Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest prevalence of early marriage in Southeast Asia. The lack of knowledge among adolescent girls about the negative impacts of early marriage is a major contributing factor to the high rates of child marriage. Digital educational media, such as e-booklets, are considered effective tools to enhance adolescents' understanding. This study aims to determine the relationship between the provision of education using e-booklet media and the level of knowledge among adolescent girls regarding the risks of early marriage. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed. The subjects were 53 female students from Primbana Private Senior High School in Medan. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test. Of the 53 respondents, 30 students (56.6%) received e-booklet education, while 23 students (43.4%) did not. A significant relationship was found between e-booklet education and increased knowledge about early marriage (p = 0.049; OR = 3.630; 95% CI: 1.155–11.406). E-booklet education effectively delivers information in a visual and interactive manner, making it easier to understand. Providing education through e-booklets is effective in enhancing adolescent girls' knowledge about early marriage. Active involvement of schools and healthcare facilities is necessary to implement similar educational media sustainably.

Abstract

Sustainable village planning is a key focus in Indonesia's national development strategy. This concept aims to create a resilient, independent rural community capable of meeting the needs of the current generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This study aims to present a collaborative governance model for stakeholders in strengthening sustainable village planning discussed in the musrenbang forum, starting at the village, sub-district, district/city level and ending at the provincial level. The formulation of village planning involves various parties (government, private sector, civil society, universities, and mass media) that can provide input, outputs, and benefits for sustainable village development planning . This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Through collaborative model analysis, stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the decision-making process and its implementation. The collaborative model for village planning can achieve sustainable village development. The key to successful collaboration lies in the commitment of all parties to actively participate and synergize in the village planning process and the determination of village development priorities within the Kampar Regency village development planning forum (Musrenbang).

Abstract

This study addresses the problem of low self-esteem among students in rural madrasah, which is primarily caused by uniform instructional practices and limited attention to learners’ psychological needs. Such conditions contribute to poor self-confidence, low motivation, and weak learning engagement. The purpose of this research is to develop and examine the effectiveness of the Uniqcall Education Learning Service Management Model in improving students’ self-esteem at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Fatah Cikembang, Kertasari District, Bandung Regency. The study is theoretically based on Self-Determination Theory, Self-Efficacy Theory, and Universal Design for Learning, which emphasize autonomy, competence, relatedness, and inclusive instructional design as foundations for positive student development. The research employed a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and a standardized self-esteem questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. Quantitative analysis demonstrated a statistically significant increase in students’ self-esteem after the implementation of the Uniqcall Education model. The findings show strengthened dimensions of autonomy, competence, and social relatedness, supported by more personalized, collaborative, and technology-assisted learning services. The model successfully created meaningful learning experiences and improved student psychological well-being. This study concludes that the Uniqcall Education learning service management model is effective in enhancing self-esteem and supporting student development in madrasah contexts. The novelty lies in an integrated management model that combines psychological development principles with learner-centered services, positioning self-esteem improvement as a central outcome of educational management and offering a replicable framework for school quality improvement.

Abstract

This study examines the reform of Indonesia’s national defense management through a good governance framework, positioning institutional governance as a critical determinant of defense effectiveness. The growing complexity of multidimensional security threats requires defense systems that are not only operationally capable but also institutionally transparent, accountable, and cross-sectorally coordinated. Despite ongoing public sector reforms, the integration of good governance principles into defense management reveals a persistent gap between normative design and implementation practice.Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, this study relies on document analysis of defense policies, regulations, and governance literature. Content analysis and policy analysis are employed to assess the alignment between the principles of transparency, accountability, participation, rule of law, and policy effectiveness and the institutional practices of defense management. The findings indicate that reforms have strengthened civilian–military functional separation, strategic planning mechanisms, and formal accountability systems. However, defense governance continues to face structural constraints, including fragmented authority, weak intersectoral coordination, and limited integration between planning and implementation. At the cultural level, hierarchical organizational norms slow the adoption of participatory and transparent governance practices. The study demonstrates that the relationship between good governance and defense effectiveness is indirect and mediated by the quality of institutional management reform. Its primary contribution lies in advancing a conceptual linkage between public governance and defense sector performance while offering policy recommendations centered on institutional integration and results-based accountability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate how the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program is implemented in Higher Education. The learning process in Indonesia is currently no longer limited to the classroom or formal academic environment. The acquisition of knowledge and skills obtained for the community can be through work experience, training, and non-formal activities. The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program is designed to recognize and validate knowledge and skills obtained outside of formal education, by providing academic credits equivalent to the results of learning in the classroom. RPL serves as an important bridge for students to utilize their experiences and accelerate the completion of studies in higher education. This research method is descriptive-quantitative with 73 students as research subjects. The results showed that this RPL program received a positive response and became the choice of students in continuing their studies. Regarding the stages of the RPL program learning activities, 66.7% of newly registered students strongly agreed and 33.3% agreed that the learning activities encouraged students' curiosity because the material studied was linear with their field of work. Regarding the benefits of the RPL program, 84.2% of RPL students strongly agreed and 15.8% agreed that during the RPL program they gained a lot of new experiences and knowledge that could be implemented in their work. This RPL program contributes to workers to gain access to education, improve competency, obtain a bachelor's degree and support career plans. Thus, the implementation of RPL must be guaranteed in quality so that graduates have standardized graduate achievement quality

Abstract

Young people have experienced changes in the era of modern societal development. Most rural residents perceive that agricultural work is no longer attractive, so many young people choose jobs outside the agricultural sector. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital media utilization, environmental support, and family characteristics on Generation Z’s lifestyle and interest in horticultural farming. Data collected include primary and secondary data through interviews using questionnaires. Data was processed and analyzed using scores, Linear Regression, and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The structural model analysis using PLS-SEM revealed several significant relationships. The path coefficient for digital media utilization on Generation Z’s lifestyle is 0.083 with a t-statistic of 2.877 (p = 0.004), indicating significance. However, the influence of social media on interest in horticultural farming is not significant (p = 0.328). Environmental support and family characteristics also significantly affect Generation Z’s lifestyle and interest in farming. R-Square (R²) for lifestyle is 0.799, indicating that 79.9% of lifestyle variation is explained by the exogenous variables. For interest in horticultural farming, the R² value is 0.717, meaning 71.7% of the interest variation is influenced by the factors in the model. The Q-Square (Q²) values for both variables are 0.610 and 0.611, indicating the model has good predictive power. These results highlight the significant role of family factors and lifestyle in Generation Z’s interest in horticultural farming.

Abstract

Disaster mitigation efforts in Indonesia often emphasize structural approaches, while disaster education strategies are frequently implemented without adequate consideration of regional vulnerability variations. This study addresses the problem of the mismatch between disaster education implementation and local vulnerability characteristics in Demak Regency. The study aims to formulate a disaster education strategy based on regional vulnerability data to strengthen community resilience. The analysis focuses on differences in vulnerability levels among sub-districts, the suitability of existing disaster education programs particularly the Satuan Pendidikan Aman Bencana (SPAB) and the mitigation efforts undertaken by the local government. Based on disaster risk reduction theory, community-based disaster education concepts, policy document analysis, and local catastrophe reports, this study uses a descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach, utilizing Z-score analysis to evaluate vulnerability levels across 14 sub-districts. The results show that Karangawen and Mranggen sub-districts are categorized as highly risky locations; however, these spatial risk disparities have not been adequately represented in the implementation of disaster education programs. Additionally, mitigation initiatives are still mostly structural in nature and do not incorporate area-based teaching methods. According to the study's findings, disaster education in Demak Regency has to be more closely matched to the vulnerability profiles of the area. As a novelty, this research demonstrates the importance of integrating quantitative vulnerability data into disaster education planning and practice, offering an evidence-based framework for developing adaptive and sustainable disaster education strategies at the local level.

Abstract

Healthcare accessibility is a central pillar of Universal Health Coverage (UHC), yet spatial inequities persist in many coastal and semi-rural regions due to uneven facility distribution, limited transport connectivity, and infrastructural vulnerability. This study evaluates the spatial accessibility of primary healthcare services in Pantai Labu Subdistrict, North Sumatra, Indonesia, using an integrated Geographic Information System (GIS) framework. The analysis combines Euclidean buffer analysis, road proximity assessment, and network-based accessibility modeling to capture both theoretical and functional dimensions of access. Results reveal pronounced central–peripheral disparities: while most settlements fall within the administrative service radius of the main Puskesmas and its auxiliary Puskesmas Pembantu (Pustu), effective accessibility remains constrained in coastal and inland fringe areas due to weak road connectivity and linear transport dependence. The inclusion of Pustu facilities reduces distance-based gaps; however, functional limitations, particularly the uneven implementation of Integrated Primary Care (ILP) undermine service utilization in several spatially accessible locations. Network analysis further demonstrates that buffer-based methods systematically overestimate accessibility, failing to account for indirect routing, corridor dependence, and cross-boundary healthcare use. Underserved settlements persist where distance, road isolation, and limited service capacity converge, forming localized access deserts despite formal coverage compliance. The study concludes that equitable healthcare access in coastal semi-rural settings requires integrated planning that aligns facility functionality with resilient transport infrastructure. The proposed GIS-based framework offers a replicable, policy-relevant tool for identifying priority intervention zones and supporting spatially targeted strategies to advance UHC in vulnerable regions.
