Abstract

The transformation of information technology has shifted the paradigm of Islamic dakwah from conventional methods to a participatory and interactive two-way communication model through various digital platforms. This study aims to construct the relationship between Islamic dakwah methods and digital media literacy within the context of modern religious education and communication. A literature review method was employed by examining scholarly works related to dakwah strategies, digital media, and media literacy. The findings reveal that digital dakwah is not merely an adaptation to technological advancements but also represents an epistemological transformation that demands creativity, wisdom, and an understanding of the socio-cultural context of digital society. Digital media literacy plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of dakwah, safeguarding it from value distortion, misinformation, and hate speech. Digital literacy competencies for da’i include the ability to access, evaluate, and ethically produce content, aligning with the principles of al-hikmah, al-mau‘izhah al-hasanah, and al-jidal bi al-lati hiya ahsan. Thus, digital literacy functions not only as a technical skill but also as a form of bashirah—dakwah grounded in knowledge, strategic awareness, and spiritual consciousness. The main conclusion of this study is that integrating digital literacy into dakwah practices can foster an intelligent, moderate, and humanistic Islamic dakwah ecosystem. Practically, this highlights the importance of creatively packaged dakwah that resonates with the digital generation's lifestyle, while socially, media literacy becomes a strategic instrument in combating disinformation and strengthening ukhuwah and humanitarian values. These findings also expand the dimension of digital literacy as an integral part of spirituality and intellectualism in contemporary dakwah practice.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing intensity of online gaming among adolescents, particularly Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which potentially influences the development of students' Islamic character. The objective of this research is to analyze the intensity and patterns of online gaming and to identify its impact on the formation of Islamic character among ninth-grade students at MTs. Nurul Huda Sumur Wangi, Bogor City, while also exploring the roles of teachers, parents, and the surrounding environment in reinforcing students’ Islamic values. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, conducted from July to August 2025, with primary data obtained from interviews and observations, and secondary data drawn from documents and supporting publications. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that students exhibit relatively high gaming intensity, playing 2–3 hours per day with a frequency of 10–20 sessions per week. This habit negatively affects Islamic character development, particularly in areas such as discipline in worship, sense of responsibility, emotional regulation, and ethical language use. These results underscore the crucial role of teachers, parents, and the environment in guiding and directing students to balance digital activities with Islamic values. The study concludes that a contextualized religious education strategy aligned with digital phenomena is essential as both a preventive and curative measure to mitigate the adverse effects of online gaming on students’ character development.

Abstract

This study addresses the overlooked area of motivational tactics employed by parents of Qur’an memorization students (wali santri), despite their critical role in supporting perseverance and memorization success. The research aims to explore the motivational strategies used by parents through the application of Keller’s ARCS Model (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction) and to explain the influence of Islamic values on the development of sustainable spiritual motivation. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study involved nine key informants—including pesantren caretakers, tahfidz instructors, and parents—selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that the four ARCS components assimilate with Qur’anic principles such as sincere intention (niat), reliance on God (tawakkal), consistency (istiqamah), and acceptance (ridha), resulting in motivation that is both psychological and spiritual. The emerging concept of transformational-spiritual motivation combines psychological approaches with religious consciousness, offering new insights into the context of tahfidz education. Theoretically, this study extends the ARCS Model by integrating an affective-transcendental system, while practically, it emphasizes the importance of Qur’an-based mentoring programs to strengthen religious motivation and moral cohesion within tahfidz families.

Abstract

The limited research on the use of microlearning videos as instructional media for qira’ah (Qur’anic reading) forms the basis of this study, given that students’ low qira’ah proficiency significantly affects the quality of their recitation and comprehension—particularly at MDTA Raudhatul Jannah, Nagari Pasia. This study aims to examine the effect of using microlearning videos on improving students' qira’ah skills. A quantitative approach was employed using a Quasi-Experimental Post-Test Only Design with Nonequivalent Groups. The sample consisted of 40 students selected through cluster random sampling after a population homogeneity test was conducted. Data were collected through a written post-test (20 multiple-choice questions) and an oral qira’ah assessment, then analyzed using an Independent Sample t-test. The results showed that the experimental group had a higher average score of 94.35 compared to the control group’s 81.85, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings align with microlearning theory, which emphasizes the effectiveness of delivering content in small, focused units, and support previous findings by Park & Kim in different contexts. The study concludes that microlearning videos play a significant role in enhancing students’ qira’ah ability and are suitable for adoption as a learning strategy in basic religious education institutions. The theoretical implications contribute to the literature on integrating microlearning into Qur’anic instruction, while the practical implications recommend the development of educational video content and teacher training for its effective use. The study also opens avenues for further research on broader implementation, considering supporting factors such as parental involvement and student motivation.

Abstract

Although studies on work ethics and economic enterprise from an Islamic perspective have grown substantially, research focusing on the application of religious values in contemporary economic practice remains relatively limited. This study aims to explore how the teachings of the Qur’an and its interpretations emphasize the importance of sincere intention, justice, and sustainability in economic activities as integral components of worship and social responsibility. A qualitative approach was employed using library research and textual analysis, focusing on the interpretation of key verses such as QS. Al-Jumu‘ah (62): 9–11 and QS. Al-Mulk (67): 15–17. The findings indicate that religious principles significantly influence the formation of economic practices that are not solely profit-driven but are grounded in justice, divine blessing (barakah), and long-term sustainability. These results enrich the theoretical framework of Islamic economics by underscoring that economic activity should be positioned as a form of worship and a contribution to social welfare. The study recommends the integration of faith-based values in the formulation of modern economic policies and opens avenues for further research on concrete and practical strategies to implement religious principles in economic practice.

Abstract

This systematic literature review critically examines the equity and inclusivity implications of exit exams in higher education, synthesizing evidence from 33 studies published between 1994 and 2024. While exit exams aim to standardize academic accountability and ensure graduate competency, their implementation often exacerbates disparities among marginalized student populations, including racial and ethnic minorities, low-income students, and individuals with disabilities. The review employs the PRISMA framework to analyze qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method studies, revealing that high-stakes exit exams frequently induce stress, narrow curricular focus, and disproportionately hinder underrepresented groups. Key findings highlight systemic inequities in exam design, accessibility, and washback effects on pedagogy, with marginalized students facing heightened barriers to success. The study identifies divergent outcomes across demographic groups, underscoring the tension between academic rigor and equitable assessment practices. Thematic analysis emphasizes the need for policy reforms, such as culturally responsive exam design, alternative assessment models, and institutional support mechanisms to mitigate adverse impacts. Recommendations include integrating formative assessments, adaptive testing, and holistic evaluation frameworks to balance accountability with inclusivity. This review contributes to the discourse on educational equity by advocating for systemic changes in exit exam policies and urging stakeholders to prioritize accessibility and fairness. By addressing these challenges, higher education institutions can foster inclusive environments that align assessment practices with the diverse needs of all students, ultimately promoting equitable academic and professional outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and evaluate the "BUDISAH" (Culture and History of the Migration of Prophet Muhammad SAW) website based on Google Sites as a learning media for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) for fourth-grade elementary school students. The research method used is Design and Development (D&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The development process involves analyzing students' needs, designing a user-friendly interface, and integrating multimedia elements such as text, images, animated videos, and interactive quizzes. Implementation was conducted at Gunungsari Elementary School involving 16 fourth-grade students. Evaluation results indicate that this website received positive feedback from content expert validators, media experts, and students. The "BUDISAH" website is considered effective in enhancing students' understanding of the material on the migration of Prophet Muhammad SAW to Medina and in increasing students' interest in learning. However, there are some technical constraints, such as limited supporting devices, that affect the implementation. Overall, this website is deemed suitable for use as an innovative learning media at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study is motivated by social studies learning which is very important in education, but is often hampered by low student interest. This study aims to investigate teachers' innovative strategies in improving students' understanding of Social Studies learning at SD Negeri 1 Cilangkap, given the challenges of low interest and lack of innovation in learning. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis includes reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model increased students' engagement, enthusiasm, and understanding of social studies materials. PjBL also fosters students' social skills such as collaboration, communication, and problem solving. The conclusion of this research is that the innovative strategy of using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model improves students' understanding and shapes students' characters into competent and responsible individuals. The teacher acts as a facilitator, guiding students independently. The findings of this study contribute to the advancement of education in Indonesia, particularly improving the quality of social studies teaching in primary schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning outcomes in social studies lessons and the number of teachers who teach with monotonous learning methods. The purpose is to analyze the effectiveness of the Active Debate method in improving student learning outcomes in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects, especially in the material Appearance of Artificial and Natural Nature. The Active Debate method was chosen for its ability to increase students' active involvement in the learning process, which is expected to deepen their understanding of the material. The research method in this study is qualitative descriptive, data collection without setting from the researcher, by carrying out observations, interviews and documentation in data collection using the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) method approach to analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the application of this method. The results of the study show that the Active Debate method has succeeded in improving learning outcomes and student participation, developing critical thinking skills, and improving students' understanding of the material. The conclusion of this study is that the Active Debate method can be one of the alternatives used by teachers to improve social studies learning outcomes of students as well as develop critical thinking skills, and improve students' understanding of artificial and natural appearance materials in students. This research is expected to have implications for the development of more interactive and effective learning methods in improving student learning outcomes in social studies subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of mindfulness in helping individuals forgive without having to forget traumatic experiences, as well as in reducing rumination related to the past. Although mindfulness has been proven effective in altering negative thinking patterns, understanding of how mindfulness contributes to the acceptance of the past and the management of negative emotions remains limited. This research was conducted at the Darussalam Counseling Center, Blokagung, Banyuwangi, which integrates spiritual-based approaches with mindfulness practices. A qualitative method with a case study design was employed to explore the experiences of individuals participating in mindfulness therapy. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that mindfulness significantly helps individuals reduce the intensity of rumination, enhance self-acceptance, and shift their paradigm of forgiveness. Individuals practicing mindfulness learn to observe thoughts without emotional attachment, accept their imperfections, and release emotional burdens from the past without having to forget traumatic experiences. In conclusion, mindfulness plays an important role in accelerating emotional healing, building psychological well-being, and enhancing the ability to forgive with full awareness. The implication of this study is the need to integrate mindfulness techniques into counseling programs, particularly for individuals with emotional trauma, to help them develop healthier and more sustainable coping mechanisms.
