Abstract

The role of teacher competence in the education system is a major pillar in character formation, knowledge enhancement, and the development of a competent young generation. Amid the dynamic changes in the world of education, the role of teachers holds a very crucial position in guiding students to achieve good academic performance and shape good character as well. One of the primary roles of teachers is developing pedagogical competence to improve learning discipline. This study was motivated by the observation that students’ critical thinking skills are influenced by teachers’ pedagogical competence in classroom teaching, aiming to measure the extent of teacher competence’s influence on the critical thinking skills of students at SMK Daarul Uluum, Karet Kuningan, South Jakarta. The sample consisted of 30 students, and the study employed a descriptive analytical correlational method. By analyzing the data using the product moment correlation, the results show that the product moment coefficient (r_xy or r_o) is 0.225. This indicates that r_o is lower than r_t at a significant level of 5% (0.367) and at a significant level of 1% (0.470). Thus, since r_o < r_t at both significance levels, the null hypothesis is accepted, while the alternative hypothesis is rejected, meaning that there is a low influence of teacher competence on the critical thinking skills of students at SMK Daarul Uluum, South Jakarta.

Abstract

The phenomenon of moral crisis among Indonesian children and adolescents indicates a weakness in character education, especially in the family environment. Education that emphasizes academic aspects too much without instilling spiritual and moral values impacts the fading of children's manners and behavior. In fact, Islam, through the Qur'an, provides in-depth guidelines on how to educate children, one of which is through the story of Luqman's advice to his son. This research aims to examine and explore the values of education in Surah Luqman verses 13, 14, 16, 18, and 19 as a conceptual basis for shaping the character of children who are monotheistic, moral, and responsible. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data were collected from classical and contemporary tafsir books as well as scientific journals from Google Scholar and Neliti. The results of the study show that Luqman's advice includes five main values, namely monotheism, birrul walidain, awareness of Allah's supervision, humility, and social manners. These values form an integrative and applicable educational framework to be applied in today's Muslim families. By understanding and applying these values, parents are expected to be able to form a strong generation in morals and spirituality.

Abstract

Notaries play a critical role in ensuring agreements are made freely and without coercion, yet cases arise where one party exploits another’s vulnerable economic, social, or psychological state, leading to unfair clauses. This article aims to analyze the legal responsibility of notaries for the abuse of circumstances in the making of land Sale and Purchase Binding Agreement (PPJB) deeds. The issue focuses on the role of the notary when one of the parties to the agreement is in a desperate or unbalanced condition, which has the potential to be exploited unfairly by the other party. To approach this problem, the theories of legal responsibility and defect of will are referenced. Data were collected through literature studies, laws and regulations, court decisions, and interviews with notaries, then analyzed qualitatively using a normative juridical approach. This study concludes that notaries are responsible not only administratively but also substantively in ensuring the free will of the parties. If proven negligent and there is an abuse of the situation, the notary can be held legally liable in civil terms or subject to ethical sanctions. Additionally, PPJB deeds made under unbalanced conditions can be annulled by the court on the basis of defect of will. This research emphasizes the importance of increasing notary sensitivity and professionalism to prevent abusive practices in the making of deeds.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of the 8P digital marketing mix (Product, Price, Promotion, Place, People, Process, Physical Evidence, Productivity and Quality) on consumer purchase intention for Bvlgari luxury perfumes using binary logistic regression analysis. Data were collected via a Qualtrics survey from 88 respondents in Indonesia. The analysis revealed that among the 8P elements, Price, Public Figures (Promotion/People), and Product Collaboration significantly impacted purchase intention. Price and Public Figures had the strongest positive effects, increasing purchase likelihood by 3.8 and 4.8 times, respectively, aligning with theories of conspicuous consumption and aspirational influence. Conversely, Product Collaboration showed a significant negative effect, reducing purchase intention by 74%, suggesting potential brand dilution risks. Other elements, such as scent preferences and bottle design, were statistically insignificant. The logistic regression model achieved 68.2% overall accuracy, excelling in predicting intent-to-buy (91.7%) but underperforming for non-buyers (17.9%). These findings highlight the importance of premium pricing and influencer partnerships in luxury perfume marketing while cautioning against collaborations that may undermine brand exclusivity. The research provides actionable insights for Bvlgari to refine its digital strategy, emphasizing immersive, trust-driven experiences to offset the limitations of online sensory engagement.

Abstract

Collagen synthesis plays an important role in tissue regeneration and the skin aging process. This process can be disrupted by oxidative stress as well as increased expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Papaya (Carica papaya L.) leaf extract contains bioactive compounds such as quercetin, vitamin C, and papain, which have the potential to stimulate collagen synthesis. The aim of this review was to analyze experimental evidence related to the effects of papaya leaf extract on collagen synthesis through molecular and histological approaches. Literature searches were conducted through PubMed, Google Scholar, and MDPI databases using the keywords “papaya leaf extract,” Carica papaya, “collagen,” and “photoaging.” Five articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. Papaya leaf extract has been shown to lower ROS levels, suppress MMP expression, and activate the TGF-β pathway. Histological results demonstrated increased expression of type I collagen and accelerated wound healing in animal models. The potential of papaya leaf extract as a topical anti-aging agent and regenerative therapy is considered promising. However, further research is needed to determine the optimal dose and evaluate long-term safety.

Abstract

Cervical cancer remains a major global health concern, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where barriers such as limited healthcare access, cultural stigma, and logistical challenges hinder routine screening. Human papillomavirus (HPV) self-sampling has emerged as a promising alternative to clinician-collected sampling, offering the potential to improve screening coverage and reduce the burden of cervical cancer. This scoping review aims to synthesize current evidence on the feasibility, effectiveness, and acceptability of HPV self-sampling, with a focus on its impact on screening uptake, psychological outcomes, and diagnostic accuracy. Following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines, a systematic search was conducted across PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus, resulting in the inclusion of five studies: four randomized controlled trials and one umbrella review. Findings indicate that self-sampling reduces anxiety associated with cervical screening, improves participation among underserved populations, and demonstrates high diagnostic concordance with clinician-collected samples. Behavioral interventions, such as pay-it-forward models, show potential to enhance sample return and feedback rates. However, challenges remain regarding effective triage strategies for HPV-positive cases, especially in resource-limited settings. The review supports the integration of self-sampling into national screening programs, emphasizing the need for culturally tailored approaches and continued research on cost-effective triage methods.

Abstract

Labor pain is a physiological response experienced by mothers before the birth process. The level of pain felt can vary between mothers and may even differ in the same mother during each labor process. This study aims to determine the effect of Bladder (BL) 32 acupressure point on reducing labor pain intensity during the active phase of the first stage in laboring women in TPMB A area, Purwakarta Regency in 2024. This research used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 32 respondents assessed before and after the intervention. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instrument used to measure pain was the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that labor pain intensity before the intervention had a mean of 7.28, while labor pain intensity after the intervention had a mean of 5.41, resulting in a mean reduction of 1.88. The p-value obtained was 0.000 (p<0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the BL32 acupressure point on reducing labor pain intensity during the active phase of the first stage in laboring women in TPMB A area, Purwakarta Regency, in 2024. The implication of this research is that midwives should perform BL32 acupressure to reduce pain during labor.

Abstract

Breast milk is essential for infant health, yet many postpartum mothers face challenges in milk production. This study examines the effect of Sauropus androgynus (katuk leaves) on breast milk adequacy among postpartum mothers in Village C, Purwakarta Regency, Indonesia, in 2024. Using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, 36 respondents were assessed before and after consuming katuk leaves. Results showed that 58.3% of mothers experienced increased milk production post-intervention, with the highest improvement observed in multipara mothers (69.5%) and those aged 20–35 years (58.3%). Additionally, 80.5% of mothers breastfeeding more than eight times daily reported abundant milk. The Wilcoxon test confirmed the intervention's significance (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Findings align with prior research highlighting katuk leaves' efficacy due to their alkaloids, sterols, and nutrient content. The study concludes that regular consumption of katuk leaves enhances milk production, supporting its use as a natural lactation aid. Implications include promoting katuk leaves in maternal health programs to improve breastfeeding rates and infant nutrition.

Abstract

The historical relationship between indigenous communities and their environment exemplifies sustainable coexistence, yet this balance is increasingly threatened by population growth and environmental degradation. This study examines the carrying capacity of the Wana tribe’s land in the Morowali Nature Reserve, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, to assess its ability to support current and future populations while preserving ecological integrity. Using a mixed-methods approach, we combined geospatial analysis (ArcGIS) with ethnographic data to evaluate habitable land areas, accounting for slope constraints (0–15%) and the tribe’s customary land-use practices. Results revealed that the Wana tribe currently occupies only 955.3 hectares of the 4,660-hectare reserve, with a per-capita allocation of 2.07 hectares—five times the WHO minimum standard. However, projections indicate that the carrying capacity will be exceeded if the population reaches 2,274 individuals, risking resource depletion and ecosystem disruption. The study highlights the Wana’s sustainable practices, such as fallow periods and spiritual land protections, as vital to maintaining this equilibrium. These findings underscore the urgency of integrating indigenous knowledge into conservation policies to safeguard both cultural and environmental sustainability. By quantifying carrying capacity in a protected indigenous area, this research provides a replicable framework for similar contexts and advocates for policy support to mitigate future risks.
