Abstract

Jati Larangan Park in Iroyudan Hamlet, Bantul Regency, is a community-based tourism area with historical, cultural, and natural potential. Despite its appeal as a religious and outdoor tourism destination, the park experienced a decline in activity following the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze community perceptions of the development of Jati Larangan Park to support participatory and sustainable tourism development strategies. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the community has a positive perception of the park because it is considered capable of providing economic, social, and cultural benefits. Youth groups, MSMEs, and the general public recognize the importance of this tourism revival, although management is still hampered by human resources, weak institutional structures of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), and a lack of digital literacy for the promotion and marketing of local products. Community involvement is reflected in the spirit of mutual cooperation and the desire to revitalize the park through various tourism activities. However, a more systematic strategy is still needed in terms of institutional strengthening, youth empowerment, MSME capacity development, and digital promotion. With a Community-Based Tourism (CBT) approach, Jati Larangan Park has the potential to become a leading destination in Bantul with collaborative and sustainable management. In addition to social and economic aspects, the development of Jati Larangan Park must also consider environmental and spatial planning dimensions. Currently, parts of the park are poorly managed, with a lack of sanitation facilities, information boards, and accessible tourist routes for the elderly and people with disabilities. This presents a challenge in realizing an inclusive and comfortable destination.

Abstract

The rapid population growth and urbanization in Jakarta have led to various urban challenges, one of the most significant being traffic congestion, which incurs substantial economic losses. One proposed solution is the development of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) areas, particularly through the expansion of mass transit infrastructure such as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system. This study examines the potential for TOD development in the planned East–West MRT Corridor, with a case study focused on the Grogol MRT Station. This area is considered strategically significant due to its integration with multiple transportation modes, including TransJakarta, microtrans services, and a Type B bus terminal. This research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing both primary and secondary data. The assessment is conducted using a TOD Index method based on three core principles: density, diversity, and design. The analysis reveals that the Grogol MRT Station area has a population density of 19,953 people/km² and a building density of 2,741 units/km², both of which meet the criteria for an urban-scale TOD. The land use entropy index is 0.63, indicating a moderate level of land-use diversity. However, the availability of pedestrian paths (33.96%), bicycle lanes (1.67%), parking facilities (1.84%), and open green space (1.79%) remains significantly below the ideal TOD standards. Overall, the TOD Index score for this area is 0.417, placing it among the bottom five MRT stations in Jakarta. Despite this, the area fulfills the density requirements for urban TOD classification. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including insufficient pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, limited green spaces, and low land-use diversity. Planning interventions are thus necessary, focusing on the provision of integrated pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, functional public spaces, and mixed-use zoning to promote sustainable urban mobility.

Abstract

The study also emphasizes the growing role of technology in enhancing the travel experience for senior citizens. With the rapid digitalization of various industries, including the travel sector, the elderly population is increasingly using mobile applications to plan and book trips. However, older adults often face challenges in adapting to new technologies due to physical, cognitive, or sensory limitations. This study’s results underscore the importance of addressing these barriers in the design of travel applications for seniors. The ease of use and perceived usefulness of these applications are not just about functional features but also about how accessible and user-friendly the design is for older users. In addition to the perceived usefulness and ease of use, it is essential for developers to consider the specific needs and preferences of senior travelers, such as larger fonts, clear navigation, and easy-to-understand instructions. Ensuring that these features are incorporated can greatly enhance the adoption of travel applications among the elderly and improve their overall experience. The findings also suggest that fostering trust and confidence in technology among older users can increase their willingness to engage with digital platforms. Furthermore, future research could explore how other factors, such as social influence or experience with technology, interact with perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness to further explain seniors’ behavioral intentions toward digital travel applications. By addressing these factors, developers can create more inclusive and accessible services that cater to an aging population. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, it is crucial to ensure that seniors are not left behind, and that they can enjoy the same convenience and benefits that digital travel services offer to younger generations.

Abstract

The tourism sector is one of the strategic sectors in Indonesia's development, as mandated by Law Number 10 of 2009. Pangkalpinang City, the capital of Bangka Belitung Islands Province, holds significant potential for developing marine tourism, such as Pasir Padi Beach. This area is designated as a Provincial Tourism Strategic Area (KSPP) based on Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2016. Despite its attractions and strategic location, the development of this area must prioritize environmental sustainability and optimize factors influencing tourist satisfaction, such as facilities, pricing, and tourist attractions. This study aims to analyze the relationship between tourist satisfaction and revisit intention to Pasir Padi Beach. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through surveys using questionnaires and then analyzed with SPSS software. The measured variables include tourism facilities consisting of accommodation, restaurants, and information centers; pricing, which includes affordability, appropriateness, and price competitiveness; as well as tourist attractions, which consist of natural beauty, activities, and cleanliness. The findings reveal that natural beauty, ticket price affordability, cleanliness at the tourist site, the quality of homestays, and the quality of restaurants and street vendors significantly influence tourist satisfaction. By identifying the factors that influence tourist visits, the government can develop appropriate strategies and formulate policies to increase tourist arrivals, based on the key factors that significantly affect tourist satisfaction through their intention to revisit.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of intrinsic motivation, work atmosphere, and work environment on employee productivity and performance at Hotel Kridawisata Bandar Lampung. A total of 30 employees from the hotel were selected as the population for this study, using a saturated sampling approach to obtain a representative sample. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 25.0 to examine the correlation and influence between independent variables (work motivation and work atmosphere) and employee performance. The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between employee work motivation and their performance, with a regression coefficient of 0.389. This indicates that higher work motivation leads to better performance. Additionally, the work atmosphere had a positive and significant impact on employee performance, with a regression coefficient of 0.467. These findings suggest that a supportive and comfortable work atmosphere can significantly enhance employee performance. Based on the obtained R-square value of 0.493 or 49.3%, it can be concluded that work motivation and work atmosphere have an influence on employee performance at Hotel Kridawisata. In other words, approximately 49.3% of the variation in employee performance can be explained by these two factors, while the remaining 50.7% is influenced by other factors not covered in this study. This highlights the importance of both work motivation and the work environment in driving employee performance. Therefore, it is recommended that the management of Hotel Kridawisata continue to improve employee motivation and create a more conducive work atmosphere. This will not only enhance employee performance but also contribute to improving the quality of hotel services, which in turn can increase guest satisfaction and the hotel's operational success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the main challenges in managing Community-Based Tourism (CBT) and develop a sustainable management model for Cemagi Tourism Village, Badung, Bali. This study uses a qualitative approach by combining primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through field observations, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), while secondary data were obtained from literature studies and related documents. The analysis was conducted using the SWOT method and qualitative descriptive methods to describe the actual conditions and opportunities for tourism village development. The results show that tourism village management still faces several challenges, particularly in the aspects of promotion and preservation. Collaboration with various stakeholders is necessary, particularly in utilizing social media as an effective promotional tool. In addition, the preservation of local nature and culture is key to sustainable tourism. The proposed management model places the village government and traditional villages as mentors, Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) and Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) as managers, and the community as active actors in every stage of development. The model refers to the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) management theory, taking into account three aspects of sustainability. First, the economic aspect, through increasing village income, creating jobs, and equitable profit sharing through the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). Second, the socio-cultural aspect, realized through preserving cultural heritage, improving the quality of human resources through tourism training, and strengthening the role of traditional arts. Third, the environmental aspect, with a focus on preserving subak (village-owned enterprises) and green spaces, managing waste using the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle), and nature conservation. Thus, sustainable tourism management requires strong collaboration, cultural preservation, and environmental awareness to ensure long-term benefits for local communities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of business capital on the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at CV Kakarak Food located at Jl. Gunung Batu No. 117T, Sukaraja, Cicendo, Bandung, West Java. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative descriptive approach. Primary data were obtained through distributing questionnaires to 30 respondents who are employees at CV Kakarak Food, while secondary data were obtained from company documentation and relevant literature. The data analysis technique used was simple linear regression to test the partial effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The results of this study indicate that venture capital has a positive and significant influence on the development of MSMEs. The availability of venture capital helps streamline operational activities, strengthen production capacity, improve product quality, and support business expansion efforts to a wider market. Furthermore, venture capital also contributes to increasing company competitiveness in facing the dynamics of the food industry. Therefore, it can be concluded that increasing venture capital is a crucial aspect that must be considered in encouraging the growth and sustainability of MSMEs, particularly CV Kakarak Food and similar MSMEs in the food sector. This research is expected to provide input for business owners, the government, and related parties in designing MSME development strategies oriented towards capital strengthening, thus creating more stable, independent, and highly competitive businesses in the future. Furthermore, the results of this study can also serve as an academic reference for further research and as evaluation material for MSMEs in determining managerial policy priorities.

Abstract

Kotagede, one of the historic districts in Yogyakarta, boasts a rich cultural and architectural heritage that makes it a prominent destination for walking tours. Walking along its historic alleys, traditional buildings, bustling markets, and local life offers visitors an authentic cultural tourism experience. However, the current design of walking tours in Kotagede still tends to emphasize historical narratives and architectural visualization, leaving the multisensory potential of the area underutilized. This study aims to analyze how tourists perceive sensory experiences (visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, and tactile) during walking tours in Kotagede and to identify the most dominant elements that shape such experiences. The research employed a descriptive, qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The participants consisted of 32 tourists who had just completed a walking tour, selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that visual experience is the most dominant sensory element, particularly through traditional architecture and historic buildings. Auditory elements, such as birdsong and market activities, enrich the atmosphere, while tactile experiences with building materials provide authenticity and strengthen tourists' emotional connection with local history.Meanwhile, olfactory elements, such as the aroma of spices, incense, and aged wood, contribute to the overall ambiance, though occasionally disrupted by unpleasant odors from waste. Gustatory experiences are often encountered during tours of local culinary products, demonstrating strong potential as markers of cultural identity, although they are not yet fully integrated into the tour itinerary. These findings highlight a gap between Kotagede's multisensory potential and the existing design of the walking tour. Therefore, the development of more holistic sensory-based walking tours is necessary to enhance visitor satisfaction while reinforcing Kotagede’s cultural identity as a meaningful heritage destination.

Abstract

In late August 2025, Indonesia was rocked by nationwide political demonstrations, triggered by the death of a delivery driver at the hands of police. These protests turned violent, leading to multiple casualties, injuries, and arson attacks on government and commercial buildings. This unrest has raised international concerns regarding the country’s safety image. This paper uses a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze secondary sources, such as news media, government releases, and academic literature, to explore how hosting the 2025 MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit could be used as a nation-branding strategy to counter negative perceptions. The study draws on nation branding theory, destination image concepts, event leveraging, and Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT). Findings suggest that Indonesian authorities are actively promoting MotoGP Mandalika 2025 as an opportunity to demonstrate the country’s resilience and safety standards. We analyze two scenarios: one in which the event is canceled and one where it is successfully executed. The paper argues that canceling the event, unless due to a legitimate health crisis, would signal weakness and harm the country's image, while proceeding with it would reflect confidence and effective crisis management. As a "brand shield," the MotoGP event is being leveraged to reinforce the narrative of Indonesia as a stable and safe international sports host, demonstrating the country's ability to manage crises while showcasing its commitment to safety and resilience.
