Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the implementation of gross motor development in early childhood through traditional games at TK Azizah. Traditional games such as engklek are used as a learning medium to develop gross motor skills in children aged 5–6 years. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that planning is carried out collaboratively by teachers, principals, and the curriculum team. The implementation involves stages such as introduction of the game, giving instructions and examples, playing activity, and evaluation. The obstacles faced include children's low initial interest due to the influence of gadgets, limited space, short activity time, and lack of parental involvement. However, the results show improvement in children's gross motor skills such as balance, coordination, muscle strength, and self-confidence. The engklek game also proves effective in instilling cultural and social values. Therefore, the application of traditional games in early childhood education needs to be continuously supported and developed. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pengembangan motorik kasar pada anak usia dini melalui permainan tradisional di TK Azizah. Permainan tradisional seperti engklek digunakan sebagai sarana pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak usia 5–6 tahun. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan dilakukan secara kolaboratif antara guru, kepala sekolah, dan tim kurikulum. Pelaksanaan kegiatan melibatkan tahapan pengenalan permainan, pemberian instruksi, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hambatan yang ditemui meliputi rendahnya minat awal anak karena pengaruh gadget, keterbatasan ruang, waktu, serta kurangnya keterlibatan orang tua. Namun, hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan motorik kasar anak, seperti keseimbangan, koordinasi, kekuatan otot, dan kepercayaan diri. Permainan engklek juga terbukti efektif dalam menanamkan nilai budaya dan sosial. Oleh karena itu, penerapan permainan tradisional dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini perlu terus didukung dan dikembangkan.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to improve early reading skills among children aged 5–6 years in TK B learning groups through the use of flash card media. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design. The study subjects consisted of two groups: an experimental group that used flash cards and a control group that applied conventional teaching methods. The findings revealed a significant improvement in early reading skills among children in the experimental group following the implementation of flash cards. In contrast, the control group showed only minimal improvement in the post-test results. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of flash cards is significantly effective in enhancing early reading skills in young children. This study is expected to contribute to the development of reading instruction methods in early childhood education. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak usia 5-6 tahun di kelompok belajar TK B melalui penggunaan media flash card. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain pre-test dan post-test. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan flash card dan kelompok control yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan membaca permulaan anak setelah penggunaan media flash card. Sebaliknya, kelompok control post-test menunjukkan peningkatan yang minimal. Dari hasil analisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media flash card secara signifikan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak usia dini. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan metode pembelajaran membaca pada pendidikan anak usia dini.

Abstract

Abstract. This research was motivated by preliminary findings indicating low listening skills in 20 early childhood students in Class B of Inten Sewu Kindergarten due to limited facilities, inadequate learning media, and suboptimal implementation of learning strategies. Based on these conditions, the researcher designed a classroom action research with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of the storytelling method using finger puppets in improving the listening skills of children aged 5–6 years. The current research involved 20 students from the 2022–2023 academic year as research subjects and was carried out through three action cycles, each covering the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The method used in this study combined qualitative and quantitative approaches to obtain valid and factual data regarding the development of children's listening skills. The results showed that the implementation of the storytelling method using finger puppets significantly improved the listening skills of early childhood students in Class B of Inten Sewu Kindergarten, indicated by increased attention to the teacher during storytelling, concentration on the material, the ability to recognize characters and storylines, as well as skills in answering questions and expressing the content of the story orally. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan awal yang menunjukkan rendahnya kemampuan menyimak pada 20 anak usia dini di Kelas B TK Inten Sewu yang disebabkan oleh keterbatasan fasilitas, media pembelajaran yang kurang mendukung, serta penerapan strategi pembelajaran yang belum optimal. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, peneliti merancang sebuah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas metode bercerita menggunakan boneka jari dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak anak usia 5–6 tahun. Penelitian saat ini melibatkan 20 peserta didik dari tahun ajaran 2022–2023 sebagai subjek penelitian dan dilaksanakan melalui tiga siklus tindakan yang masing-masing mencakup tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggabungkan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif guna memperoleh data yang valid dan faktual mengenai perkembangan kemampuan menyimak anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode bercerita dengan media boneka jari secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak anak usia dini di Kelas B TK Inten Sewu, terindikasi dari meningkatnya perhatian terhadap guru saat bercerita, konsentrasi terhadap materi, kemampuan mengenali tokoh dan jalan cerita, serta keterampilan dalam menjawab pertanyaan dan mengungkapkan isi cerita secara lisan.

Abstract

The high involvement of early childhoods in the use of gadgets, especially in children aged 2 to 3 years, is feared to have a negative impact on their language development. Many children are more accustomed to using gadgets than to communicating with their surroundings, which raises concern about speech delayed, insufficient vocabulary, and poor communication skills. This research is intended to gain an understanding of how patterns of use of gadgets by children and how these gadgets affest children’s language development at aged 2 to 3 years. This study utilizes qualitative methods trough a case study framework, Data were collected through in-depth interviews with parents, observations, and documentation. The study involved three children aged 2 to 3 years, each with different patterns of gadget use. These different patterns resulted in varied insights regarding the impact of gadget use on children's language development. The result of this study show that children who have used gadgets with high duration and frequency without parental assistance tend to experience problems in language development, such as speech delay, limited vocabulary, and language development. The pronunciation of sentences that are unclear and less responsive in communication. But, children who use gadgets with clear boundaries and parental guidance show more optimal language development. Gadget use affects the language development of children aged 2 to 3 years depending on the duration of use, type of content accessed, and the involvement of parents during gadget use.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of storytelling using puppet media in introducing sex education to early childhood. Sex education is important to be introduced from an early age in a simple, age-appropriate, and developmentally suitable manner so that children can understand their bodies, learn self-protection, and recognize appropriate and inappropriate touches. The background of this study is the lack of children's understanding of private body parts and the limited availability of suitable educational media to address this sensitive topic. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were Group B children at Madrasah Roudhotul Fawaid, divided into two groups: the experimental group received treatment using storytelling with puppet media, while the control group received treatment using storytelling with flash card. Data were collected through structured observation using assessment instruments covering five key aspects of basic sex education: identifying private body parts, recognizing good and bad touches, knowing whom to report to, understanding body boundaries and self-protection, and recognizing gender differences in a simple way. The results showed a significant increase in the understanding of children in the experimental group after the treatment. Statistical analysis indicated a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that storytelling using puppet media is effective in introducing sex education to early childhood. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode bercerita men ggunakan media boneka dalam mengenalkan pendidikan seks kepada anak usia dini. Pendidikan seks penting dikenalkan sejak dini secara tepat, sederhana, dan sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan anak, agar mereka dapat memahami tubuhnya, menjaga diri, serta mengetahui batasan sentuhan yang pantas dan tidak pantas. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pemahaman anak terhadap bagian tubuh pribadi dan keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dalam mengenalkan topik sensitif ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) menggunakan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah anak kelompok B Madrasah Roudhotul Fawaid yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok: kelompok eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan dengan metode bercerita menggunakan media boneka, dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi terstruktur menggunakan instrumen penilaian yang mencakup lima aspek pemahaman dasar pendidikan seks: mengenal bagian tubuh pribadi, mengenal sentuhan baik dan tidak baik, mengetahui kepada siapa harus mengadu, menjaga diri dan batas tubuh, serta mengenali perbedaan jenis kelamin secara sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman anak kelompok eksperimen setelah diberikan perlakuan. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil perhitungan statistik yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, yang berarti Ha diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode bercerita menggunakan media boneka efektif dalam mengenalkan pendidikan seks pada anak usia dini.
