Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which social solidarity influences fellow microbus drivers in Tataaran II Village, Tondano Selatan District, Minahasa Regency. The research method used is qualitative research by collecting data based on direct observation and interviews with several informants and direct documentation. The general results of the research show that the sense of social solidarity among fellow microbus drivers has a derivation factor from their own nature which makes it a challenge to develop and maintain this sense of social solidarity; Some passengers were not aware of their actions which sparked disputes between microbus drivers, decreased mutual understanding of one another or lack of cooperation among microbus drivers, and attitudes of prioritizing personal interests rather than public interests.

Abstract

This research raises the problem: 1) How is the utilization of the internet as a source of learning history by students of class XI IPS MAN 1 Agam in the 2022/2023 academic year? And 2) Is there an influence of the utilization of the internet as a source of learning history on the learning motivation of students in class XI IPS MAN 1 Agam in the 2022/2023 academic year? The purpose of this research is to find out: 1) To determine the utilization of the internet as a source of learning history by students of class XI IPS MAN 1 Agam in the 2022/2023 academic year, and 2) To determine the effect of internet utilization as a source of learning history on learning motivation of students in class XI IPS MAN 1 Agam Lesson Year 2022/2023. The results obtained from this study are the utilization of the internet as a learning resource in the good enough category while student learning motivation is in the high category. From the results of regression analysis, the value of Fcount = 19.607 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05 shows that there is an effect of internet utilization as a learning resource on the learning motivation of students in class XI IPS MAN 1 Agam in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine whether the implementation of the Team Games Tournament Learning Model with box instrument media can enhance the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students in class VIII-B at SMP Plus Taruna Andalan Pangkalan Kerinci on the topic of traditional musical instrument classification. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) by Kurt Lewin, which consists of four stages to be followed: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data collection was carried out over 2 cycles using both quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. From the test results conducted, starting from the pre-cycle, Cycle I, to Cycle II, there was an improvement in the average scores of students' learning outcomes. The initial average score in the pre-cycle was around 61.68. However, in Cycle I, students' learning outcomes reached an average of approximately 74.68, indicating an improvement of 13 points from the pre-cycle. A more significant improvement was observed in Cycle II, where the average learning outcomes increased to 93.37. This indicates that the Team Games Tournament Learning Model with Box Instrument media is highly effective in enhancing understanding and mastery of the material. Students were able to achieve much better learning outcomes at the end of Cycle II, approximately 31 points higher than the pre-cycle score.

Abstract

In addition to having teaching skills in delivering learning content, teachers must also have knowledge and skills in developing technology-based learning resources for learner-centered learning. The utilization of information and communication technology that contributes to preparing 21st century learning is video-based learning media. Many research results state that the use of video media and podcast models can increase learning motivation and critical thinking of students. Critical thinking skills need to be possessed by students to equip them to live in the 21st century. Initial observation data, students who have high and very high learning motivation are only 26.09% and their critical thinking skills are only 56.32% of students with high and very high categories. The purpose of this study is to describe the results of learning innovation research in the form of using interactive video media and podcast models to increase learning motivation and critical thinking of class IX students of SMPN 1 Purwanegara. The method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Purwanegara. The population was all ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Purwanegara which amounted to 272 students. The sample in this study were students of class IX F. Learning media in the form of interactive videos and podcast models used in this learning research were made to familiarize and train students to think critically and have high learning motivation. The results of research activities are that students experience an increase in their learning motivation of 91.31% in the high and very high categories. Students have been able to follow the learning process by using interactive video media and podcast models very well. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the learning process using interactive learning videos and podcast models can increase students' learning motivation. Interactive video media and podcast models can be an alternative learning innovation that makes students more actively involved in learning activities and increases students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of multicultural education at Don Bosco High School in Padang and its impact on students' inclusive attitudes towards cultural and religious diversity. In the context of globalization, the importance of education that promotes understanding and appreciation of differences is increasingly recognized. The study also aims to analyze the implementation of multicultural values in the curriculum of Don Bosco High School Padang, evaluate students' participation in social activities reflecting multicultural values, and assess its impact on students' inclusive attitudes. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, school activity observations, and document analysis, focusing on the educational reports of the year 2023. The research findings indicate that Don Bosco High School Padang has successfully integrated multicultural values into its curriculum. Teachers play a mentoring role, guiding students in academic and personal development. Student participation in social activities reflects multicultural values, promoting intercultural dialogue. Holistic emotional support is implemented, encompassing academic, career, and personal development aspects. In conclusion, this research suggests that Don Bosco High School Padang has taken positive steps in creating an inclusive environment that encourages understanding and appreciation of cultural and religious diversity. Research recommendations include ongoing efforts to enhance tolerance and support for religious and cultural equality.

Abstract

This qualitative research study investigates mural decorations and student creativity within a school context. Specifically, the study examines the shape, pigment, and composition of mural art as essential elements. The research was conducted in 15 classrooms, with a sample of three classes selected for in-depth analysis. Data collection methods included observational techniques, detailed interviews, and visual records. Qualitative and descriptive analysis methods were applied to analyze the gathered data. The findings reveal that students’ appreciation of murals is influenced by the innovative use of figure, color, pattern, form, and design by the artists. The central concept revolves around portraying students’ character through murals, representing the principles of natural harmony in a simplified form. Notably, one recurring theme emphasizes the perception of freshness and the connection to the local environment, underscoring the importance of preserving ordinary surroundings.

Abstract

The problem that arises in learning History today is how to make History material more interesting. The current learning system is still considered conventional which causes the belief that learning History is less active. The purpose of this research is learning History in students through Lubuklinggau local history study tour activities. The method of implementation in the current learning process of History is using qualitative descriptive method. In this descriptive method, the researcher tries to describe the research carried out with appropriate reference sources. The results and discussion include: History learning in Higher Education is that current History learning continues to be improved. History learning is not only carried out by discussing textbooks, but is made as interesting as possible. History lecturers have a big responsibility in realizing this. Then the Lubuklinggau local history study tour is a tourist study activity carried out by lecturers together with students to visit historical places in Lubuklinggau City. This activity will add insight and essential knowledge for students. The History learning system will be more colorful and create a spirit of learning History for students. The conclusion is that the improvement of the History learning system can be done by lecturers with local history study tours. This activity can increase knowledge and provide valuable experience for students related to learning History, local culture and traditions. Of course, apart from being a medium for learning History directly, it is also a promotional medium in introducing valuable heritage to the wider community.

Abstract

Social Sciences (IPS) education has an important role in the educational curriculum to form a holistic understanding of society, culture, history and geography. However, the development of integrated social studies education materials is still faced with a number of challenges, such as teacher unpreparedness, lack of personality competence, and difficulties in integrating concepts from various scientific disciplines in a meaningful way for students. This study aims to investigate the process of formulating and developing integrated social studies educational materials according to Robin Fogarty's contribution and identifying effective strategies to overcome these challenges. The research method used is literature study with a qualitative approach. Data were analyzed using content and descriptive analysis methods from various relevant literature sources. The research results show that the development of integrated social studies education materials according to Robin Fogarty's contribution involves various models, such as the Cellular Model, Connected Model, Nested Model, Sequenced Model, Shared Model, Webbed Model, Threaded Model, Integrated Model, and Immersed Model. Each model provides a different approach to integrating curriculum and facilitating cross-disciplinary learning. Even though each model has its own advantages, each model also has its own limitations and challenges in implementation. The discussion highlights the importance of developing integrated social studies educational materials in developing students' holistic understanding of society and culture and preparing them to become active citizens and participants in a multicultural and global society. The challenges faced in developing this material can be overcome through strategies such as developing learning models that emphasize integration aspects, preparing interesting and relevant teaching materials, as well as training for teachers in implementing an integrated social studies learning approach effectively. It is hoped that this research can make a significant contribution to the development of more effective and relevant social studies curriculum and learning practices in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of Ago as a cultural object of the Sakai Tribe in Duri, Bengkalis Regency. explains the meaning contained in Ago as a Cultural Property and also explains the values ​​contained in Ago as a cultural object for value education for the Sakai Tribe. The research approach method was chosen to focus research so that the research results are in accordance with the research objectives and carried out scientifically. This research is field research with qualitative methods. The results of the research show that Ago is 1). Ago dimensional object made of wicker crafts, with a rectangular base and a circle on Ago's lips. 2) Ago has a practical and social function in the life of the Sakai people. 3). For the Sakai Tribe, Ago is a symbol of life and responsibility.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of the tradition of rejecting reinforcements in the Nagari Mandeh community which is still ongoing in the modern era. In addition, the people of Nagari Mandeh also believe that the empty chart is caused by the many "ubili" or evil spirits that come to the Nagari Mandeh area so that the implementation of the ceremony of rejecting reinforcements is the only (preventive) solution so that the catastrophe that occurs in their area can go away. The purpose of this study is to reveal the factors that influence the ceremony of rejecting reinforcements in the fishing community of Nagari Mandeh Tarusan, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with data collection methods in this study carried out by non-participant observation. Data were collected by observation, interview and document study techniques.In analyzing the factors that influence the ceremony of rejecting reinforcements in the fishing community of Nagari Mandeh, the researcher uses symbolic interpretive theory. The results of this study indicate that the factors that influence the resilience of repelling reinforcements can be seen from the cultural factors of the coastal community's economy and education. These two factors influence each other so that the tradition of the ceremony of rejecting reinforcements in the Nagari Mandeh community is still maintained today even though it is in the modern era.
