Abstract

Although spiritual approaches in addressing psychological disorders have received increasing attention, studies that comprehensively discuss the theoretical foundations, psychological mechanisms, implementation procedures, and effectiveness of shalat psychotherapy remain limited. This article aims to systematically examine shalat psychotherapy as an integrative therapeutic approach that combines the spiritual dimension of shalat worship with the principles of clinical psychology in addressing various psychological disorders. This study employed a systematic literature review method by tracing sources from the Google Scholar, PubMed, DOAJ, and Garuda databases based on relevant keywords, with coverage of empirical studies during the 2015–2025 period. The review results show that shalat, psychophysiologically, has the potential to reduce sympathetic nervous system activity, increase serotonin and endorphin levels, and stimulate a relaxation response through rhythmic movements and repeated recitations. The mindfulness dimension in shalat, namely khusyu', has also been shown to have a significant correlation with reductions in symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. In addition, preparation for shalat, which includes thaharah, intention, and qibla orientation, collectively forms psychological readiness that supports the therapeutic process. Various studies among Muslim populations in several countries show that shalat-based interventions are consistently effective in reducing symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder, major depression, post-traumatic stress, and addiction. These findings contribute to strengthening contemporary Islamic psychology studies by affirming that shalat is not merely a religious ritual, but a psychotherapeutic modality rich in therapeutic value and with the potential to be integrated into mental health practice.

Abstract

The rapid development of internet technology has had a significant impact on the field of education, particularly in its use as a medium for learning evaluation. One medium that can be used is Wordwall, a website that provides various game templates that can be filled with evaluation questions. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Wordwall as an evaluation medium in Akidah Akhlak learning at MTsN 16 Jombang. This study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The research population consisted of all students of MTsN 16 Jombang, whereas the research sample was the students of class VII-A. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test to test the predetermined hypothesis. The results showed that Wordwall was effectively used as an evaluation medium in Akidah Akhlak learning, as indicated by an increase in the mean pretest score of 68 to a mean posttest score of 89. In addition, the results of the Wilcoxon test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. These findings confirm that Wordwall can be an effective innovation in supporting the evaluation of Akidah Akhlak learning, while also contributing to the more efficient use of educational technology and the reduction of paper use in the evaluation process.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of the regeneration of mosque congregants through increased youth participation, although their involvement in mosque activities in Tamanasri Village has remained relatively low. This study aims to analyze the strategies of religious counselors in encouraging the regeneration of mosque congregants through increased youth participation, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive type and a case study design. Informants were selected purposively and included religious counselors, mosque administrators, youth, and community leaders. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The results showed that the strategy implemented took the form of a communicative approach that was personal and dialogical in nature, but had not been balanced by activity programs relevant to youth. Youth participation remained low and tended to be incidental. Internal factors in the form of low religious awareness, as well as external factors such as busyness and the influence of digital technology, became the main causes of low youth involvement. In addition, the limited number of youth-oriented programs also became an important obstacle. These findings affirm that the regeneration of mosque congregants requires religious counseling strategies that are more innovative, contextual, and participatory so that youth involvement in mosque activities can increase more sustainably.

Abstract

Although the Advance Organizer learning model and mind mapping technique have received attention in several previous studies, research that specifically discusses the integration of these two approaches in improving the mathematical problem-solving ability of PGSD students remains limited. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a mind mapping-based Advance Organizer model on the mathematical problem-solving ability of PGSD students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving 60 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a mathematical problem-solving ability test and observation sheets, and were then analyzed using a t-test. The results showed that the average score of mathematical problem-solving ability in the experimental group (M = 82.45) was higher than that of the control group (M = 72.30). The results of the t-test showed that the calculated t value = 3.87 was greater than the table t value = 2.00 at the 0.05 significance level (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. These findings indicate that the mind mapping-based Advance Organizer model is effective in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. The conclusion of this study affirms the importance of using structured and visual-based learning models to improve higher-order thinking skills, while also providing a theoretical contribution to the development of constructivist learning and a practical contribution to improving the quality of mathematics learning in higher education.

Abstract

The low educational interest among coastal communities remains an important problem in human resource development, particularly in communities with strong ties to fishing traditions and the local social environment. This study aimed to analyze the influence of fishing traditions and the social environment on the educational interest of coastal communities in Sanggaran Tambak Village, Lekok Subdistrict. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research population consisted of coastal communities, with a sample of 100 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-tests, and F-tests. The results showed that fishing traditions had a negative and significant effect on educational interest, whereas the social environment had a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, fishing traditions and the social environment had a significant effect on the educational interest of coastal communities. These findings confirm that the strong orientation of the community toward fishing traditions tends to reduce interest in formal education, while a supportive social environment can increase educational awareness and motivation. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of the role of families, communities, and the government in strengthening educational awareness through educational programs, the provision of facilities, and changes in the mindset of coastal communities regarding the importance of formal education.

Abstract

Conflicts among Grade VII junior high school students, particularly in the form of communication misunderstandings and mutual teasing, remain a problem that can disrupt social relationships and the learning process. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the role model method by Guidance and Counseling (GC) teachers in reducing conflicts among Grade VII students at SMP X Toboali. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed descriptively to describe the exemplary practices of GC teachers in handling student conflicts. The results showed that GC teachers served as role models through polite communication, empathy, and positive conflict resolution. The implementation of the role model method was able to reduce the intensity of conflicts and improve mutual respect among students. The conclusion of this study confirms that the exemplary role of GC teachers is an important strategy in building more positive social behavior in the school environment. The implications of this study indicate the need to strengthen the role of GC teachers as behavioral models in guidance and counseling services to support the creation of a harmonious learning climate.

Abstract

Social media algorithms have transformed the ecology of Islamic preaching by determining visibility, engagement, and audience segmentation across various digital platforms. This article aimed to review the scientific literature on how TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube algorithms shape Islamic broadcasting methods. This study used a qualitative literature review of recent journal articles, books, and proceedings published between 2018 and 2024. The analysis focused on four aspects, namely algorithmic logic and its theoretical foundations, content adaptation strategies by Islamic preachers, dynamics of audience reception and engagement, and ethical implications for Islamic communication. The results of the review show that algorithms encourage the presentation of short, emotional, and visual preaching messages, accelerate the platformization of religion, shift authority from institutional ulama to digital influencers, and generate ethical challenges such as clickbait and the commodification of religion. The conclusion of this review confirms that digital Islamic preaching requires adaptive digital literacy and critical awareness of how algorithms work without abandoning Islamic ethical principles, particularly tabligh, amanah, and hikmah. This review contributes to the development of a conceptual framework for integrating algorithmic critique into Islamic communication studies.

Abstract

Although mathematics learning in elementary schools has been widely developed, conceptual understanding of addition and subtraction among second-grade students remains a common problem, particularly because of students’ low ability to understand the meaning of arithmetic operations and their tendency to memorize without deep conceptual understanding. This study aimed to improve conceptual understanding of addition and subtraction through the use of concrete media among second-grade elementary school students. This study used a quantitative approach with a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were 20 second-grade elementary school students selected purposively. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, student activity observation sheets, and documentation, and were then analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis to examine improvements in learning outcomes in each cycle. The results showed that the use of concrete media, such as real objects, counting blocks, and number cards, was able to improve students’ conceptual understanding of addition and subtraction. This was evident from the increase in students’ average score from 60 in Cycle I to 80 in Cycle II, as well as the increase in learning mastery from 50% to 85%. In addition, students’ activity and participation in learning also increased. These findings confirm that concrete media play an important role in helping students understand mathematical concepts in a more concrete and meaningful way. The conclusion of this study shows that the use of concrete media can serve as an effective and student-centered learning strategy for improving conceptual understanding of addition and subtraction in the lower grades of elementary school.

Abstract

Community religiosity is an important aspect of social life because it reflects the level of understanding, internalization, and practice of religious teachings. In this context, religious counselors have a strategic role in improving community religiosity through various religious guidance activities. This study aimed to analyze the role of religious counselors in improving community religiosity in Sobo Village, Pacitan Regency. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving 10 participants consisting of religious counselors, community leaders, and residents. The results showed that religious counselors played a role in improving community religiosity through worship guidance, enhancement of religious understanding, and strengthening of socio-religious activities. Nevertheless, the level of community religiosity showed variations influenced by internal and external factors. These findings confirm that religious counselors have an important function as facilitators of religious guidance as well as agents of social change in the religious life of the community. The implications of this study indicate the need to strengthen the role of religious counselors in designing more contextual, participatory, and sustainable guidance activities to improve community religiosity.

Abstract

Mathematical connection skills are an important aspect of elementary school mathematics learning because they help students relate mathematical concepts to everyday experiences and situations. However, students’ ability to connect fraction material with real-life contexts still needs to be examined in greater depth, particularly among Grade V students at SD Inpres Pa’Bangiang, Gowa Regency. This study aims to analyze students’ mathematical connection skills in relating the concept of fractions to everyday life. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach involving 30 Grade V students as research subjects. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and documentation, with instruments in the form of essay questions on fraction material containing indicators of mathematical connection skills. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students’ mathematical connection skills were in the moderate category. Some students were able to connect the concept of fractions with everyday activities, such as sharing food, measuring cooking ingredients, and buying and selling transactions. However, difficulties were still found in relating the concept of fractions to other mathematical representations and applying it to more complex contextual situations. Factors influencing this condition included a lack of contextual learning, low understanding of basic fraction concepts, and limited use of learning media. These findings indicate the importance of implementing more innovative, contextual, and real-experience-based learning strategies to improve elementary school students’ mathematical connection skills. The implications of this study provide practical contributions for teachers in designing more meaningful fraction learning and strengthening students’ understanding of the relationship between mathematical concepts and everyday life.
