Abstract

Amidst the rapid development of tourism in Indonesia, cultural village tourism has become increasingly prominent. These villages not only serve as attractive tourist destinations but also as centers for sustainable economic and cultural activities. Abstract

Tourism Village is a program used to explore the potential of villages that are managed as tourist attractions. Local communities in the community-based tourism concept have the awareness to actively participate in tourism development in their region through cultural, social and environmental sustainability. The keywords attached to the concept of community-based tourism are community empowerment and community participation. The aim of this research is to identify challenges in developing Community Based Tourism in the Denai Lama tourist village, Pantai Labu, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach using SWOT analysis to determine the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities that exist in the Denai Lama Tourism Village. The type of data used is primary data through interviews with sources and secondary data obtained indirectly. Denai Lama Village or better known as Kampoeng Lama Tourism Village is one of the villages that is considered to have a lot of potential for development. The Kampoeng Lama tourist village has 3 tourist spots, namely Sanggar Circle, Paloh Naga Agrotourism, and Kamu Kawan Lama Market. The first challenge in developing community-based tourism is to unite community perceptions so that people are aware of tourism, understand and actualize Sapta Pesona. Then tourism training for the community has not been maximized in the field of digital marketing because human resources in this field still do not have the capacity to promote tourism.

The purpose of this study is to develop various strategies to answer these needs both in increasing the number of entrepreneurs and workers in accordance with the needs of the business world, the industrial world and the world of work, especially in the tourism sector. This study uses a qualitative research approach where qualitative research as a scientific method is often used and implemented by a group of researchers in the field of social sciences, including education. The results obtained after conducting research in two interview quotes delivered by two informants from the Lake Toba Authority Implementing Agency, it can be said that the need for workers in the tourism sector in 8 Regencies Around Lake Toba is currently still high. However, to support the two statements above, a projection will be calculated based on four tourism business samples, namely, star hotels, non-star hotels, restaurants/eateries and Travel. Based on arithmetic calculations, the number of workers in the next five (5) years can be projected. In 2023 the number of workers in travel is estimated at 722 people. In 2024 it will increase to 766 people. In 2025, there were 827 people. In 2026, it increased to 902 people and in 2027, it increased to 1,010 people. The conclusion obtained from the research results can be seen in the projection of the number of special workforce data on travel in the next five (5) years, increasing by around 5% - 12% each year.

Research methods: The research was conducted in Suka Makmur Village, Kutalimbaru District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The research employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach through interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and questionnaires administered to tourists and local residents. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the potential for developing agrotourism in Sigapiton Village as an effort to support rural tourism development. The analysis was carried out using the 6A components approach (Attractions, Accessibility, Amenities, Available Packages, Activities, and Ancillary Services) to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the destination. Furthermore, a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) was conducted to map internal and external factors influencing agrotourism development. Based on the SWOT results, the QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) method was used to determine the most effective priority strategies to be implemented. The findings indicate that Sigapiton Village has strong potential in terms of natural beauty, local culture, and agricultural diversity, but still faces challenges such as limited accessibility, lack of public facilities, and low community involvement. Through QSPM calculations, the prioritized strategies identified are: (1) development of educational tourism packages based on agriculture and local culture; (2) improvement of accessibility and public facilities; (3) optimization of the role of the community and youth; and (4) digital promotion and agrotourism branding. These strategies are expected to support the development of tourism in Sigapiton Village as an agrotourism destination and contribute to the well-being of the local community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the decision to visit domestic tourists from North Sumatra to foreign destinations. The research method uses a quantitative explanatory approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires to 100 respondents selected purposively. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results showed that of the seven independent variables studied, only tourism promotion (X4) and hobbies and interests (X8) had a significant effect on the decision to visit (Y), with coefficients of 0.175 and 0.376, respectively. Meanwhile, personal motivation (X2), tourism products (X3), income (X5), recommendations (X6), and the environment (X7) did not show a significant effect. The R² value of 0.704 indicates that 70.4% of the variation in the decision to visit can be explained by the variables in the model. These findings focus on the importance of effective promotion strategies and adjusting domestic tourist destinations to the interests of the younger generation to increase the competitiveness of local tourism. Research recommendations include strengthening digital promotion, developing interest-based tour packages, and improving destination facilities and accessibility.
