. Total respondent was 168 people living in urban area. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the data. The result showed mental health literacy and community attitude toward mental illness significantly predicted the formal help seeking simultaneously (F=3,466; p<0,05). This study implied that people who well literate in mental health issues and having positive community attitude in their environment can affect their help seeking to professional treatment.  Abstrak. Gangguan mental berkontribusi sebesar 23% terhadap beban kesehatan mental dunia. Tingginya angka prevalensi gangguan mental berdampak pada beban sosial dan ekonomi, namun hanya 10% yang menerima penanganan profesional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan signifikansi literasi kesehatan mental dan sikap komunitas terhadap gangguan mental terhadap pencarian pertolongan formal. Hipotesisnya adalah literasi kesehatan mental dan sikap komunitas terhadap gangguan mental memprediksi pencarian pertolongan formal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan survei kertas-pulpen. Jumlah responcen 168 orang yang tinggal di area perkotaan. Analisis regresi ganda digunakan untuk analisa data. Hasil menunjukkan literasi kesehatan mental dan sikap komunitas terhadap gangguan mental secara bersama-sama signifikan memprediksi pencarian pertolongan formal (F=3,466; p<0,05). Implikasi dari penelitian ini bahwa orang yang memiliki literasi kesehatan mental yang tinggi dan sikap komunitas yang positif memengaruhi pencarian pertolongan ke penanganan profesional.Kata kunci: literasi kesehatan mental, pencarian pertolongan formal, sikap komunitas

Abstract

Some variables such as self-esteem, relationship commitment in dyadic relation committed by the person, and positive attitude, suspected affect premarital sexual behavior. The aim of this study is to measure empirically the influence of self-esteem, relationship commitment, and the attitude of premarital sexual behavior to premarital sexual behavior in college students. This study involved 287 college students as participants. Structural equation model is used to test the hypothesis in this research. The results showed that the empirical model obtained in accordance with the theoretical model, or it has the goodness of fit. However, only committed relationship, and attitude of premarital sexual intercourse affect the premarital sexual behavior in college students.Abstrak : Harga diri dan komitmen hubungan pada relasi diadik, serta sikap positif ditengarai menjadi penyebab munculnya perilaku seks pranikah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui secara empiris apakah harga diri, komitmen hubungan, dan sikap terhadap perilaku seks pranikah memengaruhi perilaku seks pranikah pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini melibatkan 287 orang mahasiswa. StructuralEquationModel digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis di dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model empirik yang didapatkan sesuai dengan model teoretik yang dibangun. Namun demikian, hanya komitmen hubungan, dan sikap terhadap hubungan seks pranikah yang memengaruhi dilakukannya perilaku seks pranikah pada mahasiswa.

Abstract

The lack of knowledge on how to determine sample sizes in experiments is arguably one of the main reasons underlying the replication crisis in psychological science. A survey distributed among Indonesian students and researchers concerning 1) familiarity and understanding of statistical concepts related to sampling size determination, 2) current sample size determination practices in experiments, and 3) ideal sample sizes for experiments. Subsequently, we simulated expected statistical power given the sample sizes reported in the survey. Results demonstrated that 1) while a majority of participants were somewhat familiar with statistical concepts related to sampling size determination, they did not always endorse the correct and/or complete definition of each concept. Furthermore, 2) participants relied on practical considerations in determining sample sizes. Consequently, 3) the reported sample sizes did not have sufficient power to detect small to medium effect sizes, which are commonly present in psychological science.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of social support from family, supervisor, and co-workers toward the resilient self-efficacy of SEN teachers in Surabaya. This study involved 94 SEN teachers from Special Educational Needs school in Surabaya. The study used social support measures and resilient self-efficacy scale. Multiple regression analysis showed that social support from family, supervisor, and co-workers significantly influenced SEN teachers’ resilient self-efficacy (F = 28,052; p<0,05). These supports gave an effective contribution to resilient self-efficacy as much as 48,3% (R²=0,483). Hypothesis testing also showed that each source of support significantly influenced SEN teachers’ resilient self-efficacy. Therefore, social support from family, supervisors, and co-workers influenced the resilient self-efficacy of SEN teachers, whether they are given simul­taneously or separately.
