Abstract

Digital platforms are not only remodeling the way we interact but also offer new opportunities to build strong social cohesion. Analyzing various case studies and digital initiatives reveals how digital tools can expand social networks, deepen community participation, and instill constructive civic values. Through an exploration of innovative strategies and best practices, this article presents a practical guide to harnessing the power of digital platforms to create a more connected, engaged, and responsible society, thus making good citizens. The findings provide new perspectives on how technology can strengthen social fabric and advance quality citizenship in an increasingly connected world. This research aims to analyze the role of digital platforms in improving social cohesion by assessing the potential and challenges posed by using digital platforms such as social media, community apps, and online forums. Based on a survey of 50 respondents from campus and civilian populations, most people believe that digital platforms have great potential to strengthen relationships between individuals, expand social interactions, and increase solidarity within communities. However, the main challenges identified were social polarisation, the spread of misinformation, and the technology access gap that still exists in some communities. The findings emphasize the importance of thoughtful moderation policies, digital literacy education, and efforts to reduce social divides to maximize the positive potential of digital platforms. With the right approach, digital platforms can build a more inclusive and harmonious social society, which supports social cohesion among individuals and groups. This research provides important insights for policymakers and society on how to utilize digital technologies positively and constructively.

Abstract

Basalwir is a tradition of cooperation of the Sula tribe in every celebration event, whether it is a wedding, circumcision, tasyakuran departure of Hajj, or Italian, to foster the social care character of the community. This research aims to describe the efforts of the people of Dofa Village, West Mangoli District, Sula Islands Regency, North Maluku Province, in preserving the Basalwir tradition as an effort to strengthen the social care character of citizens. This research is qualitative research with an ethnographic study method. The results illustrate that most of the Dofa community still preserves the Basalwir tradition, but its existence is starting to be threatened by changes in people's behavior that follow modern lifestyles. The values contained in Basalwir are togetherness, unity, and responsibility, which can shape citizens' social care character and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood of the Dofa village community. Supporting factors for the preservation of the Basalwir tradition because: a) the support and commitment of the community in maintaining the Basalwir tradition, and b) the enactment of customary laws that residents still uphold. The inhibiting factor in preserving the Basalwir tradition is the need for greater public awareness of its values and meanings as local community wisdom.

Abstract

This study seeks to explore the significance of Huyula as a form of social capital that contributes to enhancing solidarity, social cohesion, and cultural identity among the residents of Polohungo Village. It also aims to identify the challenges faced in preserving these values amidst social change and modernization. The research employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews with community leaders and the younger generation, participatory observation in communal work activities, and documentation of social events in the village. The findings reveal that the values of Huyula remain vibrant and serve as a crucial foundation for fostering unity, altruistic mutual assistance, and informal conflict resolution grounded in cultural norms. Indigenous leaders, religious figures, and village women play a pivotal role in upholding and transmitting these values. However, the advent of digital technology, shifts in the lifestyle of the younger generation, and the rise of individualism pose significant threats to the continuity of Huyula's values. Innovations by the younger generation, using social media as a platform for documenting and promoting cooperative activities, present opportunities for a dynamic and adaptive cultural revitalization. Based on these insights, the research suggests the formal integration of Huyula values into village policies, the enhancement of community empowerment programs rooted in local wisdom, and the regular organization of cultural festivals as efforts to sustain the presence and relevance of Huyula values within the framework of sustainable social development

This study was conducted to examine the extent of the relationshipbetween organizational culture and employee engagement in employeesat UD. Sehat Indah Gorontalo by using a quantitative approach through thecorrelational method. All employees totaling 60 people were used as aresearch sample using the total sampling technique. Data analysis wascarried out through normality tests, linearity tests, and Pearson ProductMoment correlation with the help of SPSS software version 20. The resultsshowed that there was a positive and significant relationship betweenorganizational culture and employee engagement with a correlationcoefficient value of 0.419 at a significance level of p equal to 0.000 whichis smaller than 0.05. These findings confirm that the quality oforganizational culture makes a real contribution to employee engagementlevels. The novelty of this research lies in the disclosure of the strength ofthe relationship between organizational culture and employeeengagement in the context of local medium-sized business organizationswhich has been limited to empirical research. In addition, the results ofthe categorization showed that as many as eight employees or around 13.1percent were in the medium category in the perception of organizationalculture. These findings show that there is a gap in the internalization oforganizational culture among employees. This condition has an impact onthe overall decline in the level of employee engagement, where theemployee engagement rate that was originally expected to reach onehundred percent decreased to 86.9 percent. These findings provide a newunderstanding that differences in perceptions of organizational culture, albeit in relatively small proportions, can affect the achievement ofcollective work engagement. Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has rendered gadgets anintegral component of students' lives. However, the unregulated use ofthese devices may adversely affect the quality of the teaching and learningprocess (PBM). This study seeks to examine the relationship betweengadget usage and students' learning concentration and discipline atMadrasah Aliyah Kabar, East Lombok. Employing a quantitative designwith a survey approach, complemented by classroom observation, theresearch involved a sample of 70 students selected through purposivesampling. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scalequestionnaire and student learning behavior observation sheets. The datawere analyzed utilizing descriptive statistics and Pearson correlationtests. The findings revealed a significant negative correlation betweengadget use, predominantly for non-educational activities such as socialmedia and digital games, and student learning concentration (r = −0.45; p= 0.001) as well as student discipline (r = −0.38; p = 0.032). This impact isevidenced by reduced attention spans, increased distractions fromnotifications, violations of electronic device usage rules in the classroom, and delays in assignment submission. These results suggest that excessivegadget use can diminish the effectiveness of PBM and have implicationsfor student learning outcomes. Consequently, it is necessary to implementpolicies restricting gadget use within the school environment, enhancedigital literacy and time management among students, and integratetechnology judiciously to support productive learning.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine educational management practices in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum (Independent Curriculum) at the junior high school level in Luwuk District, Banggai Regency. 21st-century education demands a fundamental transformation in school governance, where educational management must be not only administrative but also transformative. Using a qualitative approach and survey method, this study collected data through open questionnaires, field observations, and in-depth interviews with purposively selected school principals, teachers, and education personnel. The findings reveal that the success of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation is strongly influenced by three key dimensions: visionary and adaptive school leadership, teacher involvement in lesson planning and evaluation, and active community participation in school activities. However, the study also identifies several major challenges, including inadequate teacher training, high administrative burdens, limited digital literacy, lack of learning infrastructure, and weak external partnerships. Overall, this research affirms that the effectiveness of the Merdeka Curriculum is largely determined by the readiness of human resources and the quality of school management. The results of this study are expected to serve as a foundation for formulating contextual, sustainable, and learner-centered management strategies.

Abstract

The issue of climate change necessitates active state participation inmitigating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the adoption ofequitable and sustainable policies. This study seeks to examine thenature of state responsibility in climate change mitigation inIndonesia, with a particular focus on the implementation of CarbonEconomic Value (NEK) as delineated in Presidential Regulation No.98 of 2021. This research constitutes a prescriptive normative legalstudy, employing a legislative approach. The findings indicate thatthe regulatory framework for Carbon Economic Value (NEK)provides a foundational structure for NEK as an environmentaleconomic instrument to facilitate the attainment of NationallyDetermined Contributions (NDCs) through various mechanisms.Nonetheless, this framework exhibits several deficiencies, includingthe legal status of carbon units, the mechanism for stateaccountability, and inadequate protection for indigenous peoplesand local communities. Consequently, the researchers advocate forthe government to fortify the legal foundation of NEC by formulatingmore detailed and integrated technical regulations and, in the longterm, to consider the development of specific legislation on carboneconomic value. These measures are anticipated to enhance theefficacy of NEC, ensure legal certainty, and achieve ecological justicefor both present and future generations.
