Abstract

In today's competitive industrial world, qualified human resources are crucial for companies to achieve their goals. One way to achieve this is by understanding employee performance within the company. This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance, career development, and compensation on employee performance. The sample in this study consisted of 100 respondents who are employees of PT Busanaremaja Agracipta, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The data collection technique used was a survey method with the research instrument in this study being a questionnaire. The results of the instrument test stated that the data in this study was distributed abnormally, so it was necessary to change the data into Natural Logarithm (LN) form. Then, from the transformed data, a regression model was produced that was free from multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity. The results of this study prove that: (1) Work-life balance does not have a significant effect on employee performance, (2) Career development has a significant effect on employee performance, (3) Compensation has a significant effect on employee performance, (4) Work-life balance, career development and compensation have a simultaneous effect on employee performance. These results have implications for further researchers to examine work-life balance in relation to its relationship with employee performance in order to influence employee performance.

Abstract

Modernization is the change or rather the process of changing traditional society into a modern society. Modernization has the main goal of improving the welfare of the general public, by improving several socio-cultural aspects that exist in society. Our country, Indonesia is an archipelago that has around 17 thousand islands and there are still islands that do not have their identity, with as many islands as Indonesia has a population of nearly 280 million people and has a variety of ethnic and cultural diversity. Moreover, the customs or habits of each community in Indonesia must be diverse and will certainly continue to develop as the times progress. But not all follow the times, there are still some areas in Indonesia that still hold tightly to their customs to this day. One of them is found in the inland area of Lebak Regency, Banten Province. Namely the Baduy tribe, from several videos that I saw, I tried to explain the Baduy customary law and culture in detail as the community changes there due to modernization. The Baduy tribe has a lot of uniqueness that we can learn and apply in our lives. The Baduy tribe is different from the tribes in Indonesia, the Baduy tribe is very difficult to accept modernization that has developed until now, therefore the Baduy tribe is divided into two settlement groups, namely Baduy Dalam and Baduy Baduy.

Abstract

Nickel, a naturally formed metal element, has a shiny shape and a sparkling white color. On some islands in Indonesia, nickel is still abundantly found, such as in Sulawesi, which is a hub of mining industry, especially in Morowali and North Morowali. Besides, it is also found on several other islands, like Maluku North (Halmahera), Papua, and Kalimantan. In addition, total nickel exports by 2022 rose to $5.97 billion. Following the entry into force of a policy banning the export of crude nickel seeds on January 1, 2020, Indonesian nickle exports have increased. However, the EU opposed the policy and sued Indonesia to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in early 2021. Indonesia was found to have violated article X.1 of the GATT on violation of regulatory transparency obligations, article 3.1 (b) of the Subsidy Agreement and the Contract Act on Prohibited Subsidies, and article XI.1 of GATT concerning export and import bans. The aim of the filed lawsuit is to maintain the balance of international trade and encourage more environmentally friendly mining practices. However, the impact is a decrease in foreign investment in the nickel sector.

Abstract

The implementation of advertising in the Kuantan Singingi Regency involves several parties who form collaboration between parties. Organizing advertisements is a medium for promoting/introducing goods or services for entrepreneurs to influence the community in Kuantan Singingi Regency. However, many advertisements installed in Kuantan Singingi Regency still violate the applicable rules/regulations. This research aims to analyze and identify the implementation of advertising in Kuantan Singingi Regency and its obstacles. This research is a type of qualitative research that is descriptive in nature. The theory used in this research is the policy implementation model according to Thomas B. Smith (Syarief, 2019) which has four indicators, namely, idealized policy, target groups, implementing organization, and factors environment. The results of this research show that the implementation of advertising in Kuantan Singingi Regency has not been carried out in accordance with the Kuantan Singingi Regency Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2011 concerning Advertisement Tax and the Regent's Regulation of Kuantan Singingi Regency Number 46 of 2013 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2011. Obstacles faced faced in implementing this policy is that there are no workshops or technical guidance for implementers, no socialization and lack of awareness from advertising organizers.
