Abstract

Management of injuries and dislocations in primary healthcare facilities requires appropriate healthcare skills to prevent complications. This study aims to describe the implementation of observation, interviews, and simulation in handling injuries and dislocations at Maukeli Community Health Center (Puskesmas Maukeli). This research used a qualitative descriptive method with healthcare workers directly involved in emergency care as the subjects. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and simulation of dislocation management. The results showed that healthcare workers were able to recognize the clinical signs of dislocation, carry out initial management systematically, perform immobilization according to indications, and determine hospital referrals for high-risk patients. Patient follow-up, including neurovascular evaluation, repeat radiological examination, patient education, and physiotherapy programs, was also implemented to support joint function recovery. In conclusion, Puskesmas Maukeli is capable of providing effective initial management for dislocation cases, even though such cases are relatively rare. These findings demonstrate the readiness of both facilities and healthcare personnel in managing acute injuries at the primary care level.

Abstract

Students’ mental well-being is an essential aspect in supporting academic success and psychological development during emerging adulthood. Good mental well-being enables students to manage stress effectively, maintain emotional stability, and adapt positively to academic and social demands. One of the factors that influences students’ mental well-being is the quality of parental communication and support. Open, empathetic, and supportive communication can serve as an important source of emotional support for students in dealing with various pressures during their academic life. This study aims to examine the relationship between parental communication and students’ mental well-being. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was applied using a survey method. The participants consisted of 59 active students from the Psychology Department of Pasim National College, all of whom were included through a census sampling technique. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires that had met validity and reliability criteria. Correlational analysis was conducted to identify the relationship between parental communication and students’ mental well-being. The findings indicate a significant relationship between the two variables. Students who experience positive parental communication tend to demonstrate better mental well-being, as reflected in effective stress management, emotional stability, and resilience in coping with academic pressures. In contrast, high parental expectations that are not accompanied by effective and supportive communication may increase psychological stress. These findings highlight the importance of parental communication and emotional support within the family as key factors in promoting students’ mental well-being.

Abstract

Rapid developments in digital technology have contributed to major transformations in education, particularly regarding students’ learning behaviors. learning patterns. One of the impacts of this development One consequence of technological advancements is the rising frequency of online gaming among university students. Such games serve as readily available and favored entertainment options, yet overuse can interfere with students' focus on learning, effective time allocation, and overall academic achievements. This research seeks to investigate the effects of online gaming intensity on students' academic performance, drawing from prior studies. The methodology adopted is a literature review utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were gathered by examining diverse scholarly articles, both national and international journals, and pertinent literature that address online gaming intensity and its relation to academic outcomes in university settings. The findings reveal that elevated levels of online gaming typically exert adverse influences on academic performance, evidenced by diminished concentration during study, reduced academic motivation, impaired time management abilities, and increased instances of academic procrastination. Conversely, when engaged in at moderate and regulated levels, online games can offer beneficial effects as sources of recreation and stress alleviation. Ultimately, the influence of online gaming on academic success hinges on students' capacity to balance time, regulate gaming habits, and prioritize scholarly commitments.

Abstract

Empathy is a fundamental skill that plays a role in supporting healthy social interactions, psychological well-being, and the creation of a positive academic climate in higher education environments. In the context of higher education, empathy contributes to improving the quality of interpersonal relationships, social awareness, and the ability to understand other people's perspectives. One approach that can be used to develop empathy is film therapy, which is the use of audiovisual media as a means of cognitive and affective reflection. This study aims to examine the effect of film therapy on students' empathy levels using the short film Indifferent as the intervention medium. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method and a pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 27 active students who participated in the entire research process. Empathy was measured twice, before and after the film screening, using a five-point Likert scale empathy questionnaire. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to determine the difference in empathy levels before and after the intervention. The results of the analysis showed an increase in empathy scores among students after participating in film therapy, although the increase did not reach statistical significance. These findings indicate that film therapy has a moderate effect in increasing empathic awareness through emotional involvement and self-reflection processes. In conclusion, film therapy has the potential to be used as an affective learning medium and alternative intervention in higher education and guidance and counseling services, although further research with a larger number of subjects and longer intervention duration is needed.
