Abstract

School-based management has emerged as a decentralized approach to improving the quality of education. This article explores the challenges and opportunities of implementing school-based management to enhance the quality of education. This research uses a literature review approach with data collection techniques through documentation studies, namely collecting, reading, noting, and processing relevant literature. The research findings identified vital challenges such as lack of understanding, limited resources, resistance to Change, and lack of community participation. However, school-based management also offers significant opportunities, such as program adjustments to local needs, innovative curriculum development, increased stakeholder engagement, more efficient resource management, and enhanced accountability and transparency. These findings are compared with previous research to provide new insights and a broader perspective. In conclusion, the effective implementation of school-based management requires comprehensive and sustainable efforts, including enhancing understanding, providing adequate resources, community involvement, and applying transparent and accountable management practices.

Abstract

Determining the impact, approaches, and procedures for developing, implementing, and assessing programs that can improve students' academic achievement is the purpose of this study, which is to study the relationship between parental involvement in education management and academic achievement. SMAIT Peradaban Al-Izzah in Sorong City is the objective. This study used a qualitative method based on observation of theoretical relationships. Data collection methods include observation, documentation, and interviews. Positive outcomes of parental participation include higher student achievement due to parental awareness, which considers that parents should support the teachers at school in their efforts to educate their children. As parents are considered to be the ones who know their children best, their efforts to inspire a love of learning in their children through motivational support affect their academic performance. In education management, the responsibilities of the school committee include fostering communication between the community and the school and providing ideas, support, and supervision. Schools can continue to improve academic achievement by collaborating effectively to develop programs that better suit students' needs. To achieve the overarching goal of education, parents must actively participate in their children's education, and all parties in the school must work well together.

Abstract

The laboratory is inseparable from the learning process at the Faculty of Science and Technology. Therefore, it is important to have quality standards that are a benchmark and reference in laboratory work. These quality standards include laboratory buildings/rooms, quality control, facilities and equipment, risk management, and waste disposal. Laboratories that comply with these standards have great potential to grow. This study aims to identify strategies to implement in the management and development of the Faculty of Science and Technology laboratories. This study uses a SWOT analysis method through a qualitative approach obtained from interviews with laboratory heads and workers. The SWOT analysis results show that the FST laboratory is in quadrant I, where strengths and opportunities can be utilized. The results of IFE internal factors and EFE external factors obtained a strength and opportunities (SO) value of 3.75, strength and threats (ST) of 3.55, weakness and opportunities (WO) of 3.64; and weakness and threats (WT) of 3.44 indicate a fairly good position. The data from this research can be used as a reference in designing the formulation of the right strategy for developing the Faculty of Science and Technology laboratory. The latest research significantly contributes to the potential development of science laboratories at the university level under the Ministry of Religion.

This assessment trains students to think critically, analyze, and solve problems independently. In addition, teachers can also get more accurate feedback on student learning development so that they can provide appropriate interventions. The theory of constructivism provides a solid foundation for developing HOTS-based formative assessments. These assessments measure students' learning achievements but also encourage students to think critically, creatively, and independently. By consistently implementing HOTS-based formative assessments, it can create graduates with the competencies needed to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

Education financing is a strategic factor in ensuring the success of student development programs in madrasas. However, reality shows that many state madrasas, including MTsN 2 Pamekasan, still face budget limitations and strict regulations in managing BOS funds, which directly impact the effectiveness of implementing student development programs. This research examines the management of student improvement and development financing, including planning, implementation, evaluation, management strategies, challenges, and solutions. The qualitative approach is descriptive, with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis is carried out interactively through the stages of reduction, data presentation, and verification by triangulating sources. The study results show that budget planning is carried out in a structured manner, but it is still top-down; implementation follows a multi-level proposal and verification mechanism, and evaluations tend to be administrative without the participation of students and guardians. Management strategies are based on efficiency and priority scale, but funding sources are still limited to BOS and internal contributions. The main challenges include budget limitations and the rigidity of BOS techniques. The solutions implemented include savings, postponement of activities, and voluntary participation from students and guardians. This study concludes that financing management in madrassas will be more effective if it adopts a participatory, adaptive, and contextual approach to answer the real needs of students and strengthen the sustainability of educational programs.
