Abstract

This study discusses the effectiveness of complementary therapies in reducing anxiety in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing hemodialysis (HD). Through a systematic review of 32 out of 6,711 articles obtained from various databases (2015–2025), it was found that therapies such as Benson relaxation, lavender aromatherapy, music therapy, acupressure, guided imagery, spiritual interventions (dhikr and reading the Qur'an), as well as technologies like Virtual Reality (VR) and brain stimulation (tDCS), are effective in reducing anxiety. These therapies encompass physical, psychological, spiritual, and technological aspects. Although promising, further research is needed to support their clinical implementation.

Abstract

Malaria remains a serious threat to Pamtas Task Force personnel on the Papuan border. This study evaluates the effectiveness of biosecurity strategies by the TNI Health Center using mixed methods. The results showed that the application of insecticide mosquito nets, uniform with pemethran, and prophylactic drugs reduced malaria cases by 25%. However, the main challenges include logistical constraints and vector resistance to insecticides. Regression analysis showed key risk factors including environment, mobility, and adherence to prophylaxis. The study recommends improving logistics, training, and the use of real-time monitoring technology. Collaboration with communities and external partners is considered important to strengthen biosecurity protocols and support the malaria elimination target by 2030.

Abstract

This study aims to see the contribution of the health and welfare domain in realizing the Youth Development Index in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a type of literature study research. The data sources used are secondary data sources consisting of reference books, journals, articles, and related documents tracked from the Yogyakarta Education, Youth, and Sports Office and the internet. Data validation or data validity test in this study uses source triangulation techniques. Source triangulation to test the credibility of a data is carried out by checking the data that has been obtained from various data sources. Data analysis uses qualitative analysis. The results of the study show that the low value of IPPs in the health and welfare domain in Yogyakarta is caused by the lack of health education, limited access to mental health services, permissive social norms for risky behavior, and peer influence are the main challenges and also limited resources in implementing policies, especially in suburban areas. Evaluation of government policies and programs such as health campaigns, training, and socialization programs has not been fully effective, especially in changing social norms and behaviors among adolescents.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a hypertensive disorder with elevated blood pressure and proteinuria after 20 weeks of gestation, often involving an exaggerated inflammatory response. This study examined the relationship between the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (RNL) and preeclampsia. A retrospective analytic study with a cross-sectional approach analyzed medical records of 106 inpatients at Zainoel Abidin Hospital Banda Aceh from January to December 2020. Most patients were aged 20-35 years (64.2%), college-educated (38.8%), housewives (68.9%), and multiparas (62%). RNL analysis showed 8.6% normal and 91.4% abnormal in severe preeclampsia cases. The Spearman correlation test showed p=0.367 (p>0.05), indicating no significant relationship between RNL and preeclampsia. The mean RNL was 6.5267 in preeclampsia and 8.3106 in severe cases, both exceeding the normal cut-off of 4.8. There was no relationship between RNL and preeclampsia, but the mean RNL values were above normal.

Abstract

The legal force of electronic evidence in criminal proof in Indonesia, recognized through the ITE Law but creating interpretive challenges due to disharmony with the KUHAP. Although the UU ITE expands the definition of evidence, authentication and collection validity requirements are not yet unified. The Constitutional Court decision and the amendment to the ITE Law provide clarification, particularly regarding wiretapping. In the context of medical criminal cases in hospitals, electronic medical records (EMR) are important but are hampered by the limitations of the KUHAP. Legal uncertainty regarding the submission, verification, and assessment of electronic evidence in medical criminal cases highlights the urgency of revising the KUHAP to comprehensively accommodate electronic evidence for the sake of legal certainty and justice.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that is still a public health problem in Central Papua, especially in Sinak District, Puncak Regency. This study aims to analyze the influence of internal and external factors that affect the effectiveness of TB prevention programs, and propose strategies to be implemented to improve the success of TB treatment. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis using the SWOT method, then presented thematically. The results found that internally, limited human resources, limited facilities, and weak management systems were the main obstacles to the program. Externally, extreme and isolated geographical conditions, security disturbances from KKB, and lack of external support are the main challenges. Existing strategies have not optimally addressed the complexity of these obstacles. Therefore, increasing the quantity and quality of health workers, community-based approaches and cross-sectoral support are needed to improve the effectiveness of TB prevention programs specifically in Sinak District.

Abstract

Understanding how nursing students learn and respond to ethical principles in healthcare helps reveal how well they are being prepared for real-life clinical decisions. Responses were gathered through an online survey completed over a three-week period involving 72 nursing students enrolled in the course Bioethics. The results show that nursing students possess a strong understanding of bioethical principles, hold a generally positive attitude, and recognize the real-life relevance of ethics in nursing practice. These findings suggest that integrating bioethics into the curriculum effectively supports the development of ethical awareness and decision-making among future healthcare professionals. The results underscore the importance of strengthening ethics education to ensure that nursing students are equipped to respond ethically and responsibly in diverse clinical settings.

Abstract

Acute ischemic stroke is the most common stroke type, with inflammation and thrombosis playing key roles. The platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) has been proposed as a potential prognostic biomarker. To evaluate the association between PLR and neurological deficits or functional outcomes in acute ischemic stroke. A systematic review was conducted using multiple databases. Study quality was assessed with the NewcastleOttawa Scale (NOS), and outcomes were evaluated using NIHSS, mRS, and SSS. Ten studies were included, mostly from Asia. Elevated PLR was significantly associated with poor outcomes, especially in Chinese studies and those with NIHSS
