Abstract

The research aims to explore the implementation of religious moderation in the response of Islamic and Christian religions to modernity. By highlighting the rapidly developing social, cultural and political context, this research pays attention to how these two main religions respond to the changes brought by modernity with a moderation approach. Through a descriptive qualitative approach involving literature analysis, this research examines how Islam and Christianity adapt to the challenges and opportunities posed by modernity. The main focus of research is on efforts to promote interfaith dialogue, tolerance, and deeper understanding between followers of different religions. The research findings show that, although the challenges of modernity may create tensions in religious interpretation and religious practice, there are promising trends in the implementation of religious moderation. In both Islamic and Christian contexts, efforts are seen to balance religious traditions with modern values such as democracy, human rights and pluralism. Meanwhile, challenges such as fundamentalism, radicalization and extremism remain obstacles in realizing comprehensive religious moderation. Nevertheless, this research highlights initiatives and practices that encourage interfaith dialogue, openness, and interfaith cooperation as positive steps in facing the complexities of modernity. This research contributes to further understanding of how major religions respond to the dynamics of modernity in a balanced and open way.

Abstract

Ḥadīṡ Nabī is the main source of Islamic teachings after the Al-Qur’ān. A ḥadīṡ that is ṣaḥīḥ in terms of its sanad is not necessarily ṣaḥīḥ in terms of its mata. Sometimes he is weak in terms of his eyes, namely after the faqihs find hidden defects in him. Furthermore, ḥadīṡ Nabī does not only discuss matters of law, worship, muamalah, but ḥadīṡ Nabī also talks about prayers in everyday life. This article aims to determine the authenticity of the ḥadīṡ-ḥadīṡ in the book Kanzun an-Najah wa as-Surūr. The problem in this research is the quality of ḥadīṡ-ḥadīṡ regarding prayer and practice in the book Kanzun an-Najah wa as-Surūr chapter of the Month of Safar and ḥadīṡ’s understanding of prayer and practice in the book Kanzun an-Najah wa as-Surūr chapter of the Month of Safar. This research uses library research with the main reference being the book Kanzun an-Najah wa as-Surūr. The secondary references are the ḥadīṡ books which are included in the al-Tis’ah pole, books, journals, theses, theses, etc. The data collection technique used is the documentation method, namely collecting data based on the things discussed in the form of notes, transcripts, books, magazines, and so on. Meanwhile, in analyzing the data, the techniques used were the mauḍū’ī and naqd al-Sanad and matan methods. The research in this thesis found that the two ḥadīṡ in the Month of Shafar chapter studied had different qualities, the first ḥadīṡ had the quality of ḥasan, while the second ḥadīṡ had the quality of ḍa’īf. Likewise, the understanding of ḥadīṡ regarding prayer at the end of the month of Safar, there are differences of opinion among the ulama, some ulama allow it, such as Shaīkh ‘Abdul Ḥamīd, and others forbid it.

Abstract

The phenomenon of declining student ethics in today's educational environment reflects a serious challenge among education leaders, teachers, and students. This has implications for the quality of education. The damage to ethics, manners, and behavior is concerning, indicating a lack of attention to moral education in the present era. The aim of this research is to describe Mu’allim (teacher) and Muta’allim (student) according to Imam An-Nawawi, and to explain the relevance of these etiquettes to moral education in the current era. The research method employed is qualitative, specifically the library research type. The research findings are expected to serve as a guide for educators and learners in maintaining proper conduct in the educational environment. Imam An-Nawawi's thoughts on the ethics of teachers and students prove to be relevant to contemporary moral education. The implementation of moral conduct in the education sector needs attention to uphold moral values and ethics, shape the character of the younger generation, and prevent moral damages detrimental to education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and compare the concept of trust in Islamic and Christian views. Through a qualitative approach, data was collected from primary sources such as the Al-Qur'an, Hadith, and Christian holy books, and also from theological and philosophical literature relevant to the concept of trust in both religions. The analytical method is carried out by exploring verses from the Koran and the Christian Bible related to trust, as well as studying classical texts and comments by Christian scholars and theologians related to this concept. In addition, interviews with religious scholars from both traditions were also conducted to gain a deeper understanding. Research findings show that despite differences in terminology and emphasis, the concept of trust in Islam and Christianity has many similarities, especially in terms of integrity, honesty and responsibility. Both the Qur'an and the Bible emphasize the importance of maintaining trust, both in spiritual and worldly affairs, as part of moral and ethical obligations. This study also highlights how both religions view trust as an important moral foundation in building human relationships with God and with fellow humans. In the context of modern society, a deep understanding of the concept of trust from Islamic and Christian perspectives can make a valuable contribution in shaping individual character and morality and strengthening the values of justice, integrity and social responsibility.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of Tahsin Al-Qurán students who are spread across various places of Al-Qurán education but still have minimal correct pronunciation of Tajweed. This is influenced by learning methods, the role of the teacher, and the regulations set by the Al-Qurán education place. So here it is interesting for me to study the method used in learning Tahsin Al-Qurán, namely the Talaqqi method. What I studied was aimed at finding out the implementation of the students' Halaq letter recitation in the house of the Baitul Qurán tahfidz in Padang City. This study uses a qualitative method. The population of this study was 4 people. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews and documentation with the head of the Tahfizh House, teachers and students. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results obtained through observations, interviews and documentation at the Baitul Qurán tahfizh house in Padang City, the implementation of the Talaqqi method in correcting the makharijul of Halaq letters at the Baitul Qurán tahfizh house in Padang City is done by the teacher first correcting each of the students' halaq letters, supported by talaqqi book, jaw chart, and blackboard.

The results of this research show that Salafi and Charismatic Christian teachings are two religious sects that have quite striking differences in beliefs, practices and approaches. theological. According to the view of Islamic scholars, Salafis prioritize a literal and literal understanding of the Qur'an, emphasize monotheism, and reject the practice of heresy. They try to maintain Islamic practices which they believe are in accordance with the initial teachings. On the other hand, Charismatic Christians prioritize spiritual experiences and the gifts of the Holy Spirit in Christian life. They believe that the Holy Spirit is active in providing gifts such as speaking in tongues, spiritual healing, and other charismatic experiences.

Abstract

The act of khurafat is strongly against Islamic teachings because it is not mentioned in the Al-Qur'an or the Prophet Muhammad SAW's Sunnah, yet it is nevertheless done and believed in Islamic society today. The author of this study discusses Muhammadiyah's contribution to the Islamic Society of Pegajahan District's (Case Study of Sukasari Village) 2023 victory over Khurafat. Finding out which of Khurafat's deeds are still performed and accepted by the Islamic community is the goal of this study. What part does Muhammadiyah play in helping Islamic society in Pegajahan Subdistrict, Sukasari, overcome khurafat? What are the circumstances that both encourage and hinder Muhammadiyah in doing so. This kind of field research gathers data by making direct observations of the subject of the study. This study used a qualitative, phenomenological approach to describe events that happened in the field, as gathered from interviews, documentation, and observations. The study's findings highlight Muhammadiyah's contribution to ending khurafat, a practice that is still often practiced in Islamic communities today. However, a person's faith may be harmed by this act of khurafat. In this instance, Muhammadiyah assigns the Islamic community its responsibility, claiming that khurafat is a doctrine that is against Islam and an act of disobedience that Allah SWT detests. As His slaves, we ought to practice greater piety.
