Abstract

Business development strategies and efforts to improve the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have received attention in various studies, but studies that specifically discuss the development of traditional bakery businesses through the Business Model Canvas approach remain relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the business development strategy of Usaha Roti Ganto in improving competitiveness in Kurao Pagang, Padang City. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of the business owner as the key informant, employees, customers, and other related parties with knowledge of business activities. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results show that all elements of the Business Model Canvas have been applied in the operations of Usaha Roti Ganto, including customer segments, value propositions, channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, key resources, key activities, key partnerships, and cost structure. Business competitiveness is supported by affordable prices, taste quality that aligns with local community preferences, a strategic location, and customer loyalty. However, business development still faces constraints in the form of suboptimal customer segmentation, limited product innovation, low utilization of digital marketing, dependence on a single revenue source, and limited partnership networks. The conclusion of this study affirms that the Business Model Canvas is relevant for use as an analytical framework for the development of traditional bakery MSMEs. The implications of this study provide theoretical contributions to strengthening the literature on MSME business model development, as well as practical implications for business actors in designing more structured and sustainable competitiveness improvement strategies.

Abstract

Good Corporate Governance (GCG) has become an important issue in corporate governance studies, particularly in the Islamic banking industry, but studies that specifically discuss the implementation of GCG and its impact on corporate performance at the branch office level remain relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of GCG and its impact on corporate performance at PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, KCP Syariah Solok. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research participants consisted of leaders and employees directly involved in the implementation of GCG within the company, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results show that PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, KCP Syariah Solok has implemented the principles of GCG, namely transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, and fairness in the company’s operational activities. This implementation is reflected in information disclosure to customers, a clear division of duties and responsibilities, compliance with standard operating procedures and Islamic banking regulations, objective decision-making, and the provision of fair services to customers. The implementation of GCG also has a positive impact on corporate performance, particularly in improving work effectiveness, service quality, operational compliance, strengthening the internal control system, and public trust. The conclusion of this study affirms that GCG is an important factor in supporting improved corporate performance and organizational sustainability. The implications of this study provide theoretical contributions to the development of GCG studies, agency theory, and stakeholder theory in the context of Islamic banking, as well as practical implications for banking management in strengthening human resource competence, internal control systems, and operational supervision.

Abstract

Curriculum planning is a strategic aspect of educational management that determines the direction of graduate competency development in the digital era. Islamic Religious Higher Education institutions are required to integrate Islamic values with developments in science and technology in order to remain relevant to the needs of society and the world of work. This study aims to analyze the curriculum planning model at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan in facing the challenges of digital transformation without neglecting Islamic values. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study. The main informant of the study was the Head of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. The results show that curriculum planning is carried out participatively by involving university leaders, lecturers, students, alumni, graduate users, and quality assurance institutions through needs analysis, discussion forums, workshops, curriculum mapping, and continuous evaluation. The curriculum is designed based on the vision of integrating Islam, science, and technology and accommodates the strengthening of digital literacy, religious moderation, professional competence, and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology. Nevertheless, the implementation of the digital curriculum still faces constraints in the form of limited technological infrastructure, internet bandwidth, and the digital literacy of some lecturers. The conclusion of this study affirms that the success of curriculum planning at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan is determined by the institution’s ability to integrate Islamic values, technological innovation, and continuous evaluation. The implications of this study contribute to the development of a curriculum planning model for Islamic Religious Higher Education that is adaptive to digital transformation and oriented toward producing graduates who are competent, adaptive, and characterized by strong values.

Abstract

Although traditional markets have received attention in various studies, research that specifically discusses the multidimensional role of traditional markets in supporting community economic activities, including distribution, employment, income, fulfillment of needs, and social interaction simultaneously, remains limited. This study aims to analyze the role of Tapen Traditional Market in supporting the economic activities of the community of Tapen Village, Kudu Subdistrict, Jombang Regency. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 22 informants consisting of large and small traders, employees, rice distribution agents, active buyers, the market head, the village head, and parking attendants, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Tapen Market performs five main interrelated roles, namely distributing basic necessities through rice agent networks and the wholesale networks of two large traders, absorbing more than 200 workers, creating daily economic circulation that increases the income of large and small traders, providing basic necessities at affordable prices through a bargaining mechanism, and serving as a space for social interaction that strengthens the cohesion of village residents. The conclusion of this study affirms that social capital and local distribution networks play an important role in maintaining the resilience of traditional markets amid the expansion of modern retail and e-commerce. The implications of this study provide theoretical contributions to the development of economic sociology and people’s economy theory, as well as practical implications for village governments and market managers in designing gradual digitalization and improving market infrastructure.

Abstract

The transformation of education through a deep learning approach requires madrasahs not only to pursue academic achievement but also to strengthen students’ character through meaningful learning experiences. In this context, co-curricular activities serve as a strategic medium for character development; however, their effectiveness depends substantially on the quality of teacher performance management. This study aims to analyze teacher performance management in the implementation of deep learning-based co-curricular activities to strengthen the character dimensions of the graduate profile at MTs Mathalibul Huda Mlonggo. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that teacher performance management was implemented through three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. During implementation, teachers functioned as facilitators, mentors, and learning companions by applying the principles of mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning. Evaluation was conducted through monitoring, supervision, reflection, and continuous improvement. Systematic teacher performance management contributed to strengthening the character dimensions of the graduate profile, particularly religiosity, integrity, responsibility, independence, collaboration, and leadership. The study concludes that deep learning-based co-curricular activities can serve as an effective instrument for character development when supported by structured and high-quality teacher performance management. These findings contribute to the discourse on madrasah-based character education and provide practical implications for improving teacher management practices in co-curricular programs.

Abstract

Economic growth is an important indicator in assessing the success of a country’s development. Although the development of the Islamic capital market and inflation has been widely studied, research that specifically analyzes the effect of the market capitalization of Sharia stocks included in the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) and inflation on Indonesia’s economic growth during the 2021–2024 economic recovery period remains relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of ISSI Sharia stock market capitalization and inflation on Indonesia’s economic growth, both partially and simultaneously. This study used a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The research sample covered all quarterly data for the 2021–2024 period, selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected through documentation from official publications of Statistics Indonesia, Bank Indonesia, the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and the Financial Services Authority, and were then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that ISSI Sharia stock market capitalization had a positive and significant effect on Indonesia’s economic growth, with a significance value of 0.002. Inflation also had a positive and significant effect on economic growth, with a significance value of 0.000. Simultaneously, the two variables had a significant effect on economic growth, with a significance value of 0.000 and an Adjusted R² value of 0.741. These findings strengthen Keynesian Growth Theory, which emphasizes the importance of investment in driving economic growth, and broaden understanding of the role of the Islamic capital market and macroeconomic stability in national development. The conclusion of this study confirms that ISSI Sharia stock market capitalization and inflation are important factors contributing to Indonesia’s economic growth during the economic recovery period. The implications of this study point to the importance of strengthening the Islamic capital market and controlling inflation to support sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Customer satisfaction is an important aspect of culinary business sustainability, especially in facing changes in consumer behavior that are increasingly influenced by the convenience of digital transactions, the attractiveness of spatial design, and promotional strategies. This study aims to examine the effects of electronic payment, design aesthetics, and promotion on customer satisfaction at Tataring Cafe & Resto. This study used a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method. The research sample consisted of 50 respondents selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and then analyzed using multiple linear regression through the t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The results of the study show that electronic payment has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, with a calculated t-value of 4.138 and a significance value of < 0.05. Design aesthetics also had a positive and significant effect, with a calculated t-value of 14.366 and a significance value of < 0.05. In addition, promotion had a positive and significant effect, with a calculated t-value of 3.581 and a significance value of < 0.05. Simultaneously, electronic payment, design aesthetics, and promotion had a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, with a calculated F-value of 264.413 and a significance value of < 0.05. These three variables were able to explain 81.3% of the variation in customer satisfaction at Tataring Cafe & Resto. The conclusion of the study affirms that the convenience of electronic payment, attractive design aesthetics, and effective promotion are important factors in increasing customer satisfaction. The implications of this study provide practical contributions for culinary business managers in designing service, spatial design, and promotional strategies that are more responsive to customer needs.

Abstract

Although accountability and transparency in zakat management have received attention in various studies, research that specifically places muzakki trust in the context of BAZNAS Batang Hari Regency remains limited. This study aims to analyze the influence of accountability and financial management transparency on muzakki trust in paying zakat at BAZNAS Batang Hari Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design, involving 98 muzakki as respondents selected using non-probability sampling based on specific criteria. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and were then analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed that accountability had a positive but non-significant effect on muzakki trust, whereas transparency had a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, accountability and transparency had a positive and significant effect on muzakki trust. These findings confirm that information openness and institutional accountability are important factors in building muzakki trust in zakat management. The implications of this study provide practical contributions for BAZNAS Batang Hari Regency in improving the quality of reporting, public information access, and institutional communication on an ongoing basis to strengthen muzakki trust.

Abstract

Although parent–madrasah collaboration plays a critical role in strengthening character education within Islamic educational contexts, research specifically addressing its managerial model remains limited. This study aims to formulate the STORY Model as a conceptual framework for managing parent–madrasah collaboration in character education. Employing a conceptual literature review design, this study examined purposively selected scholarly works on family–school partnerships, parental involvement, character education, Islamic educational management, and madrasah governance. Data were collected through document-based literature review and analyzed using thematic synthesis. The findings reveal three major patterns of collaboration: educational communication, family participation in madrasah programs, and value reinforcement at home. The analysis also identifies several managerial weaknesses, including administratively oriented communication, reactive parental involvement, unstructured participation, limited reflective monitoring, and unclear character indicators. The study concludes that the STORY Model offers a systematic, participatory, and character-oriented framework for transforming parent–madrasah collaboration into a pedagogical partnership. The contribution of this study lies in advancing conceptual discourse on Islamic educational management and providing a foundation for future empirical validation across diverse madrasah contexts.

Abstract

Although the development of e-commerce has encouraged consumers to increasingly rely on online customer reviews and online customer ratings before making purchases, previous research findings still show inconsistencies regarding the effects of these two variables on purchase decisions, particularly through trust as a mediating variable. This study aims to analyze the effect of online customer reviews and online customer ratings on purchase decisions, with trust as a mediating variable among Shopee users in Semarang City. This study used a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 100 respondents who had made purchases through Shopee. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the assistance of SmartPLS. The results showed that online customer reviews had no significant effect on trust but had a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. Conversely, online customer ratings had a positive and significant effect on trust but had no direct effect on purchase decisions. In addition, trust had a positive effect on purchase decisions and was unable to mediate the effect of online customer reviews on purchase decisions, but was able to mediate the effect of online customer ratings on purchase decisions. The conclusion of this study confirms that Shopee users’ purchase decisions in Semarang City are more directly influenced by the quality of customer reviews, whereas ratings play a role in building trust, which subsequently encourages purchase decisions. These findings provide practical implications for platform managers and online business actors to enhance the credibility of reviews and strengthen rating mechanisms as a basis for building consumer trust.
