Abstract

  The takir tradition in Mulyosari village, Gedangan subdistrict, Malang district, is a Javanese tradition that is used at various traditional events such as celebrations, weddings, thanksgiving and so on. This research aims to describe the history of Mulyosari village, the symbolic meaning of the contents of the takir tradition, the cultural values ??contained in the takir tradition, and the role of the takir tradition in maintaining cultural preservation. The research location is in Mulyosari village, Gedangan subdistrict, Malang district. The research subjects used were resource persons or caretakers of the takir tradition in Mulyosari village, Gedangan subdistrict, Malang district. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method with field research. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, documentation techniques and recording. The results of the research show that the takir tradition has various kinds of fillings including tumpeng combined with (side dishes), jenang abang and white jenang, telon flowers which include (roses, kenanga, pure white kanthil flowers), cok bakal which includes (young coconut, eggs, money), spices which include (shallots, garlic, chili, ginger, turmeric, laos, pepper, coriander, black pangium), kinangan which includes (betel, lime, gambier, jambe), teak leaves and two comb bananas. Each of the various traditional takir fillings has its own meaning as a symbol aimed at the good of society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Reading Guide method in improving the memory of slow learners who have difficulty reading. The scope of the study includes the characteristics of slow learners, the learning process, and the supporting and inhibiting factors of this method. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with secondary data from the YouTube Channel video "Belajar Peduli" which documented the learning of slow learners using the Reading Guide method. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results showed that slow learners took longer to remember, had short concentration, had difficulty understanding complex processes, and needed a gradual approach. The Reading Guide method effectively improved memory through structured stages (pre-reading, during-reading, post-reading), repetition of information, and visual strategies. Interesting facts show the importance of teacher involvement and interactive materials. This study recommends development methods through teacher training, technology integration, and school-parent collaboration.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the harmony of speech between the speaker and the interlocutor in the podcast "Heaven is only for Muslims, non-Muslims. How are you?" based on relevance theory. This study focuses on how communication in podcasts creates optimal relevance, especially in interfaith discussions. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with note-taking techniques. Primary data is in the form of transcripts of conversations in podcasts, while secondary data comes from supporting literature, such as books and scientific articles. Data analysis was carried out using Miles and Huberman's interactive approach, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the questions and answers in the podcast comply with the principle of relevance with a high level of efficiency, producing meaningful cognitive effects. Habib Ja'far, as the main speaker, was able to deliver relevant, direct and meaningful answers in explaining Islamic theological concepts, such as God's justice, destiny and salvation in the afterlife. These findings emphasize the importance of relevance theory in creating effective communication, especially in sensitive discussions regarding interreligious beliefs. This research contributes to pragmatic studies, especially conversation analysis based on digital media such as podcasts.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of scrapbook media on students' skills in writing poetry at SMA 1 Simanjaya Sekaran. This research is quantitative research, this research focuses on students' skills in writing poetry. Research data was taken in June 2024. The type of research used was an experiment with a quantitative approach, where the resulting data will be in the form of numbers. From the data obtained, analysis was carried out using SPSS software. The research design used was a Quasi Experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design, there was a significant influence on providing treatment in the form of using scrapbook media on student learning outcomes in the poetry writing skills material at SMA 1 Simanjaya. Data was collected using test sheets as many as 43 students took the pretest and posttest, targeting students in class XI 1 and XI 2, SMA 1 Simanjaya, Siman Village, Kec. Now District Lamongan. The research data was then calculated using SPSS 16 to determine whether the data taken from one class had an effect on students or not. The results of the first research use pre-test data and the results of the second research use post-test data. From this data, researchers can conclude whether the results obtained from students' skills in writing poetry using scrapbook media

Abstract

This research aims to describe the understanding and obstacles faced by hearing-impaired individuals in foreign language learning, particularly English, within the field of psycholinguistics. The subject of this research is a hearing-impaired student named Nazwa Aprilia at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative with techniques such as interviews, documentation, and observation. The results of this study show the problems faced by hearing-impaired individuals in learning foreign languages from several perspectives, namely 1) objectives; 2) learners; 3) teachers; and 4) environmental factors. The environmental factor is the most influential indicator in foreign language learning for hearing-impaired individuals. In line with that, the researchers recommend practical solutions to minimize the difficulties.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze punctuation errors in students' academic papers with the help of artificial intelligence, using ChatGPT as an evaluation tool. The scope of this research focuses on the identification and classification of punctuation errors, such as the use of commas, periods, and capital letters, which are often found in students' academic papers. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a content analysis method, in which data in the form of texts of student papers are analyzed using the automatic correction model of ChatGPT. The analysis is carried out by comparing the ChatGPT correction results with writing rules based on the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling (PUEBI). Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version) The research data model consists of samples of student papers covering various disciplines, with variations in sentence structure complexity to ensure diversity of findings. The results show that the most dominant punctuation errors are the improper use of commas in compound sentences and lists, as well as the improper use of capital letters in proper names and certain terms. An interesting fact found was that ChatGPT was able to provide fast and accurate corrections in most cases, but had limitations in understanding the context of ambiguous or creative sentences. This research confirms that artificial intelligence can be an effective tool in improving students' writing skills while supporting the writing process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the form of use of character education values ??of the main characters in the novel Brianna and Bottomwise by Andrea Hirata. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research type. The data source used in this study comes from the novel Brianna and Bottomwise by Andrea Hirata, namely the character education values ??of the main characters in the novel. The researcher's data collection procedure uses the Simak Catat technique. The findings of this study indicate that the form of character education values ??in the novel Brianna and Bottomwise by Andrea Hirata contains eight values ??found in the characters of the main characters. These character education values ??are honesty, gratitude, hard work or perseverance, wisdom, courage, independence, optimism and caring.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of implementing newspaper reading activities before learning in improving the reading and writing skills of junior high school students. Newspaper reading activities were chosen as an intervention because of their potential in providing reading materials that are actual, diverse, and relevant to students' daily lives. This study used mixed methods, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data were collected through reading and writing ability tests before and after the intervention, while qualitative data were obtained through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study showed the Effectiveness of Newspaper Reading Activities, Newspaper reading activities before learning have proven effective in improving the reading and writing skills of junior high school students. This is supported by a significant increase in the results of reading and writing ability tests, as well as an increase in the quality of students' writing. Increasing Reading Interest and Motivation, Newspaper reading activities can increase students' reading interest and motivation. Current and diverse reading materials provide opportunities for students to learn about issues that are relevant to their lives, thereby increasing their interest in reading activities. Developing Critical Thinking Skills: Newspaper reading activities encourage students to think critically and convey ideas in writing. Analysis and discussion of issues raised in newspapers helps students to develop their critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze microfiction published on the Instagram account Fiksimini.id using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory approach. Microfiction, as a form of modern literary work with a limited number of words, stores complex meanings through symbols and signs. This study identifies the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings contained in microfiction to understand how this narrative reflects social, political, and cultural realities. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and content analysis. The results of the analysis show that microfiction on Fiksimini.id not only conveys messages directly, but also contains in-depth social criticism of various contemporary issues. This study is expected to contribute to the development of semiotic studies and understanding of microfiction as a medium for representing ideology in literary communication.

Abstract

@kata.cerdas account using a descriptive qualitative approach. The main focus is identifying sentence types simple, compound, and complex as well as syntactic elements such as subject, predicate, object, complement, and adverbial, which are used to convey motivational messages effectively. Data were purposively collected from captions posted between 2023 and 2024, covering various themes such as life reflection, motivation, and inspirational quotes. The findings reveal that the sentence structures used exhibit unique characteristics that highlight clarity, emotional closeness, and high communicative effectiveness. Complex sentences are predominantly used to deliver reflective messages, while simple sentences are preferred for short affirmations. This study contributes to digital linguistic studies and offers an effective communication model that can be adopted by motivational content creators. Social media is positioned not merely as a visual platform but as a strategic space for building personal interaction through appropriate language choices. Therefore, selecting the right sentence structure plays a crucial role in enhancing message appeal and increasing audience engagement in dynamic and interactive digital communication.
