Abstract

Socio-economic factors that exist in society are triggers for individuals to develop unhealthy behavior and experiences, including instability in the household, child abuse, parents who smoke, parents who drink, difficult access to health, environmental pollution, heavy smokers, heavy drinkers. heavy, alcohol and drug abuse by teenagers. The aim of the service is health education regarding the dangers of smoking for teenagers at the Pajajaran Bandung Polytechnic. The result was 100% that they understood the counseling material that had been delivered. After that the extension activities were closed. The obstacles encountered during the counseling activity process were that female and male students lacked enthusiasm, due to a lack of activity, socialization and communication between fellow students, making it difficult to contact the students. This shows that providing education on the dangers of smoking has proven effective in increasing participants' knowledge. Counseling is an effort to increase knowledge and awareness, in addition to attitudes and behavior of adolescents

Abstract

The nutritional status of toddlers is the health condition of toddlers which is determined by the degree of physical need for energy and nutrients obtained from food or foods whose physical impacts can be measured using anthropometry. Methods for implementing activities or strategies used to increase the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about balanced nutrition in toddlers, nutritional problems with stunting and maintaining normal nutritional status. After the counseling activities were carried out, participants were given a questionnaire to determine changes in the mother's knowledge and understanding of the material provided by the service team. As for knowledge before and after the nutrition education activities were carried out, it was found that the level of knowledge from 30 respondents was more than half, 20 (66.6%) mothers had low knowledge about balanced nutrition and after the counseling was carried out, 5 (16.7%) mothers had sufficient knowledge, 25 (83%) 3%) mothers have good knowledge. Increasing the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about balanced nutrition in toddlers is expected to improve the attitudes and actions of mothers in providing balanced nutrition to toddlers so that the nutritional status of toddlers is in the normal category.

Abstract

Fever is a body condition above normal (>37.5 0C). As a result of an increase in the temperature regulation center in the hypothalamus. Most fevers in children are the result of changes in the heat center (thermoregulation) in the hypothalamus. Diseases characterized by fever can attack the body's systems. Apart from that, fever plays a role in increasing the development of specific and non-specific immunity in helping recovery or defense against infection. The aim of this activity is to be able to understand fever and giving warm compresses to find out the efficacy of warm compresses in febrile patients. Health education about fever and warm compresses can increase public knowledge to make every effort to treat fever with warm compresses.

Abstract

Cocoa is one of the dominant plantation crops in Rendenao Village, Kotakomba District. Rendenao Village, Kotakomba District, is one of the cocoa development areas in East Manggarai Regency. The planting area is quite satisfactory, but the yield and quality are still below the national average. The general aim of this activity is to build and develop farming communities through cocoa commodity businesses in order to produce quality and reliable human resources. Reliable human resources will be able to manage all existing natural resource potential to produce quality cocoa bean production, both in terms of production and productivity, so as to create added value and competitiveness according to market needs. Apart from that, in the long term it is hoped that this activity will be able to increase people's income and create jobs as well as being able to increase the competitiveness of the cocoa value chain by providing more business opportunities in the cocoa plantation subsector within it. East Manggarai Regency, especially Rendenao Village, Kotakomba District. The focus of implementing this service is increasing knowledge and skills capacity in managing cocoa gardens and plants, rejuvenating old plants, and improving the quality of harvests. During extension activities and field practices, cocoa farmers have been able to carry out cocoa maintenance practices, plant rejuvenation and post-harvest fruit processing practices. At least farmer groups will create demonstration plots to implement care, rejuvenation and post-harvest care which will then be compared with the results achieved conventionally. Apart from that, cocoa farmers are also trained in managing farmer groups. Where the harvest will be concentrated to be given fermentation and drying treatment simultaneously. Marketing will be done collectively, not individually. Collective sales will save transportation costs, so the sales value received will be higher.

Abstract

This community service is in collaboration with MSME partner Siengkong TapiOk Bogor. This MSME is a food business that carries an urban and sustainability theme that focuses on local Indonesian food. This business is local Indonesian food with unique and modern flavors. For this reason, Siengkong TapiOk was made a partner in this PM so that partners can become facilitators in guiding local residents to be more productive and creative to meet the economic stability of the people of Bogor. Based on the results of the situation analysis, we discussed material that could at least help overcome the existing problems. The PM theme is "Training on E-Commerce Creation and Promotion through Tokopedia Marketplace Media for MSMEs in Siengkong Tapiok Bogor". The method is a lecture containing a tutorial on how to make sales through the Tokopedia marketplace which is carried out offline in front of the participants. The target achievement of this community service activity, apart from increasing the skills of the members of the Siengkong TapiOk Bogor MSMEs, is also in the form of publications in the form of press releases and journals.

Abstract

Cholesterol sufferers in Indonesia are quite high, reaching 28% and 7.9% of people die from this disease. If treated too late, high cholesterol can endanger health and even lead to death. Decreased organ function in the elderly increases the risk of degenerative diseases. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies are used to treat cholesterol. On the other hand, red ginger has been proven to be effective in lowering cholesterol levels. Red ginger contains flavonoid compounds with hypocholesterologenic effects and inhibits enzymes involved in cholesterol biosynthesis. The mechanism of action involves influence on enzyme activity, inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This study aims to determine the significant effect on cholesterol levels after consuming red ginger. The experimental research method was Purposive Sampling and the examination method used the fotometry. Data analysis used the SPSS program Paired T test with a sig value of 0.002 which was carried out on 19 elderly people aged 45-74 years with cholesterol levels >200 mg/dl by administering ginger. red 3.2 ml/kg BW every day for 14 days, in Kaliwadas Cirebon.. The results of the study showed that the results of checking cholesterol levels before treatment were found to be an average of 231 mg/dl and cholesterol levels after were found to be an average of 199 mg/dl. The conclusion of this research is that there is an effect of giving red ginger on total cholesterol levels with a percentage of 21.9%.

Abstract

Health is very important for human life. Health can be expressed in two senses, especially in the narrow and broad sense. Skin health problems are something that needs to be considered by the community because skin health is still a matter of little concern in terms of personal and environmental hygiene, one of which is scabies. Scabies is caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis,s. This disease usually affects humans who live in groups and live together, such as in dormitories. This study aims to determine the presence of Sarcoptes scabiei on the mattresses of students at the Tarbiyatul Banin Islamic boarding school and to determine the percentage of mattresses that contain Sarcoptes scabiei at the Tarbiyatul Banin Islamic boarding school. Descriptive research methods and inspection methods using microscopic methods. For data analysis using the frequency descriptive statistics SPSS program. The results of the 35 samples of mattress dust examined were 4 positive samples with a percentage of 11.4%, while 31 samples of mattress dust were negative with a percentage of 88.6%.

Abstract

Good service is queue-free. As a field related to operational management, many methods are used to reduce or even eliminate queues. Technology is one method used to eliminate queues. Mekarmukti Village, as a village with a large population, needs to use technology in mail services to eliminate queues. The aim of this community service is to implement WhatsApp Chatbot to increase efficiency in correspondence services thereby reducing queues in Mekarmukti Village. The method used in the service is training and practice in creating WhatsApp Chatbots. The service was carried out in Mekarmukti Village, North Cikarang. Chatbot training and practice participants are Mekarmukti Village officials related to services and correspondence. After carrying out training and practice in creating WhatsApp chatbots, queues were reduced in the service section. Apart from that, the public can access correspondence information within 24 hours via WhatsApp Chatbot. By carrying out this service, it is hoped that it will be able to reduce queues for sending correspondence.

The aim of this community service activity is to develop and develop farmers through the coffee commodity business in order to produce quality and reliable human resources. Reliable human resources will be able to manage all existing natural resource potential to produce quality coffee, both in terms of production and productivity, so as to create added value and competitiveness according to market needs. Apart from that, in the long term it is hoped that this activity will be able to increase the income of coffee farmers and create jobs as well as being able to increase the competitiveness of the coffee value chain by providing more business opportunities in the coffee plantation subsector. East Manggarai Regency, especially Colol Village, Lamba Leda District. The focus of implementing this service is increasing the knowledge and skills capacity of farmers in managing coffee plants through maintenance, intensification and rehabilitation to improve the quality of the harvest. Through training and mentoring activities, coffee farmers are able to carry out coffee maintenance, intensification and rehabilitation.

Abstract

Literacy is one of the indicators of the nation development. Unfortunately, our people’s literacy is still low and needs to be introduced early to the children. SMP Negeri 2 Sukowono, Jember, also faced the same problem. Their students’ literacy and reading interest were still lacking. Besides, there was not any activtity which accomodate students’ interest in literacy. The community service team proposed a solution to make a Language Literacy Club for this problem. The program was conducted through four steps; preliminary study, planning, implementing, and evaluation. After being implemented to the students, it gained positive responses from both students and teachers. The students enjoyed the activity done in the group so much. Moreover, students’ language ability and confidence increased. Therefore, it can be concluded that the existence of Language Literacy Club is beneficial for the students. Next, an active promotion is needed to attract more students to join this club.
