Abstract

Mass transportation, particularly Light Rail Transit (LRT), plays a crucial role in supporting the modern-era mobility of Palembang's community. With the city's transit-oriented growth and high population density, the increased utilization of LRT presents challenges, such as congestion during holidays and special events, necessitating effective solutions to anticipate changes in passenger numbers. This study aims to design and implement a prediction model using the Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA) method to anticipate and forecast the number of Palembang Light Rail Transit (LRT) passengers. By integrating seasonal components into time series analysis, this research focuses on developing a model that can accurately predict fluctuations in LRT passenger numbers, especially during special events or holiday seasons. The SARIMA method is expected to be an effective tool in public transportation management for planning operational sustainability and ensuring optimal services for the Palembang community. The prediction results using the parameter model (0,1,1) (0,1,0) obtained an RMSE value of 57.68 and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) value of 16.69%; thus, the accuracy level achieved is 83.31%."

Abstract

Broadcast media encompassing television, radio, public broadcasting, and digital platforms plays a central and increasingly significant role within the sphere of contemporary societal life. The content presented, particularly in the form of advertising, entertainment, information, and public services, possesses the capability to transform the way individuals access knowledge, consume leisure, and utilize public facilities. This paper aims to elaborate upon and describe these four essential functions of broadcast media, analyze their implications, and delineate the interconnection and functional integration of media amidst the progress of the digital era. In the digital age, these four media functions no longer operate in isolation (siloism) but tend to integrate with one another through the mechanism of convergence within a single platform ecosystem, as evidenced by platforms such as YouTube or TikTok. This convergence facilitates simultaneous and streamlined access for the public to a diverse range of needs. Consequently, this integration necessitates the strengthening of digital literacy among the audience to enable critical content filtering and the mitigation of potential negative impacts. A comprehensive understanding of broadcast media functions constitutes an essential prerequisite for ensuring their optimal utilization for the public good and supporting national development.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital documents in organizational environments demands a reliable and structured system for managing document storage, version control, and approval workflows in an efficient and secure manner. This research develops a Document Management System (DMS) equipped with versioning and electronic approval features to improve overall document lifecycle processes at PT Home Center Indonesia Retail (Informa Sawangan). The system was developed through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, consisting of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and comprehensive testing stages. Several Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams including use case, activity, sequence, and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) were used to represent and clarify the system model and its functional processes. The results show that the implementation of the DMS significantly increases operational efficiency, accelerates document retrieval time, improves version tracking accuracy, and enhances transparency and accountability in approval workflows. Overall, the findings provide valuable insight into effective digital document governance and can serve as a practical reference for future system development and implementation in similar organizational environments.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand the role of social media in shaping food trends among adolescents using a descriptive qualitative approach. The methods applied include data collection through literature studies from various written sources such as books, scientific articles, and journals, then analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to explore the meaning and subjective experiences of adolescents related to the consumption of food trends that emerge from social media. The results of the study show that social media is the main platform for the spread of food trends with visual content that is attractive and quickly goes viral, triggering teenagers to follow various contemporary food trends popularized by influencers and content creators. Social media influences teens' food preferences not only in terms of taste but also as an expression of social identity and digital lifestyle. This trend encourages the consumption of fast food and is less healthy, impacting adolescent spending patterns, changes in social interactions, and physical and mental health risks. The culinary industry is leveraging this trend as a digital marketing strategy, while impulsive consumption and social polarization are emerging challenges. Digital literacy and nutrition education is recommended to reduce negative impacts while maximizing the positive potential of using social media for adolescent welfare.

Abstract

This study examines gender performativity in the film 500 Days of Summer using Judith Butler’s theory of gender performativity as the main analytical framework. Butler argues that gender is not an inherent identity but a social construct formed through repeated actions, language, and everyday expressions. This qualitative research analyzes how the characters Summer Finn and Tom Hansen represent gender construction through dialogue, cinematic visuals, and symbolic elements presented throughout the narrative. Data were collected from dialogue scripts, visual components such as expressions, gestures, framing, lighting, and costumes, as well as symbolic signs supporting the interpretation of gender. The analysis shows that the film consistently presents a reversal of traditional gender norms. Summer is portrayed as an independent, rational, and dominant woman, while Tom is depicted as emotional, sensitive, and passive. This configuration reinforces Butler’s concept that gender is fluid, unstable, and produced through repeated social practices. The findings indicate that 500 Days of Summer not only offers a romantic storyline but also provides a critique of traditional stereotypes of masculinity and femininity through the performativity of its two main characters. This research is expected to enrich studies on gender representation in film and create space for broader discussions on the construction of gender identity in popular culture.

Abstract

The costume rental management process often faces challenges in operational inefficiency and limitations in providing an optimal user experience. This research aims to develop and evaluate a web-based costume rental information system for the Wibucosrent platform. Through system development and user experience evaluation, this study seeks to provide a more efficient, integrated, and user-friendly solution for digital costume rental services. The research adopts a case study approach, focusing on system testing in a real-world environment. Data were collected through interviews with administrators and users, as well as system log analysis after implementation. The reduction in transaction processing time is based on a comparison of pre- and post- implementation data, where the average transaction time decreased from 10 minutes to 6 minutes. Additionally, a user satisfaction survey showed an increase in the average score from 3.8 to 4.5 (on a scale of 5) regarding ease of use and service speed. The conclusion of this study is that automation in a costume rental website not only enhances operational efficiency but also improves the quality of user interactions. Thus, implementing this technology has the potential to be a solution for similar industries to adapt to the demands of the digital market.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has had a significant impact on children's social lives, particularly through the increasingly widespread use of smartphones at an early age. The phenomenon of smartphone addiction in children has become a complex social and psychological issue because it affects their behavior, communication patterns, and social relationships within the family, school, and peer environment. This study aims to systematically examine the effect of smartphone addiction on changes in children's behavior, communication, and social relationships using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review process was conducted based on the PRISMA protocol on scientific literature published between 2019 and 2025, encompassing 27 selected articles from various academic databases. The analysis results indicate that smartphone addiction impacts increased impulsive behavior, decreased face-to-face interactions, impaired family communication, and reduced empathy and social engagement in children. Key risk factors include weak parental control, social pressure from peers, and unmet emotional needs. Conversely, family support and digital literacy have been shown to act as protective factors. This research contributes to broadening the theoretical understanding of non-substance addictive behaviors in children and provides a basis for developing family-based and educational intervention strategies to establish a healthy balance in digital technology use among children.

Abstract

Digital transformation in labor migration services in Indonesia is increasingly urgent as the reliance on digital platforms for communication, recruitment, and promotion increases. This study aims to examine the digital communication strategies implemented by the Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Company (P3MI), with a focus on ethical practices, integrated marketing communication (IMC), as well as opportunities for future strategy development. The approach used is qualitative descriptive through literature study and participatory observation of PT Mitra Sinergi Sukses (MSS), a licensed P3MI that actively utilizes Instagram and official websites to reach prospective migrant workers. The results of the study show four main findings. First, although MSS displays visual consistency in digital branding, its communication strategy has not been integrated across platforms, thus weakening IMC's effectiveness. Second, the level of audience engagement is relatively low, characterized by a lack of interaction and the absence of two-way dialogue on social media. Third, from the aspect of communication ethics, weaknesses were found in the delivery of information, especially the promotion of successful migration without transparency regarding procedures and risks, as well as the use of personal data without adequate explanation or consent. Fourth, although the website provides a destination country-based registration form, there is no structured Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or audience segmentation strategy. On the other hand, this study identifies significant opportunities for MSS to strengthen its digital presence through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to increase audience engagement, CRM implementation, and the development of storytelling based on the diaspora community. This study concludes that the shift from one-way promotional communication to ethical, integrated, and data-driven strategies is an essential step in the empowerment of prospective migrant workers and the protection of the global workforce.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of @tempodotco's Instagram media content on Generation Z's digital political participation in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data were collected through a survey using a structured questionnaire distributed online to 100 Generation Z respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using inferential statistics with Pearson correlation tests and simple linear regression to determine the direction and magnitude of the influence between variables. The results show that @tempodotco's Instagram media content has a significant and positive influence on Generation Z's digital political participation in Indonesia. The coefficient of determination indicates that media content is able to explain some of the variation in digital political participation, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings suggest that exposure to credible and critical independent media content can encourage young people's political engagement in the digital space. This study concludes that social media not only functions as an information channel but also as an important space for political participation for Generation Z. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the study of digital political communication and become a consideration for online media in developing strategies for presenting effective and relevant political content for the younger generation.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital communication technology has made social media an important part of students' academic lives. However, the high frequency of social media notifications has the potential to distract attention and reduce concentration on learning. This study aims to identify the correlation between the number of social media notifications and students' focus on learning in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The researcher applied a quantitative approach with an explanatory type. Data collection utilized an online questionnaire from 109 active students selected through the use of purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument consisted of 24 questions that had been tested for reliability and validity. Data processing utilized simple linear regression analysis operated through SPSS software version 30. Based on the research findings, the high intensity of social media notifications was proven to have a significant impact on students' concentration levels, as indicated by a significance value of <0.001. In addition, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.736 indicates that 73.6% of the changes in students' concentration can be explained by the variable of social media notification frequency, while the remaining 26.4% is influenced by other variables outside the scope of this study. These findings confirm that the more often students receive social media notifications, the greater the risk of decreased study concentration, making the management of notifications important in supporting learning effectiveness in the digital era.
