Abstract

The issue of environmental damage has become a concern of the international community. World leaders come together to find solutions to address the impacts of environmental degradation in different parts of the world. One of the important points to raise public awareness is through education, by teaching environmental education. The purpose of this study is to offer an environmentally friendly Islamic education approach with the Tafsir Maudhu'i approach, in which Islamic education has a role in public awareness to protect the environment and preserve nature. The method used in this research is thematic interpretation or Maudhu'i interpretation. The results of this study reveal that the Qur'an and Hadith have hinted at humans to protect and preserve the environment. Although in the Qur'an the word environment is not explicitly mentioned, the components that make up the environment and their interactions have been explained clearly. The purpose of Islamic education with an environmental perspective with a maudhu'i interpretation approach is to form humans who believe in Allah and the Last Day. The methods that can be used are tadabur, contemplation, and direct practice in the field in preserving the environment as exemplified by the Prophet.

Abstract

The changing times demand the development of the education curriculum. This is because the challenges of life that will be faced are growing. Universities need to adjust the curriculum applied in their respective institutions. This research tries to trace the process of curriculum preparation in one of the study programs of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, namely Islamic Religious Education and how the implementation of the learning process is carried out by each lecturer. This research is a qualitative research with a document and field study approach. The results found that the Islamic Religious Education study program, in designing the curriculum with various approaches, both theological, juridical, philosophical, psychological, and technological. The profile of graduates is clearly illustrated and elaborated by the preparation of a curriculum with a mandatory Semester Credit Unit (SKS) of 135 credits with 57 courses. In practice, the lecturers have used various theories in the learning process, whether nativism, constructivism, behaviorism, empiricism, or convergent with the Islamic values that are in accordance with the ideology of Islamic education which is based on humanism theocentrism.AbstrakPerubahan zaman menuntut pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan. Hal ini dikarenakan tantangan kehidupan yang akan dihadapi semakin berkembang. Karenanya, perguruan tinggi perlu menyesuaikan kurikulum yang diterapkan di lembaganya masing-masing. Penelitian ini mencoba menelusuri proses penyusunan kurikulum di salah program studi Fakultas Agama Islam, yaitu Pendidikan Agama Islam serta bagaimana penerapan proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh setiap dosen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kulitatif dengan pendekatan studi dokumen dan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa program studi PAI, dalam merancang kurikulum dengan berbagai pendektan, baik teologis, yuridis, filosofis, psikologis, dan teknologis. Profil lulusan tergambar dengan jelas dan dijabarkan dengan penyusunan kurikulum dengan Satuan Kredit Semester (SKS) wajib sebanyak 135 SKS dengan 57 mata kuliah. Dalam praktiknya, para dosen telah menggunakan berbagai teori dalam proses pembelajarannya, baik nativisme, konstruktivisme, behaviorisme, empirisme, ataupun konvergen diwarnai dengan nilai-nilai keislaman yang sesuai dengan ideologi pendidikan Islam yang bercorak humanism theocentrisme.

Abstract

Islamic civilization has contributed significantly to the advancement of world science. This statement is revealed from the many Muslim scientists who contributed significantly to various scientific discoveries in every field, which inspired European scientists. In addition, the science developed also has its uniqueness and Islamic characteristics. The number of Muslim scientists and the development of science in the Islamic world raises a question of how science teaching is done in the Islamic world and what kind of science is taught. This research aims to reveal the uniqueness of science teaching applied in the history of Islamic civilization by analyzing the book Muqaddimah by Ibn Khaldun. This research is descriptive qualitative research with a literature review approach. The results found that the uniqueness of science teaching in Islamic civilization is centered on faith in Allah, not denying and involving the role of God in science teaching. The method applied in teaching science is done in stages (at-tadrij), repeating lessons (at-takrir) and developing them with experience and experimentation (at-tajribi). The science teaching strategy applied is establishing an authoritative teacher, understanding the learner's thinking and readiness, emphasizing teaching based on objectives, and simplifying instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Maskoeri Jasin's Basic Natural Science textbook based on the Islamic worldview. The background of this research is the lack of Basic Natural Science textbooks that integrate science concepts with the Islamic worldview. A holistic and integrated understanding of Basic Natural Science, including the influence of Islamic values and worldview, is essential in developing better attitudes and knowledge in students. This research uses a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. The results of this study conclude that the Basic Natural Science textbook by Maskoeri Jasin contains several Islamic worldviews in his book. The Islamic worldview in the book includes the concept of God, science, nature and man. The concepts of the Islamic worldview need to be clarified and reinforced firmly, so further efforts need to be made to improve and strengthen the concepts of the Islamic Worldview in the book. This effort will provide significant benefits in developing scientific understanding based on Islamic principles and fulfilling educational needs that uphold academic and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education in higher education is an urgent need for immediate improvement, especially in the soft skills of graduates. The purpose of this research is to find out an overview of what Ibn Khaldun University of Bogor does in designing principles and strategies for determining the quality standards of graduate competencies in soft skills. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study with data analysis techniques following the concept of Milles and Hubbermen. The results showed that in building graduates' soft skills, Ibn Khaldun University of Bogor based it on a religious foundation, by teaching Islamic studies that must be taken by students for four semesters. Students are equipped with teaching and understanding of aqidah, sharia, morals, and Islamic Worldview. In addition, students are also strengthened spiritually by participating in a mandatory activity, "Bina Baca Al-Qur'an Intensif" to improve their relationship with the Al-Qur'an and also improve the quality of their worship. All activities are monitored directly under the supervision of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Abstract

The unwise utilization of Information and Technology (IT) has resulted in negative impacts within society. This, in turn, gradually contributes to the formation of highly dangerous negative characters that threaten the moral resilience of the nation. The purpose of this paper is to present the concept and implementation of Islamic religious character education as an effort to prevent the negative consequences of the misuse of IT. Through a literature review approach, the authors found that to avoid the adverse effects of unwise IT usage, it is necessary to alter the perspective of learners in line with the Islamic worldview, especially regarding core beliefs in Allah, angels, scriptures, prophets, the Day of Judgment, and predestination. Other essential content that learners should master includes ethical behavior towards Allah, fellow human beings, and oneself. The process of implementing religious character is carried out through ta'dīb and tazkiyatun nafs, involving the stages of takhliyah and taḥliyah. Thus, the objective of this religious character education process is to cultivate learners who are virtuous and wise in their use of IT.

Abstract

Islamic Worldview has an important role in the development of natural science. Science textbooks in Indonesia are often based on Western science paradigms that contradict the Islamic Worldview. This study aims to design an Islamic Worldview-based Basic Natural Science textbook. The study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach involving needs analysis, designing, and developing textbooks. The results of the study found several important points. First, the emphasis on understanding the creation of the universe by Allah S.W.T. Second, the integration of moral and ethical values in the context of science. Third, the introduction of the contribution of Muslim scientists in the history of science. Fourth, the Islamic Worldview perspective in explaining natural phenomena. Fifth, linking science and Islamic faith. Sixth, emphasizing the search for truth through science channels in the Islamic Worldview. Seventh, correcting science concepts that are not in accordance with the Islamic Worldview. This research contributes to the development of science teaching materials that are more in line with Islamic values, so as to improve students' understanding of natural science and strengthen their Islamic identity. Abstrak Worldview Islam memiliki peran penting dalam pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan alam. Buku-buku pelajaran sains di Indonesia sering didasarkan pada paradigma sains Barat yang bertentangan dengan pandangan dunia Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang buku ajar Ilmu Alamiah Dasar berbasis Worldview Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) yang melibatkan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, dan pengembangan buku ajar. Hasil penelitian menemukan beberapa poin penting. Pertama, penekanan pada pemahaman penciptaan alam semesta oleh Allah S.W.T. Kedua, integrasi nilai-nilai moral dan etika dalam konteks sains. Ketiga, pengenalan kontribusi ilmuwan muslim dalam sejarah sains. Keempat, perspektif Worldview Islam dalam menjelaskan fenomena alam. Kelima, mengaitkan antara sains dan akidah Islam. Keenam, penekanan pada pencarian kebenaran melalui saluran ilmu dalam Worldview Islam. Ketujuh, mengoreksi konsep sains yang tidak sesuai dengan Worldview Islam. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan bahan ajar sains yang lebih sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam, sehingga dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap ilmu pengetahuan alam dan memperkuat identitas keislaman mereka.

Abstract

Self-discipline is one of the fundamental characters in education. The elementary school age is a critical age in child education. This research aims to extract the educational concept within Bukhari’s hadeeths as well as analyzing their relevance to the Muhammad Iqbal’s thought. This research employs a qualitative method through quasi experiment and historical literature review. The results showed a significant correlation between the concept of self-discipline education in Bukhari's hadith and the concept of education in Iqbal's thought. The purpose of education according to Iqbal is to form a cognitively, spiritually, and dynamically integrated human being to become the khalifah of Allah on earth. This is in line with the purpose of discipline education in Bukhari's hadith. Educational methods such as exemplary, discussion, appreciation, sanctions, and habituation in Iqbal's thought are also found in Bukhari's hadith. Educational evaluation emphasizes the importance of loyalty to Allah and His Messenger, by upholding justice regardless of time and place. This study concludes that there is a significant relevance between children's discipline education in Bukhari's hadith and Muhammad Iqbal's thought. Abstrak Kedisiplinan adalah salah satu karakter mendasar dalam pendidikan. Usia sekolah dasar adalah usia kritis dalam pendidikan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengekstrak konsep pendidikan yang terkandung dalam hadits-hadits Bukhari serta menganalisa relevansinya dengan pemikiran Muhammad Iqbal. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan kuasi eksperimen serta studi pustaka dan sejarah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi signifikan antara konsep pendidikan disiplin diri anak dalam hadits Bukhari dan konsep pendidikan dalam pemikiran Iqbal. Tujuan pendidikan menurut Iqbal adalah membentuk manusia yang terintegrasi secara kognitif, spiritual, dan dinamis untuk menjadi khalifah Allah di bumi. Ini sejalan dengan tujuan pendidikan disiplin dalam hadits Bukhari. Metode pendidikan seperti keteladanan, diskusi, apresiasi, sanksi, dan pembiasaan dalam pemikiran Iqbal juga ditemukan dalam hadits Bukhari. Evaluasi pendidikan menekankan pentingnya loyalitas kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya, dengan menegakkan keadilan tanpa memandang waktu dan tempat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ada relevansi signifikan antara pendidikan disiplin anak dalam hadits Bukhari dan pemikiran Muhammad Iqbal.

Abstract

The mushofahah habituation program is a very effective method in improving the quality of student manners at MA Al-Hidayah Citaringgul. Mushofahah, which is a tradition of shaking hands while praying for each other, teaches students about the importance of respect, politeness, and fostering harmonious relationships between students and teachers. Through mushofahah, students learn to appreciate the role of teachers as educators and leaders in schools. This study aims to describe and critically analyze the mushofahah program in improving student manners. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used, involving all students and teachers. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. Qualitative descriptive analysis includes four aspects: understanding and perception, participation, impact, and evaluation of the mushofahah program. The results showed that this program had a significant influence in shaping student manners, especially in respectful attitudes and better interactions between students and teachers. Abstrak Program pembiasaan mushofahah merupakan metode yang sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas adab siswa di MA Al-Hidayah Citaringgul. Mushofahah, yaitu tradisi berjabat tangan sambil saling mendoakan, mengajarkan siswa tentang pentingnya rasa hormat, kesopanan, serta membina hubungan yang harmonis antara siswa dan guru. Melalui mushofahah, siswa belajar menghargai peran guru sebagai pendidik dan pemimpin di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis secara kritis program mushofahah dalam meningkatkan adab siswa. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus digunakan, melibatkan seluruh siswa dan guru. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, kuesioner, dan dokumentasi. Analisis deskriptif kualitatif mencakup empat aspek: pemahaman dan persepsi, partisipasi, dampak, serta evaluasi program mushofahah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini memiliki pengaruh signifikan dalam membentuk adab siswa, khususnya dalam sikap hormat dan interaksi yang lebih baik antara siswa dan guru.
