Abstract

Abstract

Stunting, defined as a growth disorder in children under five caused by chronic malnutrition, remains a significant public health challenge in Indonesia (Bahrun & Wildan, 2022). The high prevalence of stunting impacts children’s physical growth, cognitive development, and future quality of life (Sutarto et al., 2018). This study aims to provide an overview of the role of nutrition in preventing stunting, with a focus on supplementary feeding (PMT) as an effective nutritional intervention. The method employed involved providing guidance to families with stunted infants on providing supplementary food appropriate to the child’s nutritional needs. The guidance activities included education on the importance of balanced nutrition, providing sample menus for supplementary feeding based on local food ingredients, and monitoring changes in feeding practices for the children. The main results of the activities showed an increase in mothers’ or caregivers’ knowledge regarding nutrition and stunting, positive changes in supplementary feeding practices, and improvements in children’s health and growth and development. The conclusion of this study is that continuous mentoring is a crucial strategy in supporting the accelerated reduction of stunting in Indonesia

Abstract

The development of the digital economy encourages MSME actors to adapt to various technological innovations, including the use of digital payment systems. However, the results of initial observations show that some MSME actors still have limited understanding of digital payments and the use of the Quick Response Indonesian Standard (QRIS), and still rely on cash transactions in their business activities. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to increase participants' understanding of digital payment systems, introduce QRIS as a national standard for digital payments, provide an understanding of the benefits and security of QRIS, and encourage the use of digital transactions in supporting the financial transformation of MSMEs. The activity was carried out in the form of an online webinar organized by the Indonesian Institute of Accountants of the Banten Region with the theme "Getting to Know QRIS Closer: Fast, Modern, and Secure Digital Payment Strategies". The implementation method includes participant registration, material delivery, discussion and question and answer, and evaluation of activities. The participants of the activity totaled 33 people consisting of students, MSME actors, and the general public. The material presented included the evolution of payment systems, QRIS standardization, the advantages of QRIS, QRIS transaction mechanisms, types of QRIS, digital transaction security, QRIS and accounting transformation, as well as opportunities to utilize QRIS for MSMEs and the younger generation. The results of the activity showed that participants obtained information about the concept of QRIS, the benefits of digital payments, the security of digital transactions, the implementation of QRIS in business activities, and the use of QRIS in supporting the financial transformation of MSMEs. In addition, participants assessed that the material presented was relevant to current needs, easy to understand, and useful in supporting business management and adaptation to the development of the digital economy. This activity also resulted in a follow-up plan in the form of the dissemination of digital educational materials, assistance in the implementation of QRIS, monitoring the use of digital payments, and holding follow-up webinars. Thus, the webinar program has become an educational tool that supports the improvement of digital payment literacy and understanding of the use of QRIS in supporting the financial transformation of MSMEs in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Interest-based lending practices by moneylenders remain a significant challenge for communities and micro-enterprises in Dusun 9, Sei Rotan Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. Limited Islamic financial literacy has resulted in a lack of understanding of Sharia-compliant financing alternatives. This community service program aimed to enhance public understanding of Islamic financing contracts and encourage the utilization of Islamic financial institutions as alternative funding sources. The program employed socialization sessions, training workshops, interactive discussions, and evaluations through pre-tests and post-tests. Participants included micro and small business owners, community leaders, and local residents. The results indicated a substantial improvement in participants’ understanding of riba, murabahah, mudharabah, musyarakah, and qardh contracts. The average participant score increased from 58.4 before the training to 84.7 after the training. Furthermore, participants demonstrated a greater interest in utilizing Islamic financing services rather than interest-based loans. This program contributed to strengthening Islamic financial literacy and supporting community economic empowerment through the adoption of Sharia-compliant financing practices
