Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the attractiveness of Batak culture on the level of tourist visits in Samosir Regency. This research data is in the form of primary and secondary data. The sampling process in this research used purposive sampling with a sample size of 80. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression tests. It can be concluded that the attractiveness of Batak culture influences the level of tourist visits in Samosir Regency. This can be seen from the value of the Simultaneous Test (T Test) which is used to determine the percentage influence of the independent variable (X) on the dependent variable (Y). The results obtained show that the Fcount value is 6.681. Meanwhile, Ftable is 2.495, so Fcount is greater than Ftable (6.681> 2.495) or a significant level of 0.000 or sig F <5% (0.000<0.05). This means that together the Attraction variable influences the level of visits (Y) of cultural tourism in Samosir Regency. So in this case, cultural tourism destinations have the potential to be developed into tourist attractions so that they can increase the level of local and foreign tourist visits.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the role of traditional cart taxis in supporting tourism accessibility in Ijen Crater. Cart taxis as a local community-based transportation mode have a significant contribution in addressing geographical challenges and limited formal infrastructure in natural tourism areas. Through a qualitative descriptive approach based on observation, documentation, and literature studies, it was found that traditional cart taxis not only function as a means of transportation, but also as social and economic agents that strengthen community involvement in the tourism industry. Traditional taxi activities also provide alternative livelihoods, create authentic interactions with tourists, and support the microeconomic ecosystem at the local level. However, traditional taxi drivers face serious challenges such as income uncertainty, unclear legal status, and minimal policy support. This study recommends the importance of integrating traditional cart taxis into an inclusive, participatory, and sustainable tourism management system.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the natural landscape of Banyuwangi as experienced on the journey to Ijen Crater. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study records the physical, ecological, social, and emotional transformation of the landscape through direct observation, visual documentation, and reflective narratives. Ijen Crater as a natural tourism destination not only presents geological phenomena such as blue fire and acid lakes, but also represents a mosaic of landscapes that include agricultural zones, montane forests, community activities, and tourism dynamics. The findings show that the journey to Ijen Crater shows the complexity of landscape elements, the involvement of local communities in managing the space, and the appreciation of tourists that form personal and spiritual meanings. The conclusion of this study is that the journey is not just a physical movement, but a means to understand the relationship between humans and living nature. The implications of this study underline the importance of participatory and sustainable landscape-based ecotourism management.

Abstract

Tourism is currently a rapidly growing sector, particularly in line with social change and technological advancements. In this context, ecotourism is becoming an increasingly popular approach because it prioritizes the principles of environmental sustainability, local cultural preservation, and improving community welfare. One innovative form of ecotourism is the development of agroforestry-based tourism, which integrates environmentally friendly agricultural and forestry practices. One concrete example of this concept is the Dawuhan Kopi area in Semarang Regency. This area has developed a coffee forest farming system as a primary tourist attraction, aiming to combine nature conservation and community economic development. This study aims to comprehensively examine how coffee agroforestry management in Dawuhan Kopi is implemented as a form of ecotourism and to analyze various optimization efforts that have been and are being implemented. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques such as field observations, in-depth interviews with stakeholders, and documentation. The results reveal that the management of the coffee agroforestry area in Dawuhan Kopi still faces various challenges, particularly in terms of institutional framework, tourism product packaging, availability of supporting facilities, and local community empowerment. To address these issues, a comprehensive improvement strategy is needed, ranging from strengthening institutional capacity, innovation in tourism packages, developing basic infrastructure, and increasing active community participation in every management process. This research is expected to make a positive contribution to the development of a sustainable agroforestry-based ecotourism model and serve as a reference for other regions with similar potential to implement the same concept adaptively and contextually.

Abstract

This study examines community participation in the development of cultural tourism in Kampung Batik Laweyan, Solo, as well as the factors that support and hinder such involvement. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation methods. The informants in this study include batik business actors, local community administrators, community leaders, government representatives, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in the field of cultural preservation and tourism. The results of the study show that community participation is divided into three main dimensions, namely economic, socio-cultural, and institutional. In the economic aspect, the community is involved through batik businesses, homestays, and tourism services. In the socio-cultural aspect, involvement can be seen from the preservation of local traditions and the implementation of cultural activities. Meanwhile, in the institutional aspect, participation can be seen from the active role of residents in decision-making forums related to tourism management. Factors driving participation include collective awareness of the importance of cultural preservation, the economic potential of the tourism sector, and support from the government, NGOs, and educational institutions. However, community participation still faces several obstacles such as lack of education on the concept of sustainable tourism, limited access to capital, and lack of coordination between interested institutions. Cross-sectoral collaboration efforts are needed between the community, government, the private sector, and educational institutions in realizing inclusive and sustainable cultural tourism management. Thus, Laweyan Batik Village can become a model for the development of cultural tourism destinations based on active community participation. The implications of these findings suggest that cultural tourism development policies should not only focus on increasing the number of tourist visits, but also on strengthening the capacity of local communities as key actors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze sustainable tourism development strategies in Simamora Tourism Village, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. This village has significant potential in the natural and cultural tourism sector, such as Sisingamangaraja Palace, Aek Silang whitewater rafting, and Batu Nganga. However, the management of this potential has not been optimally implemented. Several challenges remain, such as low community participation, limited infrastructure, and residents' limited understanding of the concept of sustainable tourism. This study used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and field observations. Informants in the study included village officials, local communities, and managers of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). The data obtained were analyzed using the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) approach to identify strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and expected outcomes in sustainable tourism development. The results show that although the tourism potential in Simamora Village is quite high, the lack of coordination between stakeholders and the absence of an integrated development strategy are the main obstacles. Therefore, this study recommends several strategic steps, including improving the quality of human resources in the tourism sector, strengthening supporting infrastructure, and developing tourism products based on local wisdom that can foster active community involvement. Community participation in every stage of planning and management is crucial for achieving sustainable and competitive tourism. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference in formulating policies for sustainable village tourism development.

Abstract

Accessible tourism has become an increasingly urgent need as awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities, the elderly, and other travelers with special needs grows. Although Indonesia, particularly Bali, has enormous potential as a tourism destination, implementing inclusive principles in travel services still faces numerous challenges. This study aims to design a tailor-made travel package based on accessible tourism as a destination management company innovation to address accessibility issues and realize inclusive tourism in Bali. This research applied a qualitative descriptive method using a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with tourism stakeholders, including destination management companies, travelers with special needs, and local partners, as well as field documentation. The research was conducted in Bali as the tourist destination region and the Netherlands as the traveler-generating region, with a focus on the destination company management, Jewel Indonesia Tour and Travel. Findings show that destination management companies still face challenges such as inaccessible infrastructure, limited staff knowledge, and a lack of understanding of universal design concepts. However, there are significant opportunities through niche market demands, national regulatory support, and collaboration with disability communities and international partners. The developed travel package includes inclusive accommodations, disability-friendly activities, accessible transportation, and digital information adapted to user needs. This research significantly contributes to the existing literature gap regarding the role of destination management companies in accessible tourism. Furthermore, the designed model is expected to serve as a best practice framework for developing inclusive tourism products in other destinations across Indonesia. The study concludes that a customer-centered approach, cross-sector collaboration, and sustainable innovation are crucial in building an equitable tourism ecosystem. It is recommended that tourism stakeholders enhance accessibility education and integrate universal design principles into all tourism services.

Abstract

Coolcations tourism is an alternative tourism that utilizes the potential of nature with cool air, both in the morning, afternoon, and evening, thus providing a refreshing holiday experience for tourists. This concept combines recreational activities with the beauty and coolness of nature, making it suitable for tourists who want to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life. Based on the author's observations, Kuningan Regency has great potential in developing coolcations destinations, which include various activities such as camping/glamping, sightseeing, forest bathing, wellness tourism, star bathing, night time wellness, hiking, trekking, jeep adventure, motocross, and cycling. This study aims to determine the figure of tourist interest, especially those from Cirebon City and Regency, towards the trend of coolcations tourism in Kuningan Regency. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a purposive sampling technique. The research sample amounted to 100 respondents who were tourists from Cirebon City/Regency. The research instrument used an online questionnaire via Google Form. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis techniques with the application of the Guttman Scale to measure the level of respondent interest. The research results indicate that tourist interest in the coolcation trend in Kuningan Regency is high. The average "YES" response was 84.75 out of 100, which, when converted to a percentage, is 84.75%. Based on the assessment criteria, this result falls into the "good interest" category with a high criterion (75%–100%). This finding indicates that tourists from Cirebon City/Regency have significant interest in coolcation tourism activities in Kuningan Regency. With its supportive natural resources and high interest, Kuningan Regency has a significant opportunity to develop coolcations as a leading regional tourism attraction.
