Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Kahoot-based ice breaking activities on students’ learning motivation in Mathematics for third-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Pannara. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group design. The study involved 69 students divided into two groups: an experimental class with 30 students and a control class with 39 students. Data collection techniques included pre-tests, post-tests, motivation questionnaires, and observation sheets. Descriptive analysis results showed an increase in the average learning motivation score in the experimental class from 42.50 (Low category) to 88.40 (Very Good category) in the post-test. Meanwhile, the control class increased from an average pre-test score of 43.44 to a post-test score of 81.10 (Good category). The results of the Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample T-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 ≤ 0.05, indicating that Kahoot-based ice breaking activities have a significant effect on improving students’ learning motivation in Mathematics.

Abstract

The study was to create a problem using wordwall and to evaluate its impact on the learning achievement of class iii students in round numerical materials. The background of this study is based on the problem of students' low interest and motivation in following the traditional mathematical learning assessments through the issues written in the package book. These circumstances leave many students feeling bored, diminished in zeal, even resulting in a decline in their study. The methods used in the study are research and development (randd) with addie models, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subject of this study is 20 students from class iii at the islamic school tahfidz darul mujahideen n majidi. The instruments used include a validation sheet from materials and media experts, a teacher and student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test results. The results from research indicate that it was a very valid t-wall evaluation, with the validation score of materials by 96.92% and media experts by 90.6%. In terms of practicality, the teacher's response is very positive, reaching a percentage of 96%, while the students give a positive assessment of this media by a percentage of 90%. In terms of effectiveness, there is seen an average increase in students' grades from 50 on pre-test to 85 on post-test. N-gain value by 0.7 shows a high category, which means wordwall use has proved to be effective in improving learning. Thus, the study asserts that development on wordwall assessments can be an innovative alternative to improved learning assessments, especially in elementary school numerical multiplicity.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the phenomenon of time dilation based on the Special Theory of Relativity through the Walter Fendt Relativity Simulation. The main problem in this research is how the relative velocity of an object affects the difference in time rates between two observers in different reference frames. The research employs a virtual experimental method with a descriptive quantitative approach. Data were obtained from simulations with relative velocities of (v/c = 0.3, 0.6, 0.8, 0.9, and 0.95), which were then compared with theoretical calculations using Einstein’s time dilation equation. The results indicate that as the relative velocity increases, the time difference between the two observers becomes greater. The percentage of agreement between the simulation and theoretical results shows a very small deviation, indicating that the Walter Fendt simulation has good validity in representing the concept of time dilation. These findings suggest that virtual simulations are effective in enhancing the understanding of relativistic concepts in modern physics learning.

Abstract

The low accuracy and objectivity of manual evaluation of mathematics learning in higher education impacts the quality of student research. This study aims to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based evaluation model to improve the effectiveness of assessment and the quality of mathematics education research. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with a modified Borg & Gall model, encompassing needs analysis, design, expert validation, and limited trials. The resulting model consists of four main components: Data Input, AI Processing, Assessment Output, and Feedback System, all connected through a feedback loop. Validation results showed a "very valid" validity level (average >3.6), while trials demonstrated a 25–30% increase in assessment consistency between lecturers. The AI system was also able to detect student conceptual errors quickly and accurately. The results confirm that this model is effective in improving the objectivity, efficiency, and quality of student research. The study recommends the development of a machine learning-based feedback loop and the integration of the model into the campus Learning Management System (LMS).

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the feasibility of a geometry teaching module design based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) to improve students' learning outcomes. It also aims to identify the improvement in elementary school students' geometry problem-solving skills through the implementation of the RME-based geometry teaching module. This research is a type of development research (Research and Development) using the 4D development model proposed by Thiagarajan. In this study, the researcher implemented the 4D development procedure only up to the third stage, namely development, since the focus of this study is solely on developing a problem-based module using the RME approach. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaires administered to expert validators, including subject matter experts and learning design experts. Based on the research results, the RME-based geometry teaching module design is considered highly feasible for improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 101797 Deli Tua. The geometry problem-solving skills of elementary school students showed a significant improvement through the implementation of the RME-based teaching module. The pre-test results before using the module showed an average student problem-solving score of 30.4. After using the teaching module design, the average score increased to 85.3. Therefore, the RME-based teaching module is highly recommended for enhancing students' problem-solving abilities in the topic of two-dimensional geometry.
