Abstract

The impact of nutritional status on cognitive function, academic achievement and performance, and overall productivity is substantial. Adequate nutritional status safeguards society against the detrimental effects of malnutrition, thereby preserving the collective national welfare in addition to enhancing individual well-being. The Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) method is implemented by this service. The screening process entails the collection of anthropometric data, including weight, height, and body mass index. The expeditious implementation of community-based initiatives that detect nutritional disorders in their early stages can effectively mitigate the detrimental effects of malnutrition on the health of children. It is critical to incorporate a comprehensive approach that tackles determinants including socio-economic factors and promotes healthy eating practices in order to effectively combat malnutrition and facilitate optimal growth and development.

Abstract

Hypertension is a global public health problem that contributes to the leading cause of death and death worldwide. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia based on the results of blood pressure measurements in residents aged ≥18 years is 34.11%. Hypertension can be caused by 2 factors, namely risk factors that can be modified (diet, physical activity, alcohol, cigarettes) and risk factors that cannot be modified (age, gender, and genetics). Hypertension that is not managed properly can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease and chronic kidney disease. This activity uses sustainable methods in the form of PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) and blood pressure measurement. It was found that 26 participants suffered from hypertension. Screening for hypertension is very important to prevent complications and produce a better quality of life.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide discourse and provide an understanding of the importance of speaking correctly and ethically in the digital space. This is important because the increasing development of technology in the digital era has resulted in new breakthroughs in social media and the like. Social Media (digital media) is a means of communication for the world community that relatively closes the distance between one region and another, which makes it very easy for users to interact with anyone, so correct and ethical language procedures are needed when communicating in the digital space. A language is considered correct if it is a mixture of six types of digital language (EYD Indonesian, mass media language, social media, digital community, emojis, and machine language), masters digital literacy, is polite, does not violate the law, and gives kindness. Meanwhile, language politeness, which is called language etiquette or language ethics, is basically the speaker's attitude towards the interlocutor which is manifested in the use of language. The essence of language or speaking is respect for oneself, other people, differences of opinion, values and norms, multiculturalism and pluralism

Abstract

The more creative students there are in a country, the more poverty and unemployment can be minimized. This is in accordance with the statement by Mark G. Hanna and Buddy Robinson, 1994 that there are three main strategies for empowerment in the practice of social change, namely traditional, direct action, and transformation. 1) Traditional strategy, suggests knowing and choosing the best interests freely in various circumstances, 2) Direct-action strategy, requiring the dominance of interests that are respected by all parties involved, viewed from the perspective of changes that may occur, and 3) Transformative strategy, shows that long-term mass education is needed before identification of self-interest. The creation of students who are broad-minded and have the ability to develop businesses can grow the Indonesian economy.

Abstract

Facial analysis plays an important role in early identification of medical conditions through skin changes. Face Analyzer technology offers accurate detection of skin health parameters such as elasticity, hydration, texture and signs of aging. This service activity was carried out at Kalam Kudus High School involving 68 men and women of productive age (18-64 years). Skin measurements using the Skin Analyzer include parameters for pores, spots, wrinkles and roughness. The majority of respondents were aged 18-35 years (52.9%), followed by those aged 36-50 years (27.9%) and 51-64 years (19.1%), with 61.8% female. Data show significant variations in skin parameters based on age, with increased wrinkles and skin roughness at older ages. The results show the importance of early detection and intervention to maintain healthy skin. Regular monitoring and education using advanced technology such as the Face Analyzer can increase awareness and prevention of skin problems. The use of Face Analyzer technology and comprehensive skin health education is very important to improve the skin health of individuals of productive age, prevent skin problems, and improve quality of life.

Abstract

Stroke is the number one cause of disability and the number three cause of death in the world after heart disease and cancer in both developed and developing countries. The burden due to stroke is mainly caused by disability (public health problem) which also creates a high cost burden for both sufferers, families, society and the state. In Indonesia, according to Riskesdas in 2017, stroke is also the highest cause of death in all age groups with a proportion of 15.4%, while in the 55 - 64 year age group it reaches 26.8% in both urban and rural areas and the youngest stroke cases are found in the 18 - 24 years old. The prevalence of stroke in Indonesia is 8.3 per 1000 population and those diagnosed by health workers are 6 per 1000 population. One promotive effort to control stroke is to provide health education through a family approach, inviting families to be more concerned and alert about stroke. Community Service Stikes Kesdam IV/Diponegoro Semarang is a form of one part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which seeks to provide benefits to public health through activities, especially in controlling stroke in the community.
