Abstract

Foreign exchange (forex) plays a crucial role in facilitating cross-border economic activities, particularly within the international payment system. Forex serves not only as a means of international payment but also as a medium of exchange and a tool for controlling currency exchange rates. Its presence enables smoother international transactions and supports macroeconomic stability. This study aims to examine the definition of forex in the context of the global economy, analyze its functions as a payment instrument, a medium of exchange, and an exchange rate control mechanism, as well as to discuss the fundamental differences between forex and local currency. These differences are reviewed in terms of their characteristics, usage, and impact on the national economy. The research uses a descriptive method with a literature study approach as the primary data source. The findings indicate that forex holds a strategic role in supporting international trade activities and serves as an essential instrument in monetary policy decision-making by financial authorities. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the role and function of forex is crucial for economic actors to effectively respond to global market dynamics and maintain national economic stability.

Abstract

Income distribution inequality is a structural problem that is widely discussed in classical, Islamic, and modern economics. This study discusses how these three approaches understand the roots of inequality and the solutions offered to create distributional justice. Inequality not only affects the economic sector, but also increases social disparities and disrupts community cohesion. Therefore, theoretical comparisons are important. This study analyzes classical economic views based on market mechanisms, explores the principles of distribution in Islamic economics that emphasize spiritual values and social responsibility, and examines modern economic responses to inequality through fiscal policy and the role of the state. The research was conducted using a qualitative method based on a literature review. The results show that the three approaches have different contributions: market efficiency in classical economics, sharia justice in Islamic economics, and a combination of markets and public policy in modern economics. The integrative approach is considered more relevant.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of sharia insurance on improving community welfare. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive explorative approach, through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies on participants and managers of sharia insurance. The results of the study indicate that sharia insurance plays an important role in providing financial protection in accordance with sharia principles, thereby helping to reduce economic risk and increase family financial stability. Factors of financial literacy, trust in institutions, religious values, and economic capacity influence the level of community acceptance. Although there are challenges in the development of sharia insurance, large market opportunities and regulatory support pave the way for more optimal growth. In conclusion, sharia insurance contributes positively to community welfare and needs to be developed sustainably.

Abstract

Influencer marketing has grown rapidly over the past decade and has become an essential strategy for businesses and brands to increase sales, visibility, and brand strength in the digital marketplace. This study aims to analyze the influence of influencer characteristics on follower purchase behavior. The research adopts a quantitative approach involving 135 respondents who follow three beauty content influencer accounts on Instagram. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) due to the relatively small sample size. The results of the study indicate that the variables influencer trustworthiness, influencer usefulness, influencer attractiveness, influencer experience, and influencer-follower congruence have a positive effect on purchase behavior. However, the moderating effect of influencer attractiveness was rejected due to a mismatch between the influencer’s attractiveness and the followers’ preferences. In contrast, the moderating effects of influencer trustworthiness, influencer usefulness, and influencer experience were accepted, suggesting that trust, perceived usefulness, and experience play a crucial role in shaping followers’ purchasing behavior. The researcher suggests that future studies use the same variables but include a larger number of influencers and more diverse content types to expand follower reach. This approach will allow for more comprehensive hypothesis testing and produce results that are more representative and generalizable.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of job training, financial compensation, and career development on employee performance at Brand Cotton On, Lippo Mall Puri branch. The population in this study consisted of 40 employees who served as respondents in completing the questionnaire. The research data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire, which was then processed and analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2018 and SPSS version 25 software. The research method employed was multiple linear regression, aiming to determine the extent to which each independent variable influences the dependent variable, namely employee performance. The results of this study indicate that job training has a significant effect on improving employees’ abilities and productivity. Financial compensation also has a significant impact on employee performance, as it serves as motivation and encouragement in carrying out work tasks. In addition, career development contributes positively to performance improvement through promotion opportunities and skill enhancement. Overall, these three variables play an important role in achieving optimal employee performance. Therefore, the management of Cotton On Lippo Mall Puri is expected to continuously improve the quality of job training programs, provide fair financial compensation, and offer sustainable career development opportunities for all employees.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the work environment and employee engagement on employee performance at the Youth and Sports Office (Dispora) of Jambi Province. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, with data collected through questionnaires. The study sample consisted of 94 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination (R²). Data processing in this study utilized the SPSS software program. The results of the study indicate that partially, the work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, and employee engagement also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneously, the work environment and employee engagement together have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the agency pay attention to the neatness of work results, improve lighting conditions in the workplace, and enhance employee diligence through motivation and rewards.

Abstract

Al-Wakalah is one of the contracts in Islamic jurisprudence that allows the delegation of authority from one party to another to conduct certain activities permitted by Sharia. This contract has developed significantly alongside the increasing demand for modern financial services, particularly in Islamic banking. This paper explores the fundamental concept of al-wakalah, its legal foundations in Islam, the essential elements and conditions of the contract, the various types of wakalah, and its applications in banking practices. The study employs a library research method by examining classical fiqh literature as well as contemporary academic sources. The findings indicate that al-wakalah is not only applied in personal transactions but also plays a strategic role in various banking services such as trade financing, fund transfers, investment management, and Islamic insurance. Therefore, al-wakalah serves as a crucial instrument in strengthening the Islamic financial system by ensuring transparency, security, and compliance with Sharia principles.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a role in national development, particularly in strengthening a country's economy, including Indonesia. In addition to contributing to the national economy, MSMEs are one of the sectors with a fairly strong track record in facing the economic crises that have occurred several times in Indonesia. Based on the results of the National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (SNLIK) in 2024, Indonesia's financial literacy index of 65.43% indicates that the public's financial literacy level falls into the moderate category. Therefore, this study aims to examine the relationship between Financial Literacy and Risk Management Implementation on the Sustainability of MSMEs in the Tegal Alur area. The sample was taken using the convenience sampling technique and a quantitative method with secondary data obtained from various reliable sources and primary data from field observations. This study uses a quantitative method with multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that partially, financial literacy and risk management have a positive and significant effect on the business sustainability of MSME actors. In other words, when financial literacy and risk management are high, business sustainability will also be high, and vice versa. Furthermore, simultaneously, financial literacy and risk management have a positive and significant effect on business sustainability with a coefficient of determination of 23%, while the remainder is influenced by variables not used and explained in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the extent to which management accounting plays a role in improving the financial performance of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk during the 2023–2024 period. Management accounting serves as a key function in providing financial and non-financial information used for planning, controlling, and making optimal business decisions. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using secondary data obtained from the company’s annual financial reports, management accounting books, and relevant scientific journals. The results show that the consistent implementation of management accounting contributes to cost efficiency, enhances budgeting processes, and supports more accurate decision-making. However, financially, there was a decline in profitability ratios, where ROA decreased from 10.17% to 8.30%, and NPM fell from 3.26% to 2.72%. Meanwhile, the DAR increased from 54.14% to 54.38%, and the CR rose from 100.36% to 104.48%, indicating an improvement in liquidity and capital structure stability. These findings suggest that although profitability experienced pressure due to higher operational costs, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk was able to maintain its liquidity and financial stability through effective budgeting systems and cost control mechanisms. Therefore, management accounting plays a significant role in the evaluation and continuous improvement of the company’s financial performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of self-efficacy as an intervening variable in influencing the relationship between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among employees of the Muaro Jambi Regency Environmental Service. The approach used in this study was quantitative with a survey method. Data were collected through distributing questionnaires using a Likert scale to 56 employees who were sampled in this study. The statistical analysis technique used was Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach, which was managed using SmartPLS 4.1.1. The results of the study indicate that servant leadership has a positive and significant influence on organizational citizenship behavior, as well as on self-efficacy. In addition, self-efficacy was also found to have a positive and significant influence on organizational citizenship behavior. These findings also confirm that self-efficacy significantly mediates the influence of servant leadership on organizational citizenship behavior. This study contributes to understanding the role of servant leadership in improving the quality of organizational citizenship behavior by increasing individual self-confidence in the workplace. The recommendation from the results of this study is the importance of developing self-efficacy in an effort to increase positive employee behavior in government organizations.
