Abstract

Technological development and globalization over the past decade have affected the decline in the quality of social interaction and the increase in children’s individualistic behavior, making the strengthening of morality and social cohesion through religious education increasingly important. This study aims to describe the role of Al-Qur’an reading guidance in moral development and its contribution to the formation of children’s social cohesion at Madrasah Diniyah Darussalamah. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 15 santri and 1 ustadz selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that Al-Qur’an reading guidance conducted regularly was able to foster discipline, responsibility, and patience among the santri. In addition, this activity also encouraged the formation of positive social interactions, such as mutual respect, waiting for one’s turn, and complying with shared rules. A structured learning pattern and direct interaction between the ustadz and the santri became important factors in the process of internalizing moral and social values. These findings affirm that Al-Qur’an reading guidance functions not only as cognitive learning, but also as an effective means of moral development and strengthening children’s social cohesion, while also providing practical implications for the development of value-based learning that integrates cognitive, affective, and social aspects in religious education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by differences in community responses to the implementation of the Social Affairs Program in Pringkuku Subdistrict, which reflect the dynamics of social change as well as the gap between policy and field realities. This study aims to analyze community responses to the implementation of the Social Affairs Program in Pringkuku Village, Pringkuku Subdistrict, Pacitan Regency. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical type. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, with informants selected purposively, including village officials, community leaders, and program beneficiaries. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results showed that community responses to the implementation of the social affairs program were diverse and were influenced by the level of public understanding of the program, the role of local leaders, and the suitability of the program to the needs and social values of the local community. In addition, the level of community participation in program planning, implementation, utilization of results, and evaluation became an important factor in determining the effectiveness of the implementation of the social policy. The conclusion of this study confirms that social programs at the village level should not be oriented only toward the provision of assistance, but must also be directed toward enhancing community capacity so that people can become economically and socially self-reliant. These findings contribute to strengthening the study of social policy, social change, and community participation, and confirm that the success of program implementation is strongly determined by the active involvement of the community in all stages of implementation.

Abstract

Jihad represents an important concept in Islamic teachings and is generally understood as struggle in the way of Allah to uphold and strengthen Islam. However, jihad is not limited to warfare; it may also involve the sacrifice of wealth and life, as well as efforts through preaching. This article examines the concept of jihad in the Qur’an by comparing the interpretations of Sayyid Quthb in Fi Zilalil Qur’an and M. Quraish Shihab in Al-Misbah. The study aims to understand how jihad is interpreted in these two exegetical works. Using a qualitative library research method, the study analyzes the views of Sayyid Quthb and M. Quraish Shihab in interpreting Qur’anic verses related to jihad, supported by relevant books, journal articles, and previous studies. The findings indicate that, according to Sayyid Quthb, jihad is a form of struggle to liberate human beings from all forms of servitude to anything other than Allah. In contrast, Quraish Shihab interprets jihad as an effort to achieve victory, sincerity in struggle, and goodness through the use of knowledge, reason, and energy. This study contributes to Qur’anic interpretation studies by highlighting the conceptual differences between two influential exegetes in understanding jihad. It also provides a broader perspective on jihad as a multidimensional concept that extends beyond armed struggle and includes intellectual, spiritual, and moral efforts.

Abstract

Religiosity and learning motivation are important factors that have the potential to support students’ learning achievement, particularly in Islamic Religious Education subjects. This study aims to analyze the profile of students’ religiosity, learning motivation, and learning achievement; the relationship between religiosity and learning achievement; the relationship between learning motivation and learning achievement; and the simultaneous relationship between religiosity and learning motivation and students’ Islamic Religious Education learning achievement at MAN 1 Konawe. This study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method and correlational design. The research population included all 340 students of MAN 1 Konawe, while a sample of 77 students was determined through stratified random sampling using the Yamane formula. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and inferentially after meeting the prerequisite tests, including normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and autocorrelation tests. Hypothesis testing was carried out using correlation analysis and multiple regression. The results show that students’ religiosity, learning motivation, and learning achievement are in the moderately good category. Religiosity has a positive and significant relationship with learning achievement, and learning motivation also has a positive and significant relationship with learning achievement. Simultaneously, religiosity and learning motivation have a positive and significant relationship with students’ Islamic Religious Education learning achievement at MAN 1 Konawe. These two variables contribute 62.3%, while the remaining 37.7% is influenced by other factors outside this study. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that the better students’ religiosity and learning motivation, the better the Islamic Religious Education learning achievement they attain. These findings imply the importance of strengthening religious values and learning motivation in the educational process to support the improvement of students’ academic achievement.

Abstract

The transformation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning has become a focus in various studies, but research that specifically discusses the integration of Islamic law-based PAI learning through the strengthening of Indonesian language literacy in the Society 5.0 era remains limited. This study aims to describe the transformation of Islamic law-based PAI learning through the strengthening of Indonesian language literacy. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving 2 PAI teachers and 30 secondary school students selected through the purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation and were then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that strengthening Indonesian language literacy in PAI learning can increase student engagement, contextual understanding of Islamic law concepts, as well as critical thinking and communication skills. In addition, learning becomes more interactive, reflective, and relevant to the needs of the 21st century. These findings contribute to the development of the concept of literacy-based PAI learning as a transformational approach in Islamic education. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that the integration of literacy in PAI learning is important for improving the quality of students’ religious understanding and higher-order thinking skills. The practical implication is that teachers and educational institutions need to develop innovative and literacy-based learning strategies so that PAI learning becomes more contextual, communicative, and adaptive to the demands of the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Although innovations in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and the development of Islamic economics in the era of digitalization have been widely discussed, studies that specifically examine the integration of digital-based PAI learning in instilling Islamic economic principles contextually and applicatively remain limited. This study aimed to analyze and describe PAI learning innovations in instilling Islamic economic principles in the era of digitalization. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 30 participants consisting of 2 PAI teachers and 28 senior high school students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires as supporting data, and were then analyzed using thematic analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that digital-based learning innovations contributed to improving students’ understanding of Islamic economic concepts, as reflected in their critical thinking skills, active engagement in learning, and strengthening of religious attitudes such as honesty and responsibility. The use of digital media, Islamic transaction simulations, and a problem-based approach also supported the internalization of Islamic economic values in a more contextual and applicative manner. These findings contribute to the development of constructivist theory and digital literacy in PAI learning, while also broadening understanding of technology integration in value-based education. The conclusion of this study confirms the importance of digital-based learning innovation as a strategy for shaping students’ understanding and character in Islamic economics, as well as encouraging teachers and educational institutions to integrate technology systematically into the learning process.

Abstract

Arabic language learning, particularly qirā’ah skills, still faces challenges related to the limited availability of teaching materials that are contextual, engaging, and relevant to students’ lives. Generic qirā’ah materials with limited local cultural content tend to reduce learning interest and make it difficult for students to understand reading texts. This study aimed to develop qirā’ah materials based on Palembang folktales using the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) approach and to test their feasibility and effectiveness in Arabic language learning. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the Borg and Gall model, which was simplified into seven stages, namely needs analysis, planning, product development, expert validation, revision, limited trial, and product refinement. The research subjects were seventh-grade students of MTsN 1 Palembang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and qirā’ah comprehension tests. The results showed that the developed qirā’ah materials were considered highly feasible based on assessments by material, language, and media experts. Students’ responses to the teaching materials were also in the very good category in terms of comprehensibility, attractiveness, and practicality. In addition, the use of qirā’ah materials based on Palembang folktales with the TPACK approach was proven effective in improving students’ literal and inferential reading comprehension. The conclusion of this study confirms that the development of qirā’ah materials based on local wisdom and integrated with the TPACK approach can serve as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of Arabic language learning in madrasahs.

Abstract

The development of Are Guling Beach as a tourist attraction in Central Lombok Regency still faces several problems, particularly limited accessibility, inadequate facilities, and suboptimal management. This study aimed to formulate effective development strategies based on internal and external factors that influence the Are Guling Beach tourism area. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the SWOT method. The results showed that Are Guling Beach has strong natural potential, good community support, and an increasing trend of tourist visits, particularly domestic tourists. However, its development is still constrained by poor road access, limited facilities, and weak organizational management. Development opportunities are supported by relevant regulations and increasing interest in tourism, whereas threats arise from competition with other destinations, including the Mandalika Special Economic Zone. The formulated development strategies include improving accessibility, enhancing facilities, strengthening human resources, and optimizing promotion. The conclusion of this study confirms that the development of Are Guling Beach requires integrated management among the government, the community, and the private sector to optimize the existing tourism potential. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of sustainable tourism planning, infrastructure strengthening, and human resource capacity building to improve destination competitiveness and expand the reach of tourist visits.

Abstract

Although the use of innovative learning media in science learning has been widely studied, research that specifically discusses the integration of ecosystem dioramas with augmented reality technology at the elementary school level remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of applying augmented reality-based ecosystem diorama media on the science learning outcomes of elementary school students. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically an unequal control group, with sampling carried out through a cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using test instruments in the form of a pretest and a posttest. Data analysis was conducted through descriptive and inferential statistics, including the N-Gain test, normality, homogeneity, and the independent samples t-test. The results showed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental group and the control group, with the experimental group obtaining a higher mean score. The results of the independent samples t-test showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) below 0.05, indicating that the use of augmented reality-based ecosystem diorama media had a significant effect on students’ science learning outcomes. These findings provide a theoretical contribution to the development of interactive learning media and enrich the literature on technology integration in science education at the elementary school level. The conclusion of this study confirms that the integration of ecosystem diorama media with augmented reality is effective in improving student learning outcomes, so it can serve as an alternative technology-based learning medium to create a more meaningful science learning experience.

Abstract

Although the development of early childhood numeracy skills has received considerable attention in previous studies, research that specifically discusses the development of early counting skills through mathematics-based educational games at PAUD Raodatul Jannah Baru-Baru Tanga remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the development of early childhood counting skills through mathematics-based educational games. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects were Group B early childhood students at PAUD Raodatul Jannah Baru-Baru Tanga, with the teacher serving as the main informant. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that mathematics-based educational games, such as number cards, counting blocks, and games involving matching the number of objects, helped improve children’s ability to recognize numbers, count objects, and understand simple addition concepts. The learning process also became more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable, thereby increasing children’s motivation and active participation in learning activities. In addition, teachers played an important role in creating game-based learning that was directed and meaningful. These findings contribute to the development of play-based early childhood mathematics learning and broaden understanding of numeracy strengthening in the context of early childhood education. The conclusion of this study confirms that mathematics-based educational games can serve as an effective and child-centered learning strategy for improving early counting skills in early childhood education.
