Abstract

Low student learning discipline remains one of the main obstacles to achieving academic targets, especially during the critical hours after midday. This study aimed to examine the effect of habituation to congregational Dhuhr prayer on students’ learning discipline at SMP SBP Darul Hikmah Bangkalan. This study employed an associative quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis. The study population consisted of 244 students, with a sample of 90 students selected through the Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed with SPSS software. The results showed that habituation to congregational prayer had a positive and significant effect on students’ learning discipline (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.486 indicated that habituation to congregational prayer contributed 48.6% to the variation in students’ learning discipline. This study concludes that the habituation of ritual worship contributes to the development of independent academic discipline. The implications of this study affirm the importance of strengthening structured religious programs as a behavioral intervention strategy to support the formation of students’ character and intellectual orderliness in Islamic-based educational institutions.

Abstract

Although studies on zuhud based on Tafsir al-Mishbah have received attention in a number of previous studies, discussions that specifically examine its relevance to the FOMO phenomenon among young people remain limited. This study aims to analyze the relevance of the values of zuhud in the verses of the Qur’an to the FOMO phenomenon among young people in the digital era. This study used a qualitative approach with a library research design through a thematic exegesis (maudhu’i) approach. The research data sources included primary and secondary data, which were collected through documentation techniques, literature study, as well as searches of digital databases and scientific journals. The data were analyzed using content analysis, while the validity and credibility of the data were maintained through source triangulation and theory triangulation. The results showed that the values of zuhud in Tafsir al-Mishbah have very strong relevance as a spiritual-psychological solution for those experiencing FOMO. This finding contributes to the development of studies on the FOMO phenomenon among young people while also expanding understanding of the concept of zuhud in Tafsir al-Mishbah. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that zuhud can build the mental resilience of young people so that they remain able to interact wisely in the digital era without losing their identity. The implications of this study include a theoretical contribution in enriching the literature on the relevance of the values of zuhud as a spiritual-psychological solution to FOMO, as well as practical implications for young people and educators. This study also opens opportunities for further research on the implementation of the values of zuhud in preventing the negative impacts of the FOMO phenomenon.

Abstract

The use of digital platforms in zakat management has received attention in various studies, but empirical studies that comprehensively integrate the aspects of zakat collection and distribution at the local level remain limited. This study aims to analyze the contribution of digital platforms in optimizing zakat collection and distribution at BAZNAS Pasaman Regency, as well as to identify the obstacles and opportunities in their implementation. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving informants drawn from BAZNAS administrators, muzakki, and mustahik selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques with the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results showed that digital platforms, such as social media, bank transfers, and QRIS, contributed to increasing the ease, efficiency, and reach of zakat collection, although their utilization has not been evenly distributed across the community. In the distribution aspect, digital platforms played a role in the data collection and management of mustahik information in a more systematic manner, but their implementation was still limited to the administrative stage and had not been fully integrated. The main obstacles identified included low digital literacy, limited network infrastructure, and a level of public trust in digital systems that was not yet optimal, while the emerging opportunities included increased transparency, management efficiency, and expanded access to zakat services. These findings contribute to the development of digital-based zakat management theory and enrich the study of contemporary Islamic economics. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of strengthening digital literacy, developing integrated systems, and increasing public trust in order to optimize technology-based zakat management.

Abstract

Although environmental management in pondok pesantren, particularly in the aspects of sanitation and cleanliness, is an important necessity, its implementation remains challenging due to the large number of santri and the density of daily activities. This study aims to analyze the Eco-Pesantren-based environmental management strategy in managing sanitation and cleanliness at Pondok Pesantren Anwarul Huda Malang. This study used a qualitative method with a field study approach through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the pesantren leader, administrators, and santri. The results showed that the environmental management strategy was implemented in a planned and integrated manner through the functions of planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation. Sanitation and cleanliness management is not only technical in nature, but is also internalized as a pesantren value and culture through written policies, active participation of santri, and an educational supervisory approach. The Eco-Pesantren program has a positive impact on environmental cleanliness, pesantren health, and the formation of santri awareness and clean living behavior. This study concludes that Pondok Pesantren Anwarul Huda Malang can serve as a model of good practice in implementing Eco-Pesantren based on sustainable environmental management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Hijaiyah letter matching game in improving the visual discrimination ability of children aged 3–4 years at KB Putra Utama II. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 15 children selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and developmental assessment sheets, and were then analyzed descriptively by comparing the pretest and posttest results. The results showed that before the treatment, most children still had difficulty recognizing and distinguishing Hijaiyah letters with similar forms. After the treatment was administered, the children’s visual discrimination ability improved, as indicated by the increasing number of children in the good category and the rise in the average score from 55 to 82. In addition, the children also became more active and enthusiastic in learning. This study concludes that the Hijaiyah letter matching game is effective as a learning medium for improving the visual discrimination ability of early childhood and provides implications for educators to develop game-based learning that is interactive and appropriate to children’s characteristics.

Abstract

The relationship between Islam and politics has remained a central theme in modern Islamic political discourse, particularly in response to colonialism, secularism, and moral crises in Muslim societies. This study aimed to examine the integrity of Islamic political thought in the perspectives of Hasan al-Banna and Sayyid Qutb and to analyze how both thinkers conceptualized Islamic politics as an integrated system encompassing religion and state. The study employed a qualitative descriptive design with a library research approach, drawing on books, journal articles, and relevant digital sources. The findings indicate that Hasan al-Banna advanced a gradual and reformative approach through education, moral development, and organizational movements, viewing politics as an instrument for achieving social justice and public welfare based on Islamic values. By contrast, Sayyid Qutb adopted a more ideological and transformative perspective, introducing concepts such as hakimiyyah and modern jahiliyyah and advocating the comprehensive implementation of Sharia as the foundation of governance. Despite these differences in emphasis, both thinkers rejected the separation of religion and politics and maintained that Islam provides a comprehensive system regulating all aspects of life. The study concludes that the political thought of Hasan al-Banna and Sayyid Qutb makes an important contribution to contemporary Islamic political discourse by underscoring the significance of moral integrity, social reform, and the integration of religious principles in governance as foundations for justice and societal well-being.

Abstract

The prevalence of religious understanding that tends to be exclusive in the campus environment underscores the importance of strengthening religious moderation through structured and sustainable academic pathways. This study aims to examine the concept of integrating religious moderation values into the Islamic Education Comparison course, analyze its implementation in the learning process, and formulate an integrative model that is applicable and replicable in Islamic higher education. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design in the Islamic Religious Education Study Program at IAIN Curup, with fourth-semester students selected purposively as the research subjects. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and curriculum documentation, and were then analyzed using an interactive model that included data condensation, data display, and iterative conclusion drawing. The results revealed three main findings. First, the values of religious moderation, such as tawassuth, tawazun, tasamuh, and i'tidal, have been implicitly embedded in the curriculum structure, but have not yet been standardized as measurable learning outcomes. Second, the implementation of religious moderation took place organically through a dialogic-comparative approach that was proven to transform students’ religious orientation from exclusive to inclusive. Third, this study produced the KTIM Model (Comparative-Transformative-Inclusive-Moderate) as a structured and applicable integration framework. These findings contribute to the development of a moderation-based Islamic education curriculum that is responsive to the needs of Indonesia’s plural society and underscore the importance of integrating the values of religious moderation more systematically into learning in Islamic higher education.

Abstract

Although the formation of students’ morals through Islamic Religious Education has received attention in various studies, studies that specifically discuss the interconnected roles of teachers, the social environment, and digital technology in the moral formation of Generation Z remain limited. This study aims to analyze the roles of Islamic Religious Education teachers, the environment, and technology in the moral formation of Generation Z among students. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design, involving three participants consisting of one Islamic Religious Education teacher and two students of class XII A selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that Islamic Religious Education teachers have a primary role in students’ moral formation through role modeling, habituation, and the provision of advice. The family environment and students’ peer associations also influence the habituation of moral behavior, whereas digital technology has a dual influence as a learning medium as well as a challenge to students’ moral development. These findings contribute to the development of social learning theory and broaden understanding of the relevance of Islamic Religious Education in the context of the digital generation. This study concludes that synergy among teachers, the environment, and the use of technology is very important in supporting students’ moral formation, so schools and families need to strengthen collaboration in fostering students’ character. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to enriching Islamic Religious Education studies and practical contributions for educational institutions in designing learning strategies that are more adaptive to technological developments, while also opening opportunities for further research in broader school contexts.

Abstract

Although the use of visual strategies in learning, such as mind mapping, has received increasing attention in previous studies, research that specifically addresses its effect on improving Arabic writing skills among students in Islamic junior high schools remains limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of using mind mapping on improving the writing skills of students at Bahrul Ulum Islamiyah Sengganji Islamic Junior High School. The researcher employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent two-group model, involving 60 students selected through purposive sampling. The data were collected using pretests and posttests, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using an independent-samples t-test with SPSS 26.0. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups (t = -5.335, p < 0.05), indicating that the use of mind mapping effectively contributed to improving students’ ability to organize ideas, enhance memory and concentration, and produce coherent and well-organized texts. These results contribute to the development of Tony Buzan’s cognitive theory of mind mapping, while also broadening understanding of effective strategies for teaching productive skills in Arabic. The study concludes that mind mapping plays a vital role in facilitating organized and creative writing in Arabic language learning, and recommends its integration into educational practices to encourage active and purposeful learning. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to the field of Arabic language teaching, as well as practical recommendations for educational institutions seeking to improve students’ proficiency in writing skills. This study also opens avenues for future research on integrating mind mapping into the development of other language skills, such as reading and reading comprehension.

Abstract

Although the development of digital learning media has received attention in several previous studies, research that specifically discusses the use of digital-based E-Mind Mapping to improve elementary school students’ understanding of mathematical concepts remains limited. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of digital-based E-Mind Mapping in mathematics learning in elementary school. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental design, involving 28 fifth-grade students of SDN 50 Bonto Panno, Pangkep Regency, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using learning outcome tests, student response questionnaires, and observation sheets, and were then analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and the paired-sample t-test. The results showed that the students’ mean pretest score of 62.4 increased to 84.7 on the posttest. The paired-sample t-test results showed a t-value of 9.85 with significance (p) < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after the use of digital-based E-Mind Mapping media. In addition, the N-Gain test result showed a value of 0.68, which fell into the moderate-to-high category. Students’ responses to the use of this media were also in the very positive category, with a percentage of 91.2%. These findings indicate that visual- and digital-based learning media are effective in improving students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. The conclusion of this study affirms the importance of integrating E-Mind Mapping into mathematics learning as a more interactive and meaningful learning innovation, while also providing theoretical and practical contributions to the development of digital-based mathematics learning in elementary schools.
