Abstract

The relocation policy for Street Vendors (PKL) in the Teras Malioboro 2 area, Yogyakarta, is part of the government’s efforts to improve urban spatial planning and enhance the quality of tourism areas. However, the implementation of this policy has generated various dynamics, indicating problems in policy governance. This study aims to analyze the crisis of collaborative governance in the relocation policy, focusing on conflicts among stakeholders, the level of public participation, and the post-relocation economic impacts. The study employed a qualitative approach with a document study and media analysis design. Data sources included online news reports, alternative media articles, and official government statements. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns and relationships among the findings. The results show that the relocation policy has not been fully implemented in a collaborative manner, as indicated by conflicts between the government and street vendors, limited public participation that tended to be merely procedural, and declining as well as unstable vendor incomes after the relocation. These findings indicate that the quality of policy governance plays an important role in determining the success of public policy implementation. This study contributes to the development of collaborative governance studies by emphasizing the importance of substantive participation, equal communication, and economic needs-based planning in policies regulating the informal sector in urban areas.

Abstract

This paper aims to systematically review and reframe the concept of city branding through the integration of functional, symbolic, and experiential dimensions, while embedding Islamic marketing values. It explores how the incorporation of tawhid (oneness), ihsan (excellence), and amanah (trust) enhances the authenticity and sustainability of Muslim-friendly urban destinations. Using the PRISMA 2020 protocol, this study systematically reviews 234 Scopus-indexed articles (2002–2025) and applies bibliometric analysis through VOSviewer and RStudio to identify major themes, citation patterns, and theoretical gaps in city branding, halal tourism, and ethical governance. The review identifies three core dimensions—functional (infrastructure, accessibility, hospitality, governance), symbolic (heritage, identity, ethical representation), and experiential (tourist engagement, events, and digital storytelling)—that collectively enhance city brand effectiveness. Integrating Islamic marketing values strengthens trust, authenticity, and visitor satisfaction, resulting in higher revisit intention and brand loyalty. Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and Malaysia, emerges as a global hub for Muslim-friendly city branding research.

Abstract

The principle of sustainability (going concern) must create a mutual understanding of the parties in resolving business disputes, debts, and receivables. The principle of good faith in an obligatory agreement guarantees legal certainty for the parties. Failing to meet obligations in a commercial deal does not automatically lead to insolvency, since bankruptcy is viewed as a final option. This study aims to investigate how the going concern principle is applied to debtor organizations within Indonesia’s bankruptcy framework. The methodology follows a normative juridical model, relying on a statutory approach along with prescriptive analysis, and incorporates pertinent primary and secondary legal materials. The results show that there are disharmony and inconsistency of bankruptcy regulations and the Company Law related to the settlement of debtor assets and universal bankruptcy principles, so that a renewal of bankruptcy law is needed, one of which is related to the concept of going concern in bankruptcy considerations through the solvency approach of debtor entities. Creditors can file for bankruptcy if the debtor’s financial statements receive a going concern audit opinion from the auditor because it more accurately describes the company’s health condition. Therefore, the bankruptcy process must consider the going concern principle so that it can provide justice to debtors and creditors in resolving their business disputes.

Abstract

The institutional transformation of State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) requires a leadership model that is not only adaptive to external dynamics but also capable of ensuring the sustainability of internal organizational change. This study focuses on developing a sustainable leadership model within the institutional transformation of Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq State Islamic University (UIN KHAS) Jember, which has undergone a status transition from STAIN to IAIN and subsequently to UIN between 1997 and 2024. The core problem lies in the imbalance between the acceleration of structural changes and the readiness of human resources, institutional governance, and social legitimacy. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research utilizes in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis to explore the meaning of leadership within the process of institutional transformation. The findings reveal that the success of transformation is determined not only by the strength of leadership vision, but also by two interrelated dimensions: effective communication and adaptive networking. These findings are reinforced through the BAJA (Language/Communication and Social Network) approach, which functions as a strategic instrument for building legitimacy, strengthening institutional cohesion, and expanding collaborative networks. This study results in a conceptual model of sustainable leadership that is both applicable and contextually relevant to PTKIN, while offering theoretical, practical, and academic contributions to the development of value-based and sustainability-oriented leadership studies

Abstract

Islamophobia is a social psychological phenomenon characterized by prejudice and negative stereotypes against Islam, fueled by historical factors, media distortion, and global geopolitical dynamics. In Indonesia, this phenomenon manifests paradoxically as "Domestic Islamophobia," where fear is directed not at religion in sociological terms, but rather at symbols of individual piety, often misinterpreted as seeds of radicalism. The resulting impacts are multidimensional, ranging from social polarization to mental health problems for its victims. This article/study aims to analyze the characteristics and impacts of Islamophobia, and to formulate strategies to overcome it through the synergy of cognitive psychology and Islamic education. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with theoretical analysis based on social psychology literature (Social Contact Theory, Social Learning), Islamic psychology (Malik Badri), and the thoughts of moderate Islamic education figures (Abdurrahman Wahid and M. Quraish Shihab). The analysis shows that Islamophobia is formed through confirmation bias and social categorization. As a solution, psychology plays a role in cognitive restructuring to reduce prejudice and foster positive Muslim role models. Meanwhile, Islamic education plays a role in disseminating humanist and moderate Islamic values (Wasathiyah) to reduce rigid views on religious texts. Implementation is carried out through counseling based on preventive approaches (media literacy, interfaith dialogue) and curative approaches (culturally sensitive counseling, restorative justice). The synergy between psychology and Islamic education creates an effective dual defense system. Psychology plays a role in breaking the chain of prejudice at the individual level, while Islamic education builds an inclusive social value structure to permanently counter Islamophobic narratives.

Abstract

The increasing implementation of sustainability reporting has encouraged companies to improve transparency and accountability toward stakeholders. However, empirical evidence regarding its effect on firm value remains inconclusive, particularly concerning the mechanism through which sustainability reporting influences firm value in emerging markets. This study aims to examine the effect of sustainability reporting on firm value and investigate the mediating role of cost of capital in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024. This research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from annual reports, sustainability reports, and financial statements. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model and Sobel test for mediation analysis. The findings reveal that sustainability reporting has a positive and significant effect on firm value, indicating that greater sustainability disclosure enhances investor confidence and market valuation. Furthermore, sustainability reporting has a negative and significant effect on the cost of capital, suggesting that higher disclosure reduces information asymmetry and perceived investment risk. The results also show that the cost of capital negatively and significantly affects firm value. In addition, the Sobel test confirms that the cost of capital significantly mediates the relationship between sustainability reporting and firm value. These findings indicate that sustainability reporting not only directly increases firm value but also indirectly enhances firm value by reducing the cost of capital. Therefore, sustainability reporting serves as an important strategic instrument for improving corporate transparency, financing efficiency, and long-term firm value.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the Sakinah Family Program among the Tajio indigenous community in Alindau Village, Sindue Tobata District, Donggala Regency. The study employed an empirical legal approach using qualitative methods with a case study design to obtain an in-depth understanding of the application of sakinah family values within the socio-cultural context of the Tajio community. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with Islamic Religious Extension Officers, the Head of the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), and Tajio families, complemented by documentation and literature review. The findings reveal that although the respondent families have fulfilled the legal and administrative requirements of marriage according to Islamic law and state regulations, the implementation of sakinah family values has not been fully realized. Weak religious practices, limited participation in religious activities, economic constraints, and the absence of participation in the Marriage Guidance Program (Binwin) have hindered the internalization of spiritual, social, and emotional values within family life. Nevertheless, community-based religious guidance conducted through regular Friday evening gatherings has emerged as a culturally adaptive approach that supports family development. Therefore, strengthening sakinah families in indigenous communities requires collaborative and culturally responsive strategies involving religious institutions, traditional leaders, and local governments. This study contributes to the development of Islamic family law and family resilience literature by providing empirical evidence regarding the challenges and dynamics of establishing sakinah families within marginalized indigenous communities.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the way Indonesian pilgrims plan their religious journeys, leading to the emergence of independent Umrah as an alternative to conventional travel agency services. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing Indonesian pilgrims’ intention to choose independent Umrah by employing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and examining the moderating role of digital literacy. A quantitative research approach was adopted through a survey of 200 prospective Umrah pilgrims in Indonesia. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results indicate that Attitude and perceived behavioral control have a positive and significant effect on the intention to choose independent Umrah, whereas subjective norms do not have a significant effect. Furthermore, digital literacy was not found to moderate the relationships between Attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control and the intention to choose independent Umrah. These findings suggest that internal psychological factors, particularly positive evaluations of independent Umrah and confidence in one’s ability to independently manage the pilgrimage journey, are the primary determinants of intention formation, rather than social influence or digital capabilities. This study extends the application of the Theory of Planned Behavior in the context of digitally supported religious tourism and addresses the limited literature on independent Umrah behavior in Indonesia. Practically, the findings provide implications for policymakers, Umrah service providers, and digital platform developers in designing more effective services to support the growth and development of independent Umrah
