Abstract

Songs are a form of symbolic communication that serves to convey emotional, moral, and cultural messages through beautiful and artistic language. In the context of communication, songs are not merely entertainment, but also a medium for representing meaning that reflects the social and cultural values ​​of society. This study aims to analyze the meaning of eternal love in the lyrics of the song "Sekali Seumur Hidup" by Lesti Kejora using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach. This approach emphasizes the relationship between the signifier and the signified in the formation of meaning. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method through text analysis based on Saussure's concept of signs. Song lyrics serve as the primary data to explore the explicit and implicit meanings of the symbols used. The results of the analysis show that linguistic signs such as "mimpi", "raja dan ratu", "sekali selama hidup", and "pier mimpi" represent the value of true love. These symbols depict sincerity, loyalty, honesty, and the spirituality of love as a profound moral message. Communicatively, this song not only tells the story of a romantic relationship, but also emphasizes the universal meaning that true love is sacred, occurs once in a lifetime, and needs to be maintained with sincerity as a form of human emotional and spiritual expression.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly shifted consumer behavior, especially in online shopping through e-commerce platforms such as Shopee. One of the most sought-after products is smartphones, including the iPhone, which is well-known for its quality and durability. This study aims to analyze user sentiment toward iOS smartphone products from the iBox store on Shopee using the Naïve Bayes method. This method is chosen for its simplicity in handling text classification and relatively high accuracy. The dataset used consists of customer reviews that have been preprocessed and manually labeled. The evaluation results show that the Naïve Bayes algorithm achieves an accuracy of 82.6%, with the best performance on the positive sentiment class (precision 0.95, recall 0.85, f1-score 0.90). However, the model performs poorly on the negative sentiment class, with a precision of only 0.33 and an f1-score of 0.44. These findings indicate that while the model is highly effective at identifying positive sentiment, further improvement is needed to enhance its ability to detect negative sentiment. This research is expected to serve as a reference for businesses such as iBox in understanding customer opinions automatically and making more informed strategic decisions.

Abstract

The lyrics of the song “Garam dan Madu” by Tenxi, Jemsii, and Naykilla present a unique multilingual phenomenon by combining Indonesian, Javanese, and English within a single lyrical composition, making them highly relevant for sociolinguistic analysis. This study aims to identify and analyze the types of code-mixing used in the lyrics through a descriptive qualitative method, employing interpretation, classification, and data decomposition techniques. The results show that the song incorporates both inner code-mixing, reflected in the use of Javanese within Indonesian structures, and outer code-mixing, marked by the presence of English lexical elements. Additionally, the lyrics exhibit various forms of code-mixing, including insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization, each contributing to the song’s stylistic variation and expressive depth. Overall, the findings illustrate how multilingualism in contemporary Indonesian music functions as a creative tool for identity expression, cultural blending, and emotional nuance, highlighting the increasingly hybrid linguistic practices found in youth-centered musical works.

Abstract

Information systems are an important component in supporting the efficiency of a government agency. Previously, the West Kalimantan Provincial DPRD still managed incoming and outgoing mail manually, such as delivering letters, creating letter agendas using Microsoft Word documents, which made the archiving process, data search, and letter tracking less effective. This study aims to Design and build a website-based incoming and outgoing mail information system to facilitate digital letter administration management. The system development method used is the Agile method, which emphasizes iterative and collaborative processes between developers and Users. System testing was carried out using the black box testing method to ensure that all features function according to User needs. The results of the User Acceptance Test (UAT) showed that the system obtained a satisfaction level of 88%, which is included in the "strongly agree" category. With this system, the letter administration process at the West Kalimantan Provincial DPRD becomes more organized, efficient, and accurate and minimizes the risk of data loss and recording errors.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the marketing communication strategy applied by Viera Sutera Garut in introducing traditional silk weaving products through social media, especially Instagram. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with a single case study design, where data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation of social media activities, and visual documentation. The results show that Viera optimizes marketing communication through the consistency of visual content that highlights the beauty of distinctive motifs and colors, thus being able to build a strong brand aesthetic. Collaborations with designers have also expanded the reach of the audience and strengthened Viera's position as a premium wastra craftsman. The strategy of color differentiation and emphasis on the production process is used as a form of cultural storytelling that provides education to consumers. Instagram acts as a digital catalog that not only displays products, but also builds a professional identity and image as a culture-based MSME. The findings of this study are in line with the concept of integrated marketing communication, storytelling strategies, and niche market management as an effective approach in promoting local products. This study concludes that marketing communication does not only function as a promotional tool, but also as a means of cultural preservation and strengthening local identity through visual and collaborative narratives.

Abstract

This study aims to predict students’ academic performance using the Naïve Bayes algorithm. The problem arises because academic assessment processes in many universities are still carried out manually, which can lead to subjectivity and inefficiency. Several factors—such as assignment scores, quizzes, examinations, attendance, motivation, and learning activities—significantly influence student performance, yet they have not been optimally utilized in prediction processes. The methods used in this research include data collection, preprocessing, splitting the dataset into training and testing sets, and applying the Naïve Bayes algorithm to classify student performance into categories of good, fair, and poor. The results indicate that the Naïve Bayes algorithm is capable of producing sufficiently accurate predictions and can be used as a decision-support tool to help improve the quality of learning in higher education institutions

Abstract

The spread of religion-based radicalism in digital spaces requires strategic communication efforts from Islamic higher education institutions to build counter-narratives through the strengthening of moderate Islamic discourse. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Agenda Setting Theory in the role of Public Relations at Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions in developing moderate Islamic discourse through digital media. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation analysis of both institutions’ communication activities. The findings reveal that PR plays four major roles in disseminating moderate Islamic values: as a communication technician, communication facilitator, expert prescriber, and problem-solving facilitator. Through the application of the Agenda Setting Theory, PR successfully establishes key issues such as religious moderation and humanism as the main focus of the universities’ digital communication. Strategies employed include maintaining visual identity consistency, strengthening media networks, and aligning messages with institutional visions and missions. This study concludes that PR at PTKI functions not only as an information manager but also as a social change agent and a driver of digital da’wah that supports moderate Islamic discourse in digital media.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the results of weather predictions in West Kalimantan. This research was conducted to compare the Random Forest and Decision Tree algorithms in predicting weather in West Kalimantan. The data used comes from the BMKG West Kalimantan Climate Station from 2022-2024 including attributes, namely, date, average temperature (Tavg), average humidity (RH_avg), rainfall (RR), duration of sunlight (ss), and average wind speed (ff-avg). The initial stage of research using the CRISP-DM method is to collect climate data obtained from the official website of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), then process the data, normalize the data, and then apply the Random Forest and decision tree algorithms using the RapidMiner tool. . Based on the results of weather prediction research with a comparison of Random Forest algorithm test data with an accuracy of 94.64% and Random Forest algorithm training data with an accuracy of 94.05%. And to compare the decision tree algorithm test data with an accuracy of 93.45% and the decision tree algorithm training data with an accuracy of 92.26%.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology, especially in online communication, raises concerns about the security and privacy of transmitted messages. Cryptography serves as a primary alternative to protect information from unauthorized access. This study aims to implement the RSA (Rivest Shamir Adleman) cryptographic algorithm to secure short messages in a web-based chat application. The research method used was a mixed method, combining literature study and application development trials. The designed application uses the Flask framework for the backend, while HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are used for the user interface. The implementation results show that the RSA algorithm successfully converted plaintext messages (e.g., "Haii") into ciphertext (such as [7347,3641,4742,4742]) using a public key and accurately restored them to the original message using a private key, without any loss of information. This application offers an interactive and visual interface, making it easier for users to understand the RSA encryption and decryption process. Testing confirmed a consistency between manual calculations and the application's functions, proving that the system works stably and accurately. It is concluded that the RSA algorithm can be used effectively to protect short messages on web-based chat platforms, serving not only as a secure communication tool but also as an effective learning medium for asymmetric cryptography concepts. For future development, it is recommended to use larger prime numbers to enhance security, as well as to add features such as file sharing and group chats.

Abstract

Obesity is a global health issue with a continuously increasing prevalence. Early prediction of obesity levels is crucial for designing more effective intervention strategies. This study aims to apply and analyze the performance of three machine learning classification methods: Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), and Logistic Regression (LR), for predicting obesity levels. The research methodology utilizes a public dataset, ObesityLevels, downloaded from the Kaggle platform, which consists of 2111 medical and lifestyle records. The process includes data preprocessing to convert categorical features into numerical ones, splitting the data into training and testing sets with a 70:30 ratio, model training, and evaluation using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The results indicate that the Random Forest (RF) algorithm achieved the highest performance, with an accuracy of 90.3%, precision of 90.3%, recall of 90.3%, and an F1-score of 90.3%. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the Random Forest model is the most effective choice for an obesity level prediction system based on the dataset used.
