Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in instilling discipline character values in children at TK IT Al-Kiswah, Bengkulu City. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with research subjects comprising class teachers, the principal, and Group B students. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity was established through source and technique triangulation, and analysis followed the Miles and Huberman interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that teachers at TK IT Al-Kiswah have carried out five comprehensive roles in instilling discipline character values: (1) as a role model (uswah hasanah) by demonstrating disciplined behavior in daily learning; (2) as a guide in forming disciplined habits through consistent daily routines; (3) as a motivator providing positive reinforcement for disciplined behavior; (4) as an evaluator continuously monitoring character development; and (5) as a facilitator of a conducive learning environment for discipline formation. Discipline character values were instilled through habituation, exemplary behavior, moral guidance, and integrated supervision within daily learning activities. The findings carry significant implications for the development of character education programs in Islamic early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

The increasing accumulation of plastic waste has become an environmental challenge that requires educational efforts to build ecological awareness and moral responsibility. This study aims to examine the internalization of gratitude to Allah and environmental stewardship through plastic waste recycling activities among students of SD Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu from the perspective of Islamic ecotheology. This study employed a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving principals, teachers, and students. The findings indicate that plastic waste recycling activities serve as an effective medium for integrating environmental education with Islamic values. Students developed an understanding that environmental preservation represents gratitude to Allah and responsibility for safeguarding natural resources entrusted to humanity. These activities also promoted discipline, cooperation, creativity, and ecological awareness. Overall, the study concludes that plastic waste recycling can strengthen both environmental consciousness and Islamic character formation through value-based educational practices.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the revitalization of religious understanding among elementary school students through TPQ activities at An-Nur Mosque, Padang Tekurung IV, Betungan Subdistrict, Bengkulu City. This study employed a qualitative descriptive research design to examine the implementation of religious educational activities conducted within the mosque environment. Research participants consisted of mosque administrators, TPQ teachers, parents, and elementary school students involved in TPQ activities. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicated that TPQ activities contributed positively to strengthening students’ religious understanding through Qur’an reading instruction, worship practices, and moral education activities. Educational programs implemented through TPQ also increased students’ participation, learning enthusiasm, and religious awareness. Positive changes were observed in students’ discipline, responsibility, and religious behavior during learning activities. Support from teachers, parents, and community members played an important role in maintaining the continuity and effectiveness of the educational programs. The study concludes that mosque-based educational activities can become effective strategies for strengthening religious understanding and developing religious character among elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the role of parents in motivating children to participate in Qur'anic learning activities at TPQ An-Nur, Padang Tekurung IV, Betungan Subdistrict, Bengkulu City. The study employed a qualitative descriptive research design to explore parental involvement and factors influencing children's participation in religious learning activities. Research participants consisted of parents, TPQ teachers, mosque administrators, and elementary school students involved in TPQ activities. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicated that parents played important roles through emotional support, supervision, guidance, motivation, and educational assistance that encouraged children to participate actively in Qur'anic learning activities. Children's participation was also influenced by several supporting and inhibiting factors, including family support, learning motivation, teacher involvement, peer relationships, learning environments, educational facilities, and technological influences. Positive parental involvement contributed to increasing children's enthusiasm, discipline, and participation in learning activities. The study concludes that active parental roles and supportive educational environments are important factors in strengthening children's participation in Qur'anic learning activities and improving religious learning development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of Islamic guidance and counseling contained in Surah At-Tahrim verse 6 and its relevance to the moral development of adolescents. This study uses a library research method by collecting data from various literary sources such as the Qur'an, tafsir books, books, and scientific journals related to Islamic guidance and counseling and the moral development of adolescents. The data collection technique is carried out through documentation, while the data analysis uses content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that Surah At-Tahrim verse 6 contains the concept of Islamic guidance and counseling which includes the responsibility of education, direction and advice, supervision, and role models. These concepts have an important role in the moral development of adolescents because they can help shape the character of faith, piety, and noble character. In addition, the verse emphasizes that the family, especially parents, have the primary responsibility in guiding and protecting adolescents from various behaviors that deviate from Islamic teachings. Thus, the concept of Islamic guidance and counseling in Surah At-Tahrim verse 6 can be used as a basis for efforts to develop adolescent morals in the family and educational environment.

Abstract

The development of assisted reproductive technologies, particularly in vitro fertilization (IVF), offers hope for infertile couples to have children. However, this advancement also raises ethical issues concerning human intervention in the reproductive process, lineage status, human dignity, and the legitimacy of its use in Islam. Previous studies have generally examined reproductive technologies from the perspectives of fiqh law, maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, or medical bioethics in a partial manner. Nevertheless, there remains limited research that specifically integrates the concept of Tawhid as a medical ethics paradigm through the relationship between faith, knowledge, and action in analyzing modern reproductive technologies. This gap forms the basis of the present study. This research aims to analyze the role of Tawhid as a foundation of medical ethics and to explain the relationship between faith, knowledge, and action as a framework of Islamic bioethics in responding to developments in assisted reproductive technologies. The study employs a library research method with a normative-philosophical approach and a conceptual research design. Data were obtained from 25 sources consisting of scientific articles, fatwas issued by Islamic institutions, and literature related to Islamic bioethics, infertility, IVF, gamete donation, surrogate motherhood, maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, and Islamic medical ethics published during the 2021–2026 period. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through the identification, categorization, interpretation, and synthesis of Islamic bioethical concepts. The findings indicate that Tawhid functions as an ontological, epistemological, and axiological foundation in Islamic medical ethics. The relationship between faith, knowledge, and action serves as a regulatory mechanism to ensure that the use of reproductive technologies remains consistent with Sharia values. IVF is permissible when it uses sperm and ova from a legally married husband and wife without the involvement of a third party. In contrast, gamete donation and surrogate motherhood are rejected because they have the potential to compromise lineage and conflict with the principle of hifẓ al-nasl (preservation of lineage). This study produces a conceptual model of Tawhid-based reproductive bioethics as a guideline for ethical decision-making in contemporary medical practice.

Abstract

This study examines the communication strategies implemented by Radio Start FM Panyabungan to enhance the appeal of its Islamic religious programs, particularly the Ramadhan Berkah program. The program is held during the month of Ramadan as a means of conveying religious messages and spiritual guidance to the community through radio. The study employed qualitative methods with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants in this study consisted of broadcasters, program producers, and active listeners. The data obtained were then analyzed to determine the communication strategies used in program implementation. The results indicate that the success of the Ramadhan Berkah program is supported by several communication strategies, including presenting material that is appropriate to the community's needs, using simple and easy-to-understand language, involving resource persons with religious competence, and utilizing social media and direct interaction with listeners during the broadcast. In addition, determining the broadcast schedule to coincide with important times during Ramadan, such as before breaking the fast and during the pre-dawn meal, also increases public interest in listening to the program. The findings of this study demonstrate that the implementation of appropriate communication strategies can increase listener interest in Islamic religious broadcasts while strengthening the role of radio as a medium for disseminating Islamic values that is adaptive to the development of digital technology. It is hoped that this research can be used as a consideration for broadcasting institutions in developing more effective and popular Islamic preaching programs.

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic education faces the challenge of balancing academic knowledge with moral and spiritual values in learners’ development. This study aims to analyze the concept of learning and instruction from the perspective of Abū Ḥāmid al-Ghazālī and to identify its relevance to contemporary Islamic educational practices. The main issue addressed is how to integrate al-Ghazālī’s principles into modern Islamic education, which tends to emphasize cognitive aspects without neglecting moral and spiritual dimensions. The research method employed is a literature review, analyzing al-Ghazālī’s classical works as well as relevant academic articles and journals on contemporary Islamic education. The findings indicate that al-Ghazālī’s educational concept, which emphasizes the balance between worldly (dunyāwī) and otherworldly (ukhrawī) knowledge, can be implemented within a holistic Islamic education design. The study produces a conceptual synthesis in the form of an al-Ghazālī-based holistic learning model consisting of spiritual objectives, integration of knowledge and faith, student ethics, teacher exemplarity, reflective learning, and character-based evaluation. The implications of this study highlight the necessity of curriculum reform in Islamic education that integrates moral and spiritual values with ethically grounded educational technology, as well as strengthening the role of teachers as both intellectual and spiritual mentors in the learning process. This study offers a conceptual framework for transforming al-Ghazālī’s thought into contemporary Islamic educational design oriented toward intellectual, moral, and spiritual balance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the edutainment method in improving early childhood children's Qur'an memorization ability at TK IT Al Kiswah Bengkulu City. This research was motivated by the low ability of children to memorize the Qur'an, which was indicated by low concentration, low learning motivation, and the use of monotonous learning methods. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of 42 children in Group B, comprising 21 children in the experimental group and 21 children in the control group. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26 through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed that the experimental group's pretest mean score was 48.76, while the control group's was 47.89. After the treatment, the experimental group's posttest mean score increased to 87.14, whereas the control group's score increased to 72.95. The hypothesis test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Therefore, the edutainment method was proven effective in improving early childhood children's Qur'an memorization ability at TK IT Al Kiswah Bengkulu City. The edutainment method was able to create a fun learning atmosphere and improve children's concentration, motivation, active participation, and memory during the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode hafalan dalam meningkatkan daya ingat siswa pada mata pelajaran Al-Qur'an dan Hadits di YPI El-Syarief. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian lapangan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari satu guru Al-Qur'an dan Hadits dan 10 siswa yang dipilih dari total 40 siswa dalam satu kelas. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data melibatkan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan triangulasi digunakan untuk memastikan validitas data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode hafalan, yang dilakukan melalui pengulangan, hafalan yang telah dibaca (recitation), dan pengulangan terus-menerus (muroja'ah), efektif dalam meningkatkan daya ingat siswa dalam hal kelancaran, ketepatan, dan retensi. Efektivitas metode ini didukung oleh peran aktif guru dalam memberikan bimbingan, motivasi, dan evaluasi, serta lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Namun, beberapa tantangan teridentifikasi, termasuk perbedaan kemampuan daya ingat siswa, kebosanan, dan kurangnya konsistensi dalam mengulang materi yang telah dihafal. Kesimpulannya, metode menghafal merupakan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan daya ingat siswa dalam mata pelajaran Al-Qur'an dan Hadits, sekaligus berkontribusi pada pengembangan disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan kebiasaan belajar yang positif. Oleh karena itu, metode ini perlu dikembangkan lebih lanjut melalui pendekatan yang lebih beragam dan adaptif sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa.
