Abstract

Academic supervision, which has traditionally focused on administrative aspects, has not fully succeeded in promoting sustainable teacher professionalism; therefore, a more empowering approach through coaching is needed. This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, and evaluation of principals’ academic supervision in enhancing teacher professionalism through a coaching approach at MAN 1 Aceh Besar and MAS Al-Manar. The study employed a qualitative approach with a multi-case study design. The research subjects consisted of two principals and ten teachers selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data trustworthiness was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, member checking, and prolonged engagement in the field. The findings revealed that academic supervision planning was conducted systematically through collaborative meetings, identification of teachers’ needs, and the development of continuous professional development programs. The implementation of coaching-based supervision involved classroom observations, reflective dialogues, individual and group coaching sessions, mentoring by senior teachers, and professional training facilitated by external experts. The evaluation process was carried out through dialogic and reflective practices aimed at teacher competency development, resulting in improvements in lesson planning, the use of innovative teaching methods, professional reflection, collaboration, and professional communication. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a coaching-based academic supervision model that integrates individual mentoring, collective coaching, senior teacher involvement, and the strengthening of a reflective culture within the context of madrasahs and Islamic boarding schools. Therefore, coaching-based academic supervision has proven to be an effective teacher empowerment strategy that enhances teacher professionalism sustainably and contributes to improving the quality of learning in madrasahs.

Abstract

The rapid growth of social commerce has transformed TikTok from an entertainment platform into a major digital marketing channel, particularly through affiliate video content. In Indonesia, women’s fashion products are among the best-selling categories in online shopping activities, while TikTok affiliate videos increasingly influence consumers’ product discovery and purchase decisions. Drawing on the Extended Advertising Value Model (EAVM), this study examines how entertainment, informativeness, credibility, personalization, interactivity, and irritation influence purchase intention through perceived value in the context of TikTok affiliate videos. Using a quantitative explanatory design, this study surveys 260 female TikTok users in Indonesia aged 18 years and above who have watched, interacted with, or purchased products from women’s fashion affiliate content on TikTok. Data are collected through an online questionnaire using purposive sampling techniques and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that five of the six dimensions : personalization, entertainment, interactivity, informativeness, and irritation significantly influenced perceived value, whereas credibility did not. Perceived value strongly predicted purchase intention and functioned as a central mediating mechanism: it fully mediated the effects of entertainment, informativeness, irritation, and interactivity, partially mediated the effect of personalization, and showed no mediation for credibility. Personalization exerted the strongest influence on both perceived value and purchase intention. These findings extend the advertising value model to the affiliate-marketing context and position perceived value as the key psychological route through which advertising attributes are translated into purchase intention.

Abstract

This study examines human resource management (HRM) in primary schools implementing inclusive education in Palu City, Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach with multi-site design, the research investigates seven HRM functions based on Gary Dessler's framework: planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation, employee relations, and occupational safety and health. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies involving nine key informants from the Palu City Education Office and four inclusive primary schools. The findings reveal that HRM implementation remains suboptimal across all seven dimensions, characterized by reactive planning without comprehensive data, dualistic recruitment systems between public and private schools, varied training models, performance appraisal lacking inclusive indicators, distributive injustice in compensation, multi-layered collaborative employee relations, and high job demands coupled with compassion satisfaction as a motivational buffer. This study contributes a theoretical novelty in the form of the Public Administration-Based Inclusive Education HRM Model, which integrates Dessler's seven HRM functions into the analysis of inclusive education as regional public policy.

Abstract

The rapid diffusion of artificial intelligence (AI) into religious education, Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir), and da'wah practice raises urgent questions about how classical Islamic epistemology can govern emergent digital technologies. Existing scholarship has largely treated AI governance, exegetical authenticity, and the reconfiguration of religious authority as separate concerns. This paper constructs an integrated Qur'anic ethical framework, anchored in Tawhid, Maqasid al-Shariah, Adl (justice), and Amanah (trust), for evaluating AI's role across Islamic scholarship and education, with particular attention to the Nusantara context and Indonesian State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI), including IAIN Parepare. Employing a qualitative conceptual-theological method, the study synthesizes recent Scopus-indexed literature (2015–2024) across Islamic studies, AI ethics, digital humanities, and theology, and triangulates this literature with purposive semi-structured interviews conducted with sixteen lecturers and institutional leaders at two Indonesian Islamic higher education institutions, IAIN Parepare and Institut Agama Islam Hamzanwadi (IAIH) Pancor. Findings, corroborated by field interviews, show that algorithmic bias risks decontextualizing Qur'anic meaning; that AI is reshaping religious authority toward hybrid, digitally negotiated figures while lecturers and institutional leaders continue to anchor authority in scholarly transmission and moral exemplarity; that PTKI institutions face both opportunity and risk in adopting AI for religious instruction and currently lack formal governance instruments to manage that risk; and that Islamic theology maintains a firm boundary between AI's mechanistic processing and divine omniscience or human moral agency. The paper argues that AI can be legitimately deployed only as an assistive instrument under sustained human scholarly oversight, and it offers a practical, maqasid-based governance model relevant to PTKI and to Indonesia's broader project of digital transformation in Islamic higher education.

Abstract

Restorative settlement of adult criminal cases in Indonesia ends proceedings without conviction, yet the governing instruments require identified register entry, fix no retention limit, and leave indexation to keep the record retrievable. Restorative justice separates reparation from reintegration, and termination tests only the first, so the publicity that follows records no restorative outcome and withholds the disapproval-withdrawal reintegration requires. It also operates as the functional equivalent of an additional penalty upon persons never convicted, exposure statute withholds from children but not adults. Because restrictions on data subject rights fall under a statutory reservation in Law No. 27 of 2022 and the 1945 Constitution, the question is one of form. It asks what a valid derogation requires, how the instruments qualify against delegation, and what redress remains. The study is doctrinal, resting on primary legal materials and documented practice. Three cumulative conditions govern derogation. Necessity is indexed to an active process and expires at closure, when retention keeps a basis, access a narrower one, publication none. The openness statute reaches the terminating instrument, not the identifiers of the person named in it. The instruments do not purport to derogate, and read as though they did satisfy neither branch of the statutory test, so a derogation resting on them is defective. Because redress requires the exposed person to disclose the identity at issue, defect and paralysis are one problem. The response lies in a statutory basis, anonymisation by default, closed retention allowing verification of eligibility, and determined access.
