Abstract

Mamasa’s traditional house, banua sura’, is characteristically built with beautiful and exquisite carvings, apart the building design. It appears in animal images in the form of buffaloes and horses carved based on natural materials, traditional tools, and creative and skilled specialized carvers. The carvings are not mere decoration; there are cultural symbols in the buffalo and horse carvings. The researcher introduced an indigenous Mamasa house through an investigation of the relationship between animal carvings and cultural symbols on the banua sura’ in Orobua village. The purpose of this research was explicitly to explore a Mamasa traditional house as an alternative to cultural tourism development in the Toraja tribal region. The researcher used a qualitative method with a realist ethnographic approach. The researcher collected data using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The researcher determined the participant based on the purposive sampling technique. The researcher found that the relationship between animal carvings and cultural symbols on banua sura’ refers to the meaning of buffaloes and horses. Buffalo carvings are cultural symbols of courage and honor, while horse carvings are cultural symbols of strength. Such unique and original traditional houses can attract the attention of tourists. Ultimately, it implies opportunities and potential for the development of cultural tourism

Sources of data collection in this study used primary sources in the form of questionnaires and secondary sources such as journals, books, and related articles. In this study, data analysis was carried out using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results of this study indicate that the overall level of tourist satisfaction based on attractions, amenities, and accessibility is included in the satisfied category with the results of the CSI value of 77.25%. The results of Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) show that the average value of the level of conformity (Tki) is 87.22%, which means that the level of conformity is good because it is close to 100%. The results of the IPA are also used to map the Cartesian diagram. The Cartesian diagram shows that the attributes that are highly expected by tourists but have unsatisfactory reality / performance are in quadrant A, namely road signs / instructions, safety signs, road conditions, and transportation access. Referring to the research findings, the advice that can be given is that Telaga Menjer should prioritize improvements to attributes that have high expectation values but low reality or performance values

Abstract

Local wisdom produced in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village has been institutionalized through norms and rules which guide daily behavior for environmental sustainability and become law for the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village environment. Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village encapsulates the meaning of preserving the forest environment with the mythology of Lelipi Selan Bukit, a myth that is widely known by the people of Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village. Local wisdom regarding the Lelipi Selan Bukit story is a symbolic form of the existence of a forest that is sacred to the community, that the forest has a guardian so that there are hidden meanings and mysteries in the forest that are beyond human control. The power of local wisdom is wrapped in myth to control humans so that they do not damage the environment. Symbolic meaning is not a concrete meaning, but a meaning that is built on the relationship between signifier and signified based on mutual agreement. Symbolic culture is a culture that is built to strengthen relationships between humans and fellow humans, humans and the natural surroundings and humans and God the creator to build harmony with fellow humans, nature and God who is embodied through culture. Until now, the local wisdom that has been developed by the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village has been able to maintain the forest environment well. Over time, symbolic capital becomes symbolic culture, which is a culture that originates from local wisdom to strengthen relationships between humans and fellow humans, humans and the natural environment and humans and God the creator to build harmony with fellow humans, nature and God which is embodied through culture.

Abstract

Along with the massive development of tourism, this has led to the emergence of the development of several tourism alternatives, such as: tourist villages and ecotourism which have become alternatives to the development of mass tourism. Sambangan Village has several charming tourist attractions that are no less beautiful than other tourist areas. The aim of this research is to find potentials, supporting and inhibiting factors and find out strategies for developing community-based adventure tourism in Sambangan Village, Buleleng Regency, Bali. This research uses a qualitative approach which is a research method used to examine the condition of natural objects. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation and interviews. The data has been collected, processed and analyzed descriptively using the SWOT analysis tool. The results of the research show that based on the square of the SWOT matrix, it can be seen that the position of the Sambangan tourist village is currently in the growth quadrant I position (growth) with the quadrant position in its place in the IB quadrant position, which means that the strategic position of the Sambangan tourist village is in a stable growth strategy position. If the Sambangan tourist village is in this position, the competitive power possessed by the Sambangan tourist village is relatively small compared to the opportunities available. In fact, the Sambangan tourist village can only grow according to its own capabilities. In other words, the growth of the Sambangan tourist village is not drastic (fast), but gradual.

Abstract

The level of satisfaction of hotel visitors with the facilities and service quality is formed based on the experience they have gained. Weak service quality and facility quality cause weak hotel guest satisfaction levels. This study explores how far the impact of service quality and facilities can affect guest satisfaction of Anahata Villas And Spa Resort Ubud. The research uses a quantitative approach by involving a data collection method through a questionnaire which is distributed as many as 96 visitors to domestic tourist guests. Descriptive analysis was used to test the research hypothesis by using the analysis of the validity test of the reliability of the instrument, the t-test and the f-test. The results of the study provide results that the quality of service and facilities independently is proven to play a role in increasing consumer satisfaction as evidenced by the results of obtaining t-test scores that exceed the t-table values and when viewed simultaneously that the quality of service and facilities has a positive and significant effect in building visitor satisfaction of Anahata Villas And Spa Resort Ubud. This result can provide reinforcement for the tourism industry to be able to strengthen the assessment of hotel guest satisfaction through the important role of directly perceived service quality and facilities as indirect service support.
