Abstract

This research examines the utilization of YouTube as a medium for da'wah by Habib Husein Ja'far Al Hadar, who manages to deliver religious messages with an approach relevant to modern audiences, especially the younger generation. Through the case study method and qualitative approach, this research observes how Habib Jafar utilizes YouTube's interactive features to build active engagement, such as through comments and question and answer sessions. Habib Jafar's preaching is not only informative but also contextualized, where he connects Islamic teachings to relevant social issues such as tolerance, social justice, and peace. This innovation, through visual illustrations and graphic effects, makes the da'wah content more interesting and easy to understand. The results showed that Habib Jafar's approach received a positive response from the audience. Most of the comments contain appreciation, questions, and sharing of personal experiences, creating an active dialog space among the audience. This indicates that da'wah through YouTube allows da'wah to be flexible, reach audiences without time or place restrictions, and create a closer emotional connection with audiences. In conclusion, social media, especially YouTube, has proven to be an effective and inclusive da'wah platform in the digital era. It not only expands the reach of da'wah but also increases the closeness and engagement between preachers and audiences, making it a relevant da'wah solution in the midst of rapid social change.

Abstract

The implementation of the blue economy concept as a sustainable development strategy extends not only to the industrial sector but also to Islamic education. Ma’had Al-Zaytun has become one of the pioneers by transforming the ideological ideas of Syaykh Al-Zaytun about the blue economy into a concrete program called “Samudra Biru”, a shipbuilding and marine training project for students. This research aims to examine how the discourse is constructed and received by students and alumni, and how their perspectives are shaped in the context of Islamic education and spirituality. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach of T.A. Van Dijk and Joel M. Charon's Symbolic Interactionism theory. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies involving active students and alumni in the maritime field. The results show that the blue economy program at Ma’had Al-Zaytun is a manifestation of discourse transformed into real action, socially accepted through texts, symbols, experiences, and interactions. The discourse not only instills ideology but also fosters ecological awareness and professionalism. Van Dijk’s analysis highlights the role of discourse in shaping collective ideology, while Charon’s theory reveals that the meaning and values of the blue economy are interpreted as responsibility, sustainability, and worship by students and alumni.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of Tazkiyatun Nafs as a spiritual framework within Islamic counseling for addressing mild to moderate mental health disorders. Adopting a descriptive qualitative design, data were obtained through in-depth interviews and an extensive literature review, then analyzed using thematic content analysis. The findings reveal that the sequential stages of Takhalli, Tahalli, and Tajalli substantially facilitate participants’ emotional regulation, self-reflection, and spiritual awareness. These outcomes contribute to the theoretical advancement of Sufi-oriented Islamic counseling and highlight the potential for integrating this approach into Islamic psychological education and therapeutic practice. The study recommends the development of counselor training programs based on Tazkiyah principles and further empirical investigation involving broader populations and diversified methodologies to enhance the model’s validity and applicability.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a key catalyst in enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. Alongside technological advancement, digital platforms serve not only as tools for increasing revenue but also as effective media for Islamic da'wah by embedding religious values within business practices. This study aims to analyze digital platform optimization strategies that support MSME economic growth while exploring the integration of Islamic da'wah values within the context of business digitalization. A qualitative approach was employed using a systematic literature review of 45 academic publications and official reports published between 2020 and 2024. The findings indicate that 88.37% of MSMEs that adopted digital platforms experienced increased revenue, with 66.28% reporting gains of up to 50%. The most widely used platforms include Shopee (50%), Facebook Marketplace (33.46%), and Instagram Shop (28.74%). Identified optimization strategies include dynamic pricing, personalized services driven by artificial intelligence, integration of digital payment systems, and the use of data analytics. Additionally, embedding da'wah content—such as product narratives emphasizing honesty, blessings (barakah), and social responsibility—contributes to building an ethical and trustworthy business image. Key challenges include low levels of digital literacy, infrastructure disparities, and limited promotional resources. This study contributes theoretically by formulating a conceptual framework for platform optimization rooted in Islamic values and offers practical recommendations for MSME actors and policymakers to develop a competitive and ethical digital ecosystem.

Abstract

his study uses a qualitative research method with the theory of Da'wah Strategy which classifies into three forms of da'wah communication strategies, namely: 1) Rational Strategy, 2) Sensory Strategy, 3) Sentimental Strategy. The focus of this study is on da'wah communication strategies and supporting and inhibiting factors. From the results of the analysis of each da'wah video made by the TikTok account "Qur'an GPT", the researcher got the results, 1) Of the 141 da'wah videos made by the TikTok account "Qur'an GPT" using three forms of da'wah communication strategies, there are 80 videos with the application of Rational Strategy, 9 videos with the application of Sensory Strategy, and 52 videos with the application of Sentimental Strategy. 2) Factors that support and inhibit the da'wah activities carried out by the TikTok account "Qur'an GPT" on social media, both in terms of the da'wah communication strategy used such as the characteristics of the TikTok account "Qur'an GPT" which is a combination of the Qur'an and Artificial Intelligence, as well as from the selection of TikTok social media, so that it can be known what the problems or obstacles are and solutions can be found to these problems.

Abstract

Students often encounter various obstacles when achieving their best quality, one of which is academic procrastination behavior. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of self-management techniques in reducing academic procrastination among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Tinambung. Academic procrastination is recognized as a major barrier to student achievement, characterized by habitual delays in task completion. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. The participants consisted of 30 students identified as having high levels of academic procrastination. The findings revealed a significant reduction in procrastination behavior following the group counseling sessions incorporating self-management techniques. These results confirm that self-management is an effective approach to enhancing students' time management and academic responsibili. .

Abstract

This study examines the role of YouTube as a medium for digital da’wah in preventing drug abuse among adolescents. It aims to describe the dangers of drugs, identifies effective prevention strategies, and assesses the contribution of digital da’wah content to youth awareness. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature review and content analysis of 12 YouTube videos consistently addressing anti-drug themes. Primary data were obtained from observations of video titles, view counts, durations, and audience interactions, while secondary data were drawn from journals, official BNN (National Narcotics Agency) reports, and relevant literature. The analysis reveals that anti-drug da’wah content combining religious and educational approaches is more effective in attracting adolescents’ attention and encouraging positive responses including intentions to avoid drugs rather than normative preaching. Three dominant strategies identified are persuasive and educational da’wah, collaborative da’wah (featuring interfaith and institutional dialogues such as with the BNN), and creative da’wah through interesting animations and visuals. However, its effectiveness is limited by competition with entertainment content, issues of credibility, and disparities in digital access and literacy. The study recommends strengthening cross-sector collaboration, improving content quality and validity, involving families and educational institutions in anti-drug campaigns, and innovating content formats to make them more appealing to adolescents. These findings support the use of YouTube as an integral part of a holistic strategy for drug abuse prevention.

Abstract

The era of digital disruption demands a reformulation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) policy in order to respond to the challenges of globalization of values and technological developments. This article aims to analyze the new direction of PAI policy through the integration of digitalization and religious moderation. The method used is a literature review (LR) with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained from 30 scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025 through Google Scholar and Publish or Perish (PoP), which were selected into 5 relevant main articles. The results of the study show that digitalization plays a strategic role in expanding access to inclusive and interactive religious learning, while religious moderation acts as a filter of values to maintain spiritual and moral balance amid the rapid flow of information. The integration of the two gives rise to a new paradigm of PAI policy that is oriented towards values, technology, and humanism. This policy requires the strengthening of a moderate digital-based curriculum, the improvement of religious digital literacy competencies for teachers, and educational governance that is responsive to the challenges of cyber radicalism. Thus, the new direction of PAI policy needs to be directed towards the synergy between digital transformation and the internalization of Islamic wasathiyah values in order to shape a generation of Muslims who are digitally literate, moderate in character, and globally competitiv.

Abstract

The general election or election is one of the important and historic moments that many people are waiting for. It is even sometimes in the spotlight of the international world. In 2024, Indonesia has successfully held direct elections. So it can be said that Indonesia is a Muslim country in the world that is able to implement modern democratic values or systems. In fact, elections are an important part of the democratization process in Indonesia. So this moment becomes a medium for da'wah and political communication both conceptually and ideologically. That in the election there will be a communication process both directly and indirectly from the candidates to be able to attract the sympathy of the people. Thus the flow of communication runs carefully. This means that in the democratic process, a model of da'wah or political communication emerges that will be consciously or not accepted by the community. Thus, the public will know how ideological the candidates are to be able to meet the expectations of the community. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method, using the approach of political science and da'wah science. Political da'wah is an important part that cannot be let go in elections. Political da'wah becomes a barometer and persuasive communication to get sympathy from the people and this is what then becomes very important in the election process. So that in the process, the Prabowo-Gibran pair was finally able to win the presidential election directly in 2024.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital media and artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the way people live and interact in modern society. Nevertheless, the human need for religion as a source of moral and spiritual guidance remains unchanged. This study aims to analyze the conceptual framework of the relationship between religion, society, and media in the era of artificial intelligence through a literature review approach. Data were collected from relevant sources, including academic journals, books, and scholarly articles, and analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method.The results indicate that religion functions as a spiritual and moral compass in guiding the ethical use of media and AI technologies, ensuring that technological progress aligns with values of justice, humanity, and the common good. Meanwhile, media and AI serve as instruments for disseminating religious values and spiritual education, while society acts as the primary agent that interprets and implements these teachings in the digital sphere. Thus, religion, society, and media constitute three interrelated pillars of modern civilization that cannot be separated, even as the world continues to evolve.
