Abstract

Although the use of digital media in early childhood education (PAUD) institutions and primary schools at the Fase Fondasi has been fairly adaptive, its utilization to support deep learning remains suboptimal. This study aimed to analyze the optimization of digital media to support deep learning at the Fase Fondasi through literature review and observations in kindergartens and primary schools. The findings indicate that effective use of digital media is characterized by interactive, play-based learning designs that are mindful, meaningful, and joyful, and that are integrated with the learning outcomes of the Fase Fondasi. Implementing these strategies has a significant impact on increasing learner engagement, strengthening understanding of basic concepts, and stimulating the early development of higher-order thinking skills, including problem-solving and basic reasoning in young children. The study recommends teacher training and strengthened parent–school partnerships as prerequisites for the holistic implementation of digital media optimization to support deep learning at the Fase Fondasi.

Abstract

Although library facilities and infrastructure are key components in supporting service quality, studies that specifically describe users’ attitudes toward facilities and infrastructure at the level of regional library agencies remain limited. This study aimed to describe library users’ attitudes toward facilities and infrastructure at the Office of Library and Archives of Bukittinggi City based on the standards stipulated in Regulation of the Head of the National Library No. 8 of 2017 on the National Standards for Regency/Municipal Libraries (SNP), which include the library’s location, building, room, and facilities. The research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, involving 99 library users selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and literature study, and then analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics. The results showed that users’ attitudes toward the library’s location had an average score of 4.15, toward the library building 3.99, toward the library rooms 4.23, and toward library facilities 4.11, all of which indicate generally positive attitudes, although several notes remain regarding limitations in the available facilities. These findings affirm that the facilities and infrastructure at the Office of Library and Archives of Bukittinggi City are, in general, perceived positively by users in line with SNP benchmarks, while also signaling the need for continuous improvement to optimize comfort and the quality of services at regional libraries.

Abstract

Although Islamic philosophy of knowledge and education has been widely studied, systematic research that explicitly integrates the thought of Muslim philosophers as a philosophical foundation for developing a holistic model of Islamic education remains limited. This study aimed to describe the views of classical and contemporary Muslim philosophers on the philosophy of knowledge and to explain their relevance for formulating a comprehensive Islamic education that encompasses intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions. A qualitative approach with a descriptive literature study design was employed through a review of scholarly literature on the philosophy of knowledge, education, and the ideas of key Islamic thinkers such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and Al-Ghazali. Data analysis involved reduction, presentation, and synthesis to identify the main themes. The findings indicate that Islamic education should integrate revelation, reason, and empirical experience by employing a variety of learning methods—demonstrative, dialectical, empirical, ma'rifah, historical-sociological, and qiyās—to cultivate human beings who are intellectually, morally, and spiritually balanced. These findings provide theoretical and methodological contributions to the development of a holistic Islamic education curriculum and open opportunities for further empirical research on the implementation of these principles in diverse contemporary Islamic educational settings.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the limited availability of practical learning media and the low level of student engagement in learning Electronic Control Systems at vocational high schools, where the use of conventional media makes it difficult for students to understand application-oriented concepts that require concrete visualization of circuits. The study aimed to develop an E-Jobsheet learning media assisted by Tinkercad for the Electronic Control Systems subject in eleventh-grade classes at SMK Negeri 4 Pariaman to support more interactive and flexible practicum activities. A Research and Development (R&D) method was employed using the 4D model, which comprises the define, design, development, and disseminate stages. The trial subjects consisted of 20 students from class XI Industrial Electronics Engineering. The research instruments included material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, and student practicality questionnaires, while the data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques to determine the feasibility level of the developed learning media. The results showed that the media developed fell into the very valid category, with material expert validation of 83.60% and media expert validation of 83%, as well as a practicality test result of 89.15% in the very practical category. The study concludes that the Tinkercad-assisted E-Jobsheet is suitable for use as practicum learning media and has the potential to enhance students’ interest, engagement, and understanding in learning Electronic Control Systems at vocational high schools.

Abstract

Supervision is a key component in improving the quality of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI), as it functions not only as administrative oversight but also as a professional development effort for teachers to ensure that the learning process is effective, systematic, and aligned with the aims of Islamic education. This article aims to examine the nature of supervision in Islamic Religious Education in terms of its concepts, objectives, principles, and its role in enhancing the quality of PAI learning. The method employed is library research, involving analysis of various relevant books and scholarly journal articles. The review findings indicate that supervision in Islamic Religious Education has distinctive pedagogical, spiritual, and moral dimensions, and therefore its implementation must be grounded in Islamic values such as sincerity, amanah (trustworthiness), and responsibility. The study concludes that supervision which is effective and oriented toward the professional development of teachers contributes to the continuous improvement of PAI learning quality and can serve as a foundation for developing educational supervision policies and practices that are more humanistic and endowed with transcendental value. Abstract

Marriage is regarded as a crucial phase in the life cycle; however, some women choose to postpone marriage, one contributing factor being childhood experiences marked by parental divorce. Such experiences can shape negative perceptions of marriage and affect their emotional readiness to build a family. This study aimed to identify the reasons why women postpone marriage and to analyze the views of women who have experienced parental divorce regarding marriage. The study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The research subjects were unmarried women aged 25–30 years from divorced families, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the reasons women who have experienced parental divorce postpone marriage include: (1) fear and trauma resulting from their parents’ divorce; (2) a lack of trust in the opposite sex; and (3) the absence of healthy marital role models. These findings affirm that the experience of parental divorce significantly influences how women perceive marriage and shapes their decision to delay it, underscoring the importance of adequate psychosocial support from families, counselors, and educators in the process of recovery and strengthening women’s readiness for marriage.

Abstract

Kurikulum Cinta is a new approach in Islamic education that places the values of compassion, humanity, and peace at the core of learning, while also serving as a response to contemporary religious challenges such as intolerance, exclusivism, and tendencies toward extremism that risk reducing the meaning of religious education. This article aims to examine in depth the theoretical foundations of Kurikulum Cinta and its implementation in strengthening religious moderation through the development of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum in madrasah. This study employed a qualitative approach using a literature study method on Ministry of Religious Affairs policies, curriculum guidelines, and relevant research findings. The results show that Kurikulum Cinta has strong philosophical, theological, and pedagogical foundations and is aligned with the Profil Pelajar Pancasila and the Profil Pelajar Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin. The implementation of Kurikulum Cinta in madrasah can be realized through intracurricular and co-curricular learning and the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar, thereby contributing to the formation of students who are religious, moderate, tolerant, and of noble character, as well as strengthening religious moderation within the context of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Science process skills are a critical competency in biology education because they shape students’ ability to think and work scientifically, yet structured mapping of recent research findings on this topic remains limited. This study aimed to examine science process skills in biology learning based on findings from previous studies. A literature study method was employed by analyzing eight national and international research articles published between 2018 and 2024. The articles were retrieved from the Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and ERIC databases and selected based on their relevance to science process skills in biology learning. Data were analyzed using content analysis by reviewing each article’s research objectives, learning context, indicators of science process skills, and main findings. The review shows that students’ science process skills tend to develop through biology learning that emphasizes scientific activities such as observation, problem formulation, experimentation, data analysis, and scientific communication, while valid and standardized assessment of science process skills plays an important role in supporting their development. Overall, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the role of science process skills as a foundation for biology learning oriented toward scientific processes and serves as a reference for further research in science education.

Abstract

Majmūʿah al-Syarīʿāt al-Kāfiyāt li al-ʿAwām is one of the sharīʿah intellectual legacies of the Nusantara, written in Javanese using the Arabic Pegon script by the 18th-century scholar Sholeh ibn Umar al-Samarani (Kyai Sholeh Darat). This article provides a descriptive–analytical examination of the content of the work and its relevance for Nusantara society. The book reflects Kyai Sholeh Darat’s sense of responsibility and concern regarding the religious problems of lay Muslims in his time, particularly in relation to the practice of sharīʿah. Substantively, this work of fiqh emerging from a local community places strong emphasis on the dimension of tasawuf and adopts a contextual fiqh approach that is closely attuned to the community’s socio-religious realities. Analysis of the text shows that although Kyai Sholeh Darat’s fiqh thought does not differ significantly in normative terms from classical fiqh works, it nonetheless represents the rich corpus of Nusantara fiqh that has played an important role in shaping the teachings and traditions of Islam Nusantara. These findings underscore the importance of exploring and developing Nusantara fiqh as a foundation for formulating contextual and moderate Islamic law that is aligned with local traditions and cultures, thereby remaining relevant for regulating the religious life of Muslims in the Nusantara today and in the future.

Abstract

The blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) is a high-value fishery commodity that is extensively exploited by fishers in the coastal waters of Jumiang Beach, Pamekasan Regency, using collapsible traps (bubu lipat) as the main fishing gear, which belong to the trap category. This study aimed to analyze the effect of different bait types used in bubu lipat traps on blue swimming crab catches. An experimental method was employed with three bait treatments: A: pepetek fish (Leiognathus sp.), B: chicken intestines, and C: snails. Catch data were analyzed using an F-test. The results showed that pepetek fish bait yielded 25 crabs with a total weight of 2.115 kg, chicken intestine bait yielded 26 crabs with a total weight of 2.054 kg, and snail bait yielded 28 crabs with a total weight of 1.986 kg. Based on the F-test for catch numbers (individuals), a significance value of 0.147 (> 0.05) was obtained, while for catch weight (kg), the significance value was 0.072 (> 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that differences in bait type in the operation of bubu lipat traps did not have a significant effect on the number of blue swimming crab catches, either in terms of individuals or weight. These findings indicate that the choice among the three bait types used does not constitute a key differentiating factor in optimizing blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) catches with bubu lipat traps in the coastal waters of Jumiang Beach.
